  1. Your vendetta against Plymouth is pathetic as is your total lack of respect for the ndl, which is where the future of British speedway is nurtured, not some hellish place that teams you have a vendetta against get banished to as some form of punishment.

  2. Thats a bit of an arrogant statement mate, Plymouth are generally well supported with a decent away following it's just a pity that a lot of riders don't want to travel down to Plymouth for home meetings, plus the racetrack is not a favourite of many riders though Mark Phillips has tried to extend the track a little over the close season, I wish Plymouth all the best for 2024 and hope they can get some decent weather to complete the Track improvements.

  3. Many will remember your Club as a bit of a joke until Ben Duffil came in and transformed it in to the progressive Club it is today. Your vendetta is puerile and just emphasises how apt your name tag is.

  7. It was the referee, B Horley, that ultimately wasted everyone's time. Rob & crew did their best & the Scunny riders wanted to go out & test the track.

  8. Depends how thick someone's skin is I suppose . You dish it out , you take it back , it's all good fun . It's why Scottish derbies are so special . We can poke fun at each other and have a drink together in the bar afterwards .

  10. I wouldn’t bother replying to half the crap posted on here, meant to be a speedway forum to discuss but so far this season it’s filled with trolling.

  12. Just throwing another 'issue' in to the do they/don't they, run a meeting based on weather forecast? I think its fair to say that the majority of 'speedway' fans want to see close/competitive racing? Well....bear with me...I'm getting to the point Sometimes.....because of the 'forecast' (possible rain)....track prep is hindered ? ..i.e they don't water the track in advance....therefore, the surface is extremely slick/dusty, which makes for 'processional' racing....which doesn't raise much enthusiasm imo! Therefore....I'd vote for a call-off, over a 'cr#p' meeting!

  13. Such sad news. He did so much for the sport as both a rider and promoter. RIP

  14. Comfortable win for Scunthorpe, who will take some beating at home when they all click. Allen and Ablett particularly impressive. Only Wright and Edwards (and to a lesser extent Trigger) were on the pace for Redcar and the 3-4 pairing looks very vulnerable (as suspected). But it’s early days and hopefully they improve. Agree about Schlein thought he was very good but Roynon’s questions were often longer than the replies!

  22. Lakeside, Am i correct in thinking the land owner no longer wanted Speedway their. Rye House, The Owners again do not want Speedway. Wimbledon, GRA did not want Speedway nor in the end Greyhound racing. Hackney, Was that site required for the Olympics. Wolverhampton, Yet another requested to leave by Stadium owners. Stoke, Landowners sold the Stadium. Boston, No idea. Eastbourne, Unviable or should i say Bills unpaid. Newport, Closed and demolished by Owners. Exeter, I,m guessing that yet again Stadium developed by Owners. Cradley Heath, Sold for development by the owners. Long Eaton, Sold for development by the owners. Coventry, Situation fluid and ongoing. The common factor amongst the majority of closed Stadiums is that they were closed for future development by the Stadium owners, some of the exceptions being Sunderland, Newcastle, Bradford, Workington (Rugby). The major issue is that primarily Speedway promoters are tenants of these Stadia and therefore it is out of their hands what the Stadium owners decide to do ie take the big bucks from developers or loose change in rent from Speedway promoters usually on an annual lease. As for Osborne he is a developer, sold Bristol, Closed Reading, Milton Keynes, and Swindon, something went wrong at Hereford, and Torquay don't want to play ball with his new Stadia idea, I have no doubt he is on the look out for potential none League Football Stadiums preferably in the South West..

  24. A very harsh statement. The Plymouth team was announced in good time with all riders fit. In the very last race in Argentina their No 1 gets a serious injury. By this time no no 1 s were free who were able or willing to race on a Saturday. It looks as if the original no1 is hoping to be fit enough to ride by mid May. Perhaps you would like to see them out of speedway all together. Yes it is a long way to Plymouth for visiting fans but te sae can be said for Plymouth supporters of any sports team. If you look at the Plymouth Argyle away support this averages well over 1000.

  32. I think Stoke lost their track due to the expansion of the industrial estate. They only rented their land.

  33. The point I was making, is the loss of speedway tracks/teams, is not just Osborne. As for Coventry, Cradley Heath and I think Stoke and maybe Somerset, they did own the tracks, but that didn't save speedway.

  34. It is confirmed and yes an unfortunate late decision for Redcar.

  35. Yes the route to get to the 3rd/4th bends is not great, but I am reading that it is being solved this week. Probably allowing fans in the straight part and having gates when the bikes are going on or off the track between races.

  36. Had the most unfortunate experience of going to this meeting today and what a total waste of time. Firstly I would like to know if the start marshalls have any form of training or have to attend any form of seminar. Do they have to understand the rules? A pre start shower definitely affected the track and rider performances but how can you try to explain to a group of 7 newbies about tractor racing for 20 minutes. Total farce of a meeting and Belle Vue should be ashamed of how they dealt with such a farce. Credit to the riders who actually tried in difficult circumstances, but others need to take a long hard look at themselves and ask themselves do I really want to do this!

  43. It's paid practice, and gives the lads some experience of riding in a (however contrived), team concept... If fans don't want to watch it, then it will stop.. If fans want to take any of the UK leagues ultra seriously then they are a very accommodating of the way the promoters run them, and obviously happy to collude in the "made up stuff".... Therefore. Let's just let 14 lads turn up and ride, some with dreams of stardom, and some with a desire to keep riding because they love it, with some also wanting to help out the new ones.. It still costs these lads a fair few.quid to compete, so some payment to help offset those costs is more than reasonable, therefore an admission fee is also reasonable given you can still get some excellent entertainment, particularly at the NSS..

  44. So you are one of the Lemony snicket lickers and a to boost. If it is Amateur Level then we are being robbed, it should be free It does not matter where I sat, if you have a bad back a like you will not mind paying for 2 seats then. Wolverhampton has closed unfortunately Well if you understand half of the garbage that comes out of a horses mouth well good for you, 99.9% can not understand horse talk

  45. The fact that any fan wants to walk away should be a concern ! For every one that says they are walking away there are 10 just doing it without so much as a bye or leave. this is where the problem lies with the NDL people keep trotting out this line ‘it’s only a training league’ okay then make it free. People are expected to pay good money they would like to see a return on that investment. with regards to the riders, it’s easy to belittle the league but, they take it very seriously as they want to progress but unless the powers that be stop using it as a political football and focus on making it a league that riders can be proud to be part of then the higher league clubs will carry on having to fly riders half way round the world at great cost. end of chat
