Edit - okay not Mon as Rory has his meeting! Forgot about that! Edited October 11, 2021 by lisa-colette

They'll cancel a match in the summer because of a football match on the TV... but won't run on an attractive Friday night but choose to run against the SoN that many, including myself, already have tickets for! Absurd! Why should Scunthorpe be thrown out of the competition 1~ they fulfilled all there fixtures before the original cut off date and didn’t need the extension 2- Scunthorpe had medical cover and an ambulance for the first leg So I’m sure it’s Leicester promotion who is at fault ??? please get facts right

1 valve 579 Posted October 12, 2021 (edited) Could somebody from (or genuinely close to) the promotion take the time to provide an explanation behind the apparent barmy idea of holding the second leg on Saturday instead of Friday. The Lions website does say “the second leg has been provisionally set for Saturday” so there is time to reconsider the chosen day and change the meeting to Friday and use tonight’s meeting to inform people accordingly. Alternatively, they could stick to their guns and lose out on attendance due to SON & LCFC v Man U & of course folk travelling from Poole to Manchester. But, the promoters may have a very good reason for holding the meeting on Saturday hence the question What is it? Steve Shovlar 10,441 Posted October 12, 2021 It absolutely stinks that Leicester have done this. Saturday and Sunday is SON, so what about the fans who have tickets for Saturday and Sunday at Belle Vue? Why on earth isn’t this meeting on Friday night? What possible reason can they give to wreck peoples plans at such short notice? It beggars belief that they have done this. They could run on Friday, or even Thursday at a push. Bad promotion. 1

Leicester City at home as well. It's going to hit the attendance for sure.

Edinburgh v Glasgow. is the only other fixture taking place on Friday - so are you suggesting lack of rider availability for guesting purposes? Although better still: It would be ironic if the reason the fixture at Leicester couldn't take place is because riders from Poole and/or Leicester were guesting for Edinburgh or Glasgow. I really don't think the Speedway of Nations will effect the regular Saturday night crowd too much. Its not ideal, but to run on a completely off night to accomodate a few who have SON tickets is not viable imo. It may mean a few watching a recorded SON when they get home, but thats life...its worked for one or two GP's this year, and crowds haven't been that bad. Personally i've got a ticket for Villa v Wolves on Saturday afternoon and i'm still going to make it to Leicester..guess i've got lucky there with proximaty and timings.
