But didn’t they choose not to have him in their side this year for financial reasons? Have they got new investment?
-
With the AGM cancelled till god knows when, don't know when we will find out about that

Fricke is a GP rider. Seems pretty obvious that is who the opening post is alluding to. No brainer for Fricke to be back at Leicester
-
So has the one over eight rule been scrapped now as wasn't aware it had been.

As Stewart thought Victors average was good at the beginning of last season he's bound to think next season's average is great then a 2 pointer -
Tom is one of those riders that benefits from a busy schedule and riding regularly. Some said he took on too much a couple of seasons ago, but that works for him. When rides dried up abroad this year, his calendar suddenly looked very sparse and that didn’t help him regain his form. His double leg break last winter must also have been a factor, so was him being thrust in to a number 1 berth at Ipswich because of the lateness of the takeover. Everything cobbled together created a doom loop for the lad and he never really got going. I’m 100% convinced though that next year will see a return to form due to these factors no longer being an issue. His average now in the top flight is an attractive one that will see him out of the pressure heat leader positions for somebody who will now benefit from his poor season. Regular Championship fixtures keeping him busy will also benefit him hugely. IF Oxford have secured his services, then they’ve pulled off the Championship signing of the winter and IMO will have the League’s top man in their side.

The opening post suggests another GP rider coming in. Why not recall Fricke?? The new GP rider would be an 8.00 and Fricke would be 8.27. Would absolutely go with the more league experienced guy over someone that most certainly ISN'T going to be one of the GP big guns.

Hearing it's been postponed should be 3rd November, no new date as yet 🤔 here we go again like last year all over again

Arthur54 started following Oxford 2027

Does anyone know what Tom Brennans converted championship average will be, if it's over 8 and he's signing for Oxford, then it's obviously two riders over 8 next season
-
Let me clarify. I was talking about the recent past when Mike the Belle Vue fan was referencing Birmingham and Oxford struggling at the foot of the table. Yes they struggled, but thats on them. They had as much chance as everyone else to put a team together. 2006 is an awful long time ago and to be honest, has little relevance to this season when 2 clubs only got confirmed in March leaving basically a 4 team league with 2 fillers. The fact Ipswich scraped in to 4th is also irrelevant and says more about King’s Lynn than anything else!! How anyone can say this season “hasn’t actually been all that bad” with a straight face i’ll never know. It’s been a shocker.

3rd visit to Redcar this year from worky, yet again delays for track work, not good enough as been like this every visit, enjoyed the meeting, hope doyle and Theo are ok after big offs, both walked away thankfully. The race with bomber and klindt was epic, Charlie southwick a good 2 points prospect, apparently travels from Dorset to ride Speedway wherever he can, just hope that the south coast club who doesn't promote junior speedway, jumps in with ££s to sign him, deserves to go to a club that's helps juniors out - Today

When a consortium took over Belle Vue in November 2006, it was faced with having no team. Jason Crump had been bought by Poole and Kenneth Bjerre, having been ring fenced for Belle Vue by the BSPA management committee was poached by Peterborough. Even as late as Christmas Eve, the new promoters were trying to get that overturned. That meant come January 2007, a team was still needed, with few riders available. Simon Stead became the number one with Joe Screen and James Wright being the only other riders retained from 2006. Ultimately the Aces came to the tapes with these three plus Kevin Doolan, Kai Laukkanen, Adam Skornicki and Ryan Fisher. The only promoter who helped Belle Vue was Colin Pratt who organised the signing of Fisher. Belle Vue 2007 most certainly didn’t have “as much chance as anyone to build a side”

Certainly thick Dick.Need to move with the times😂

Indeed. Sam read them himself, despite the fact Poole never spoke to him about it and he never spoke to them. All you can do is trust officially confirmed signings. Which for Oxford so far are Sam Masters and Luke Killeen - anything else is just a rumour

Buys extra time to generate funds though. If I was a Plymouth regular I'd be happy to pay £50 a month throughout the season to help keep my club open. But I can't just drop £500 in one go...

It's still a debt that has to be repaid .

Would take Victor with that Team line up -
I've got a big soft spot for Plymouth, I don't know why I just do. I've only visited 3 times (twice before the track upgrades and once after) and I just love the place. They always put some interesting teams out too. I've done my bit towards the air fence fund, hopefully it's enough in the end. If the air fence isn't sorted until 2028, could Plymouth join the NORA league for a season just to keep speedway alive in Devon? I know the air fence rules aren't quite as strict in the NORA league. I think IF the air fence is sorted and Plymouth run, the team may be built on quite a budget. I'm thinking something with Ben Barker at number 1 and possibly the return of the likes of Kyle Newman and Ben Trigger at reserve. Good luck Plymouth, if you run I'll definitely make it a goal to visit next season, it's just so far away for me.

I've been there a couple couple of times in the last 2 years. Track might not be the best, but the setup there is very good and have enjoyed both trips and been made very welcome. Fingers crossed they get the funds, but watching that video with Phillips, he didn't seem very confident they'd run next year.

i get 8.37 as well Victor + Senna possibly

Everything at Redcar needs a revamp. The team has stagnated, the track gets worse as the season drags on and the management personnel need replacing. New owners , possibly the bloke ( jed? )that was involved with peterborough should be given the opportunity to buy it all out . The half dozen times i visited this season were pretty disappointing. -
Sheffield -V- Belle Vue POF Leg 1 Thursday 8th October
ouch replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
So you don’t attend due to other people not attending. It wasn’t a given that The Aces would qualify until part way into the season. Why did you not attend for those earlier meetings? PCMT was on a Monday. Hope you enjoyed it. If you like variety just watch the other teams visit once, like the good old days. You would get your variety and the club would get five extra ticket sales. Jason didn’t help Sheffield qualify at all. Take his points away verses Kings Lynn and it would have been 2 points off the tigers and 2 to the stars, meaning Sheffield still qualify. Take his points off for the lions meeting and Sheffield would still have won the meeting. All the TV deals done for the last 30 years have all been clinched whilst the guest system was in place. The guest system has been around for (what feels like) ever. Why is Nicolai so different to Jim McMillan guesting for The Aces in our most famous KO cup win in 1973? I do agree that a new signing should be allowed but with this site as evidence the majority of fans wouldn’t like it and prefer guests. There was a lady offering free face painting for kids and adults alike. The presentation was our usual apart from the flames near the start line.
