Only Howarth knows, although he may not be sure just now. He could say he's retired & come back, he could say he's taking a break & never come back. All Leicester & Glasgow can do is what's best for their clubs now.

Normally I'd agree it's daft guesting when it can hurt your team, but in this instance one of their play-off rivals will drop points. If Lawson helps Sheffield win, that's Lynn out of the play-off hunt, while even if Edwards helps Lynn to a home win, they're still a long way from finishing ahead of Ipswich. If I was a Witches fan I'd rather Sheffield won, so wouldn't mind Lawson guesting, but less keen on Edwards racing for Lynn.

Excellent, thank you. Will sort that now. Anyone with suggestions on where to eat locally, please? And is there pits access for supporters either before or after the match? I dragged an Aussie mate to Workington for his first ever speedway match last year. He had such a good chat with fellow countryman Jacob Hook afterwards that now Hook is in business again he wants to get to this fixture!

If (God forbid) it ever was Craig Cook, the DJ would have to find the 'Rawhide' theme tune again - 'Rolling, Rolling, Rolling'!!š¤£
-
It does show the state of UK speedway though that due to the complete lack of riders in the UK a fella who 10-20 years ago would have been axed sharpish is pretty much bullet proof and theres another 8-10 like him sadly.

Premiership 2027 - Are You Interested??
ouch replied to Daniel Smith's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They need to give 10ā000 free tickets away within a 30-35 mile radius. With an area like that weād even get a few thousand from Sheffield. -
Its all the usual stuff though giving up if he doesn't trap in front etc time and again, we all know they were on the back foot from the get go with Batch, Lidsey, Zagar and Klindt who can all not fancy it half the time , the other three riders have exceeded expectations though. If they can get a proper committed number one next year and get down to 1-2 riders who might not fancy it rather than four they should win most home meetings.

Two points. Firstly - if they got injury for doubling up in their championship contracted club or other league or even SGP, so be it, because that is also their signed contractual obligations. What they do as guests is basically moonlighting and risking their actual clubs chances of a good season. Secondly - The comparison with football, although not directly the same, is relevant. That sport houses your players and your loyal fan base. These riders are for all intents and purposes your riders, they cannot ride against their second team be it in the championship or another league abroad as no European cups exist in speedway, therefore cannot directly impact ruining their actual clubs chances of a league position⦠when you introduce guest riders, that changes everything.

Bed him in now for next season?
-
Heās crap for Lynn. Best drop down a league

Must be Ben Cook then š

Think the Witches will just do it. Cook and Kvech have not bought there form from abroad back to the uk

Dropping batch is an outrageous decision to be honest. He's posted today saying he has been doing physio and would have been back for this week's fixture. You've now replaced batch who in his last two meetings had top scored for Northampton with a young Aussie who has never rode around Northampton or many of the Premier League tracks at that. Baffling decision, especially when you have others in the team scoring close to zero every meeting.

And how crackers does that sound.

It takes all types to make every sport exciting. In Speedway you need the gating tart, the curb crawler, the chaser & the kamikaze. The mixture of mentality is what gives the sport (any sport) the excitement. Without the Pedersen types, the sport is & has been a bland sport for a while. The fact many are talking about Woryna, means he's doing something right, for his profile & the sport overall.

Here today gone tomorrow rider.

There will be 200+'Guests this season in the two top leagues.. Imagine trying to sell such a sh*tshow to TV??.. "So, any of your riders can ride for any of your competitor's and score points that will prevent you from getting into the Play Offs?... "We will pass, thankyou".... Edit. Obviously I mean that guesting has been around for decades and no one doesn't attend UK Speedway just because of this.... And that using a regulation from 60 years ago, is perfect for a modern day 24/7 digital social media age....

Mcdiarmid ?
-
Done, thanks Dave.

But that can happen without guesting as well, due to riders in multiple leagues, doubling up, GPs, etc. The year that Sheffield won the playoffs they lost 6 riders to injury at some point during the season, and only one of them was injured riding for Sheffield. The comparison with football is irrelevant whilever riders are allowed to compete in 2 or 3 countries. They are never riders for your club exclusively.
