Who Will Make The Playoffs ?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, Bears' chances look pretty slim as we're carrying at least 1 passenger in all meetings. As someone said earlier, it looks like any chance we had of success was lost when Kozza's visa didn't get sorted.

Still don't understand the logic of play offs, at the end of the season the team with the most points is the winner. If it is used to stretch the season out, then the league structure is set up wrong, change it to we meet each other twice home & away.

that's Speedway, what you might get now if all the fixtures aren't completed before cut off date is that some teams will have met each other 3times without racing other clubs home and away due to the extra fixture situation.Only in Speedway.

Total farce, Berwick had 2 meetings in May and 2 meetings in June, then 2 weeks in Sept and 2 weeks in Oct are taken up by The Play Offs. Everyone then sits back and wonder why we caanot get the rain offs fitted in. Needs to get a proper structure, the powers that be, need the proverbial kick up the backside.

Berwick must have agreed to the fixture list though, surely?

No need to apologise - we've been struggling since Kozza cocked up his visa :nono:

and then really struggling when someone thought Konopka was a suitable replacement

Whatever happened to Joni Keskinen? :o;)

They didn't agree to sixteen rain-offs though.

You would have had problems with either a straight league title, or the Playoffs version, with the number of rain off meetings you have had.

Despite the 'only in Speedway' comment being used once again, a previous thread on here demonstrated the widescale use of playoffs in many varies sports across the sports world. Moan about anything and everything, 'only in speedway'.

panthers wouldn't have stood a cat in hells chance of making the play offs with schlein ,

What and you think they improved with RR for Fisher and a woeful performing DRYML.

Redcar's chances of reaching the Play-Offs were over long before they ever signed Smith. :D

Well Panthers beat Edinburgh comfortably enough.

And I seem to remember Dryml top scoring.

Agree with this, the best team is surely the team with the most points when all the PL fixtures have been raced, surely they are the true Champions.

Not if the play-off criteria is agreed by everyone from the off . The League competition is actually only a qualifying competition .

Absolutely, all the teams know the rules before the off, but I still cant get my head around how it is right that a team that finishes sixth can be crowned Champions, of course it happens in other sports and seems to be the modern way.
