  1. Past hour
  2. If you didn't enjoy today's meeting id give up if I was you. Roadworks why even mention it, nothing to do with the Aces and they Tweeted about it ahead of the meeting. Yes you can't pay on back straight with cash but you can very quickly use the app to buy a ticket on your phone, which I know they consistently tell people. I got in after 11:30 and got a program, there was still a few left after start time as was announced. I also got hot food at 11:55 and they had everything left but pies. As for the track this is where you really are talking absolute nonsense, it was in superb nick and produced good racing on a very very hot day. As for the toilets yes it's not great there was no water but that was due to a burst pipe, these things happen. Stop moaning.
  3. But in the play offs that wont happen, Sheffield came for the point and they got it. They wont lose by so much in the play offs.
  4. But you can make a substitute when you are winning as well and defend. Not just when you are losing. It’s totally different.
  5. Fully agree. What’s he supposed to do when he’s been moved by the start Marshall, not like he’s choose to move by himself he’s being forced. Crazy from the ref really.
  6. Can’t stand Tungate but that was farcical …. Was clearly asked to move over and did and gets excluded …. Wrong decision for me
  7. Harsh on Tungate that... what's to stop these, notoriously neutral, start marshal's timing riders out in the future?
  8. Naturally home support massively overestimate the crowd 😜 viz a viz the discussion about Ipswich the other week! good to see however BH were always speedway days in years gone by with home and away double headers always a highlight! a larger win than I expected so the playoff picture just opened up
  9. Ben Cook wearing an old skool number 6... made from masking tape and a marker pen, such professionalism 6️⃣
  10. Sadly it is all a business and clubs know their diehards will come regardless. I mean todays meeting really was null and void because you have a play off system. Make it make sense? All about making money and Speedway fans will pay their money same with football.
  11. I was feeling fed up that the nice long bank holiday weekend was coming to an end … and then I read this . Someone pass me a rope …..
  12. As a neutral there today, I must say I thought it was a bang average meeting and pretty poor for the NSS with most of the action done by B3 of L1... which we all know doesn't count as action.
  13. When you think the Poles filled the rostrum in the European U 19 final on Saturday the future is indeed rosy.
  14. Well I must say that my NSS experiance today was not of the best. I know Belle Vue had no control over the road works but what followed was not of the best. I went to the back streight as I had been told the atmosphere was good. Got to the entrance to be told that it as cash only. Fortunatley I had some cash with me but some people were told that they woild have to go to the front of the stadium to get a ticket with a card. For a National stadium this is not good. I was then searched by some very hostile security gaurds. Not just a bag search but a full pat down. Then there at 11:30 there was hardley any choise of food, not to mention the prices. Also people around me were complaining that they haddn't got a program. Then we come to the track. What a fantastic shape. I was looking forward to all these racing lines that I had heard about and what did we get? You had to be in trap 2 and then two options, down to the white line or up to the fence, nothing in the middle. It was just a gate and go track, such a disapointment. to be honest I have ridden better tracks on the beach at Filey in my sand racing days. And finaly after the meeting I went to the toilets to find that the water had been turnrd off so they could not be fushed nor could I wash my hands. As someone wh had traveled a fiar distance to attend I feel that this is very poor and I will be contacting the council liecensing authorities as I feel that this is a health and safety issue. All in all a very poor experiance at a stadium that should be setting the standards for other to try and follow. Dpon't think that I will be making the trip again
  15. I’d also go one further and say imagine watching Chelsea vs wolves and Chelsea go 2-0 up so the rules give wolves a goal to make it 2-1 and more interesting! The tactical sub for me is a joke. If you are behind in the meeting, it’s because you’re not good enough, you shouldn’t get another chance to get close.
  16. Scheessel result 1st Harris 21 2nd Fienhage 19 3rd Appleton 17 4th Smolinski 15 5th Wajtknecht 13 Cumulative after 3 of the 4 rounds 1st Fienhage 55 2nd Wajtnecht 53 3rd Harris 51 4th Smolinski 47 5th Meijerink 35 6th Appleton 33
  17. good meeting never thought it would be that big of a win, good atmosphere for a change, thought jack holder rode hard to be challenging Kurtz and bewley, need more consistency from blodorn, our problem is away from home, but they are just one of meetings that need to count, colder weather and rain kicks in tracks can be very different. nice gesture from Sheffield team to go visit their fans on 2nd bend, (polish style)
  18. Today
  19. Kurtz was in his own postcode v impressive travelling back through the night as well. Always enjoy watching Holder jnr, he gave it a go but there was no catching BK
  20. Let's nip this in the bud shall we? Firstly, I am NOT critical of "all things" Berwick. The only issue I have is the lack of what I would call entertainment of the track/"racing". I certainly don't have a problem with the promotion, in fact I think they do a fantastic job in keeping Berwick going (this includes previous promotions, not just the current ones). Again, if you can find me saying that "I get my fix at Workington" (or something to that effect) then by all means post it/quote me, but as I say, you will not find me saying that. Saturday was my first visit to Northside to see speedway. I visited many years ago with Bob Tasker (GRT Media) when it was still a training track and Worky were still at Derwent Park and GRT recorded the meetings there (at DP), as we did that day. We went to Northside as Bob wanted to see what the set-up was like there. But we didn't see any speedway at Northside. I'll wait for the Quote from me.... but it will a be long wait, as I have NEVER said "I go to Workington".
  21. Don't bother with Steve. He told me years ago that there are 5 Sundays in a 28 day period when I questioned why Newcastle had a facility when Berwick were at Newcastle.
  22. Would be a bloody shame to lose it. It’s an absolutely fantastic service. I honestly had no idea it was struggling for volunteers, I certainly wouldn’t mind helping out on occasion. Is it worth putting a post up on here to ask if anybody else is keen?
  23. Enjoyed the meeting today and they did well to keep the dust down (except for heat 15). Track is usually excellent at BV so no surprise they always do a good job. Looked a good healthy crowd and unlike other events they seem to handle it well. The only minor point is the PA was barely audible except for when they went over to the Bvtv feed. Overall a good advert for those who were there for the first time/first time in a while which there was plenty of.
  24. That's not what I'm on about. It would possibly be last season or the off season that I would be looking for. Without looking back in the threads (might do at some point) that seems to be you replying to other Berwick fans (not me) for being critical of all things Berwick. With you getting called out in the first 2 or 3 meetings (by various Berwick posters), you haven't posted as much on Berwick threads.
  25. Interesting I look at each of the 4 play off teams accumulative team averages home and away, not rolling averages but meetings this season. These were the results before today's group of meetings. Belle Vue home 48.19 away 37:06 total 85.25 Ipswich (Based on Jason Edwards in the team) home 51.40 away 40.77 total 92.17 Leicester home 44.88 away 39.91 total 84.79 Sheffield home 48.62 away 40.36 total 88.98 Based on season form book we are looking at a Ipswich v Sheffield Final. With Ipswich running out eventual winners. Will be interesting to see if that come true to form.
