If Poole build a team like this, they can expect to get say 36 points from the heat leaders, that means the remaining 4 only have to score 2/3 points each to win! Nothing wrong with building top-heavy!

Poole 2022?
Steve Worrall 9.05
Danny King 8.99
Richard Lawson 8.51
Ben Cook 5.31
Zach Cook 4.40
Drew Kemp 3.72
Ablitt / Mulford 2.00
Total 41.98

Sounds like the team they're going with and I'm not convinced with that 1-7 tbh for a number of reasons. Poole fans will disagree and that's fine.

The top three won't get 36 a meeting against any decent side on the road tbh with the way some teams are lining up with 3 big hitters themselves as well as Home track specialists.

Both Cook's are riding out of position and Ablitt would be non existent at reserve every week and it's relying too heavily on Kemp to keep the reserve battle close.

They aren’t taking applications yet.

Are Poole 100% running next season?

Just thought I'd ask considering the rent Issue, No team announcements and no season ticket applications being taken.

TRACK SHOP CHRISTMAS OPENING (poole-speedway.com)

They seem to hope to be by the weekend, seems it is because of the AGM meeting today and whether Birmingham confirm they can run or not rather than a rent issue.

What's the alternative? Let Glasgow have 3 of last years team? No thanks!! ;)

Build a more solid 1-7 that's plays to the riders strengths.

Ablitt hasn't even found his feel at NDL level yet.

Using GBSpeedway.com for in depth performance stats for each rider and it doesn't make for good reading when it comes to the Cook's riding in the 1-5 on the road.

Z. Cook's stats on the road in the 1-5

1st places = 2

2nd places = 4

3rd places = 16

4th places = 11

B. Cook's stats on the road in the 1-5

1st places = 1

2nd places = 5

3rd places = 6

4th places = 10

The side posted on this page is just so unbalanced with riders being asked to a job out of position.

The HL trio putting up 36 a meeting is unrealistic on the road as well considering teams will be built with big hitting track specialists.

Where has the name Ablitt come from? Highly unlikely to be on the team sheet.

Heaven forbid an Eastie youth prospect in your side!

Rode 4 meetings for Eastbourne in 2021, another very good prospect lost to the club at the moment..

It won't be him in your side of course

Scrapheap? Do me a favour! I was at the meeting when Matt Ford said he really wanted to keep Basso for 2022 but knew it would be difficult. One of the reasons we moved down was to get Weds nights back again, so hardly going to change it again for one rider and even if we were prepared to, what night would be allowed to race on?

I'm guessing Hume prob was in the team before someone else decided to leave Plymouth. Might have had to choose between Hume and Ben Cook?

Think Danyons average was too high from the off.

Again where the rising star scheme wasn't thought through

Why not?

I actually don't know anything about the lad but surely if he is a prospect would be worth a punt.

About on par with Jason Edwards, but a couple of years in hand. We might have had a good team in a few years with those 2 and Brennen as the core.

Wasn’t being disrespectful to the lad but he has hardly any experience at this level at the moment and it would be a very unusual signing which would be out of keeping with usual Poole team building plans.

Still, if we are going too heavy, we are going to be squeezed for choice at the bottom and he could be in the equation.

In the short term midweek and weekday Clubs in CL will become more attractive to young British riders like Kemp, Brennan and many others as they'll be able to earn 5 to 10x more potentially in Poland in time via their U24 league and 2nd and 3rd tier Clubs.

UK just can't compete with what's on offer there not just pay but practice and overall professionalism of Club set ups.

If you imagine PL football in England and top level football in Poland reversed.. You won't be far off.

BSPL and Clubs need to wake up to this almost certain asset stripping.

We could be world champions but never see our world champions... Oh we are!.. How many times will we see Tai, Lambert, Bewley in 2022?..fast forward 5 years and there could be a dozen or more of the next generation totally lost to British league speedway.

Brennan, Kemp, Flint already have Polish deals for 22 and may be based there in a few years like the current big 3 Brits.

Spot on,clubs like Poole, Birmingham, Plymouth, Oxford  would certainly have the edge in attracting the best of the young brits!

Had a bit of an "out there" thought about this situation. German, Latvian and Russia have clubs who race in the polish lower leagues, why don't Britain do the same? Best youngsters getting experience of racing on the continent, more international riders would be seen on these shores in the return fixtures. Put clauses in contracts that if riders want to take up a place they must ride in the UK.

No sure the logistics of it or whether polish authorities be game but going to need ideas to keep our best riders in the country
