  2. Expect kings Lynn to be bottom next season
  3. Today
  4. I think it’s common knowledge that signing a rider on a 3.00, 4.00 or even 7.50 average then help in their development is cheaper in the long term than signing two GP standard riders straight off the peg. Equally the chances of a rider who has ridden at number 1 one season won’t be taking a great dip in wages to be a third heat leader at the team that poached him. All academic now as Richard is running the show and it no longer the witches way, thankfully.
  5. Fantastic idea. A great race track. Unfortunately the (very large) costs and logistics involved are prohibitive sadly.
  6. I get your logic. But..... It ain't over till it's over. They do have a thing called rain "occasionally" in Manchester. Who knows what that could do to the result at the NSS. Keep the faith.
  7. Careful.... I can see some stats coming in from "someone" soon, detailing, to the penny, the money paid out to each individual rider, by the Aces and Ipswich... Probably covering the past five years or so, in an attempt to disprove your theory......
  8. All I want is a dry fortnight so the final takes place the following week. If its pushed back by a week I will have to amend my travel plans as I was off to the sun.
  9. There is no such thing as bad publicity. Remember that only thing worse that being spoken about is not being spoken about. And I fear the latter is the situation British Speedway finds itself in the majority of the time.
  10. Shame they'd gone with 60s imagery. More modern imagery might get someone to search the sport up but that's obviously not weatherspoons responsibility to sell the area.
  11. This. There was a vacancy at Belle Vue which meant he slipped in seamlessly as a like for like. To bring an eight pointer in to Ipswich, that would have involved two changes minimum. Coleman isn’t going to be an owner that regularly chops and changes and puts riders out of a job and fans are going to have to accept the way he works there. As I’ve said before, if the club is struggling and changes aren’t made, that could end up being annoying for some supporters. Bangs was an extreme case as he was struggling not just on track, but off it. They gave him as much support as possible but in the end were forced to do something not just for the clubs benefit, but the rider. They didn’t feel great about doing that either I can tell you that. Maybe their stance will change a little in the future. At the end of the day you have to listen to your supporters as they’re the ones who pay at the gate and keep the club going so if the noise gets loud enough, action will inevitably have to happen. Plus, Ipswich just can’t compete with the money Belle Vue throw at riders so it was a non starter anyway 😉
  12. Seems to be some really good potential there at Northampton. Considering how poor the team have been due to circumstances out of their control, the crowd levels by all accounts have held up well so thats promising going forward. Interesting to see what team they can put together with proper planning just like us at Ipswich. League should be much more competitive next year.
  13. I’m assuming the riders still need to earn and they get paid per point? Ok maybe some of the top boys are on some sort of guarantee, but I wouldn’t have thought the likes of kemp would be.
  14. This has been commented on previously from memory he asked to come back but it would involve to many changes to fit him back in.
  15. Any movement in that form on Northampton Flagrag ? no drama if your not in a position to comment.
  16. And at his home track he should be much better than that. Poole dropped him because of his attitude. Maybe in this case Leicester were not too worried as it was not a meeting they had to win.
  17. It’s Kemps attitude that made Louis drop him from Ipswich when he was seen as the next wonder boy. Has the ability & bags of potential but sadly looks to be another who massively underachieves!!
  18. That would be good. I’ve said for years we have to work with Poland & not against them. They have by far & away the most successful, professional league set up in the world.
  19. I was a little surprised moneybags Belle Vue were able to get Doyle, you would have thought he would have chosen Ipswich if asked.
  20. 15.09.2026: Zaplecze kadry Junior meeting, Gniezno: https://www.youtube.com/live/0k85E-TJRCg?is=2npSB8BZGEcijc-0
  21. A Grand Prix at Gillman in Adelaide? A very good holiday destination with great wineries, awesome beaches, and a decent city centre. I'd put Gillman as a venue in the same bracket as places like Vojens, grass banks for spectators, and would definately need temporary seating.
  22. Yesterday
  23. The swedish speedway league have made a deal with tyre company Mitas that means all riders in the 3 leagues over there have to use those tyres. Some big names including Zmarzlik and Lambert are not happy. They prefer Anlas who also provide tyres for the GP and UK. Potentially could mean riders will leave the Swedish league for UK or Denmark.
  24. Ipswich May not be the only British team with a formal association to a Polish Club Extraliga team in 2027 Clubs appear to be keen to get some of their younger riders over to ride in the UK as well which would be a good thing
  25. I’m sure the lads appreciate your take on them this season. I’d imagine they felt quite chipper having pretty much emulated the great teams of 2023/4, but then have you and others telling them it’s been a trying, make do and mend team that fans what to see the back of with the hope for a better year in ‘27. There’s a word for fans like that which you are very aware of - apparently.
  26. I thought they were talking about Sedgmen not Kemp?
