Still overcast in Scunny... Dry, no rain as yet... and quite blowy...hopefully the forecast of rain between 12-3 was wrong.

13:45

Should be raining now in Scunny, it will get heavier for a very short while, then back to light rain and be gone by 14:30/14:45

Chance of a rogue shower in the afternoon, but should be predominantly dry from 14:45 onwards....

Diamonds got out of jail there. 18 points down with 3 to go we looked in big trouble. Two big 5-1's in 13 & 15. 10 points should be small enough to pull back. We need more from the reserves on the road though - particularly Lewis Rose who has been flying at Brough.

Quite agree. Disappointed with the result against a team with doubts against it, and not even finished strengthening their team yet. Why is Scunny such an impossible task for us, beaten in every 21 visits.

Carried 3 riders today. Should pull the deficit back, like we have in other home ties, but this should have been a banker.

We're going to miss Aarnio big time.

Give Victor time , he had some decent meetings for us last season , notably on the smaller tracks like Rye House and Edinburgh

It's not missing aarnio that's going to be the issue as I think Victor will do a job for us, it's more having riders who blow very hot and cold at times, yes they can win races, but in same meeting can be beating by opposition reserves imo.

Agree about the performance we need better if we are going achieve anything this season because we weren't great at Berwick or Workington either and had full team today so no excuses. Looking at the performances Danny will always find it tough away, Victor needs few meetings before we judge, but Kus has to score points away thats why we signed him and Rose need to take his home form on the road. Just as well Robert and Steve rode could have been a lot worse if they didn't. Fortunately Scunthorpe let us off with only 10 behind shouldn't be anywhere near enough as we are very strong at home and Scorpions have been awful round Brough last few seasons against weaker Diamonds sides.

Was a good meeting and a great win for Scunny...10 point lead is possibly not gonna be enough...but who knows.

Expected more from Newcastle.. Lambert, Worrall and Lindgren were very good value but lacked sufficient back up from the rest of their guys. A typical Newcastle performance around the EWR!

Solid team effort from Scunny, all the boys chipped in and were made to work extremely hard for their points.

It would've been so easy for Rob to pull the meeting on the strength of the weather forecast... so great credit to him for getting the meeting on. It must be the promoters worst nightmare to have heavy rain descend just an hour or so before the start of the meeting... It must of had a detrimental effect on the attendance.

those early predictions putting scunny bottom by people now looking foolish!

foolish?? They got battered at Berwick and beat a team that has never won against them at home??
