It's very hard to take your opinions seriously because you seem to be so anti Simon Lambert, suggesting extreme measures for a disappointing season (retiring), not giving any credit when someone points out he's had a good match (calling it a one-off) or basically ignoring posts which show his average has hardly dropped (which I've shown), besides there are lots of riders who have dropped their averages this year. So Simon Lambert has dropped a "whopping" 0.18 from last year's average (6.02 - 5.84) The following riders have dropped more: Sam Masters 9.47 - 9.06 Chris Harris 9.18 - 8.79 Danny King 8.63 - 7.66 Kyle Howarth 7.96 - 7.39 Ben Barker 7.61 - 6.45 Jye Etheridge 5.91 - 5.69 Jordan Jenkins 5.98 - 5.41 Kyle Newman 5.65 - 5.37 Connor Bailey 5.36 - 5.10 Jonas Knudsen 5.39 - 4.97 Henry Atkins 4.43 - 4.05 Paul Starke 4.10 - 3.51 Ace Pijper 3.25 - 3.01 So unless you're suggesting all these riders are having stinkers of a season, past their best and it's time to hang their leathers up, it appears you are singling out Lambert!7 points

Think they know what they are doing staying Championship ,decent crowds not paying silly money to “ big names” just topping up their wages.Well run Club.6 points

Halder is what he is, a 3.5 - 5 point rider depending on team position. He has been unlucky with injuries at times and have never taken his fitness seriously but in a sport that struggles to tke itself seriously why should he. 5 home and 5 away fixtures is barely enough to keep an amateur interested and would certainly be a hard push to convince anyone to buy equipment and take up the sport. Once the likes of Halder and co do decide its not worth the effort anymore there won't be riders to fill team places as Vatchers youth rounds over the weekend aren't full of emerging talents ready to take the places.4 points

not a track expert by any means, but looks as though they dumped a load of water on the surface which seemed to spoil the first 4 heats. shouldn’t they try to get the moisture into the track rather than leave it on the surface? once a rider was behind they just seemed to get filled in which has meant some poor racing so far.3 points

Brennan is a BSPA asset 100% not sure how many times I have to say this on here! Glasgow did not follow through with the purchase of him. Reference Poole going up, I think it needs to happen personally. A lot of for and against, but the landscape is completely different compared to 2019, next year the majority of GP riders we shall see back in the UK since early 2000’s, due to Sweden. Cost people say? Poole could field 5 of this years team and add the Holder Brothers for example! Magic, Nicolai and more available. I have discussed this with Danny on a number of occasions about moving up over the past few years! Race night is always discussed but for me I think that can be worked around with some Wednesday/Thursday fixtures. Profit and business wise it makes sense to sit in the championship to make the maximum amount of money, but is that the right choice? If Poole can’t sustain top flight speedway which they sat at from 1997-2019 lets not forget!I would be very concerned, looking at clubs like Birmingham with low crowds - also local derby? Oxford could be likely to drop out of the championship and Plymouth, will they continue in the championship? So that leaves our local derbys with northern sides? Business model wise that isn’t good! On another note the Championship will be weakened yet again likely in 2025 and you have to question can that be done again year on year? We are paying more for a weaker product and that happened again in 2024. let’s see but I hope the mighty Pirates return to the top table.3 points

No, I dont think so, it would just weaken the product further and deprive fans of watching better quality riders.3 points

Watering down the League is the biggest problem. These riders are not really Championship standard other than racing each other.3 points

Starke's Glasgow average is higher than Leibmann's Workington average. Starke & Pijper combined have higher averages than Ivacic & Garrad. Of the two teams Workington have made the better change imo.3 points
-
Leibmann was averaging 2.45 (2.82) from reserve. Pijper was averaging 2.70 (3.30) from reserve. Starke was averaging 3.38 (4.36) in the top 5. Seems a no brainer who to bring in.3 points

Agree with others... expecting a reasonably comfortable home win, followed by a jubilant Sam Ermolenko telling everyone that the team 'clicked', just as he knew they would!3 points

The Premiership needs Poole more than Poole needs the Premiership imo. Poole have shown they can get great crowds in the Champ as long as they race on Wednesdays. Now if Poole were allowed to move up with a Wednesday race night, then they might be interested.3 points

Brilliant answer, why would British Speedway want to fly over foreign based riders or have to find them accomodation etc when they don't score points? I think the minimum 4.00 average for foreigners is a great rule. Go back 5/10 years and riders like Rafal Konopka, Anders Andersen, Arlo Bugeja would keep getting chances on 3.00 averages at reserve. Nothing against these guys riding in Britain, but shouldn't be taking the place of a Brit who will score as many.3 points

