Ben91 1,743 Posted August 4, 2020 As British champion I would have liked to have seen Wright in the field. Perhaps he was offered and turned it down. However, the likelihood of him qualifying would have been slim. Common sense prevailed at least and the place was offered to a rider who can take the opportunity and learn from it rather than giving it to Chris Harris or Craig Cook. Hard to look past Laguta and Fricke, can see Michelsen, Zagar and Kasprzak fighting it out for the third spot.

Given his performances in the SEC (which this line up looks loosely based on) KK back in the GPS would be an absolute travesty! (41st in the Ekstraliga averages) Surely the likes of Smektala, Kubera or Prezedpleski would have been better? Presume the Pawlicki’s are still out of favour with PZM?

The line up isn’t great overall, granted there are circumstances beyond the control of anyone but we could be inflicted with three seriously under-par riders in the GP next year if things pan out against the favourites in this meeting. Unless Kasprzak ups his game considerably from the SEC and Ekstraliga, he shouldn't be troubling the qualifiers. I honestly think Timo Lahti has a better chance than most; especially if he replicates his performance from the last two SEC rounds.

And that says all about the standard of meeting if timo lahti has a very good chance of qualifying. No offence to him decent rider but no where near GP standard. iris123 20,993 Posted August 4, 2020 Let's face it Lahti is (most probably) better than Tomicek, and he almost made it through a proper quali system

PHILIPRISING 7,298 Posted August 4, 2020 COOK has previously made it through a much tougher GP Challenge than this one.

Yes indeed and outside of England, Cook is not at the level of Lahti; a brief comparison of their record in Poland would tell you as much.
Grachan 7,362 Posted August 4, 2020 Ellis was probably the best Brit after Woffinden and Lambert at the end of last year, and he is riding in Poland, so not an overly surprising pick. What level is he riding at in Poland? I saw that he scored a 15 point maximum recently but don't kmow what level of rider it was against.