It was brought in to give British youngsters an advantage. Otherwise mediocre foreign riders would take their places. when signing a foreign rider you need to be certain they are of a certain quality and be better than the British options. sweden seem to have very few young Swedish riders in their league because they filled their teams up with polish riders good and bad. If there are no team places they simply disappear.3 points

He led Laguta for 3 laps in his first, then a third, then fell trying to be a little hasty on the second bend when pinned, a race he could have won. Was superb in his ladt two leaving top riders in his wake. Really coming on big time now and taking the step to becoming a really top rider. Hope he is still at Poole next season.3 points

Isn’t Simon suffering from shingles ? Riders like Simon are the engine rooms of teams If he scores 2 or 12 you know he has given his all.3 points

He's an Aussie, fully committed to British speedway . Poole Wednesday, Leicester Thursday, Glasgow Friday, Workington Saturday, Poland Sunday, Birmingham Monday3 points

I don't think he can, which is a very stupid rule imo. Surely a club using an unattached rider is better than using one from a rival team?3 points

Because you need to engage your brain cell before typing perhaps ? The sport has always had its ‘ back up ‘ riders who were never going to be world beaters but are the backbone of the sport and are essential back up to the ‘ stars ‘. Halder has scored in every meeting and is as solid a second string as you will find in the NDL.2 points

On paper Birmingham should get 50, but they've been so awful this year, it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't reach 40.2 points

I don't think they will do it unless they allowed to do Weds or they think the crowd would be the same for a Thursday.2 points

Ah, yes, I did the maths too early in the morning and confused myself. Hard to see who could fit there. Personally, I’d love to see Glasgow sign Rowe with Worrall out.2 points

Each to their own. The Prem meetings I have seen on tv or stream haven't produced any more exciting racing than those in Championship - in some cases a heck of a lot worse! Still as many processional races because there aren't so called 'top' riders in every race. But as I've said each to their own.1 point

You could tell by the way Ceiliana rode at Scunthorpe on Friday that she had been told that she was getting released , the publicity she got earlier in the season helped Workington crowds but now she had to be in the side on merit sadly she wasn’t upto her average so time for a change1 point

Why not? Don't Glasgow stream meetings? Shame there's no fishing emoji.1 point

I would be more tempted to use Batch who got 13 riding at 5 when Worky came down or Danny King? Although Drew has done well. And also r/r at home should be ok imo. Not really when most of us didn't get to see it lol.1 point

It could potentionaly have any number. For instance, Berwick have no Premiership riders in their 1-7....1 point

You can have all the theories you want, but Riss was signed to replace Klindt, and Cook was signed to replace Kerr. Oxford never dropped someone and didn't replace them. https://britishspeedway.co.uk/rowe-motor-oil-premiership/spires-move-for-riss/ https://britishspeedway.co.uk/rowe-motor-oil-premiership/spires-are-cooking/1 point

When we were discussing it we came to the conclusion that Plymouth would be happier with the results (one team getting 3 points and one team getting 2). Plymouth have 5 matches in hand and neither team managed to pull to far clear of them.1 point

Even more difficult to bother..... The play offs will probably have teams made up of all and sundry, and that is perfectly fitting as to get there each would no doubt have had "some help" from their "supposed" competitors.... But they will also get decent crowds which, at the end of the day, is the only thing that matters...1 point

Glasgow by all accounts seem to have a good relationship with their Poole counterparts I assume they are both singing from the same hymn sheet. As very successful business men outside of Speedway they will run the club in the same way as they would their business. I don’t think the context of your link regarding what Tom said is not that Glasgow weren’t professional but more to do with he is happy at his new club as much as he was with us. Its really good to see he has went up another level as he also did with us.1 point

Colin Mackie walked away from Ashfield Giants juniors partly because of the decision of Vatcher and McGregor to strip the league title, after it had been awarded, from them and give it to Edinburgh.1 point

Don't get where the anti-Lambert comments are coming from. His average from 15 matches this year is 5.86 (6.84). His 20 match rolling ave, which obviously must include his last 5 matches from last year is 5.73 (6.68). Every rider should want their 24 average to be higher than their "rolling" average - this shows their scores must be improving!1 point

Absolutely not, those are the parts I am most likely to read. [Least likely to read are the recycled club press releases]1 point
