The SPFL will meet this morning to make a decision on those matches after official government guidance recommended that sports bodies consider cancelling events on the day of the state funeral, but have no obligation to do so on other days during the period of national mourning.

Stockcars, Brisca's and other formulas at Mildenhall, Ipswich and Northampton over the weekend...... 2 minute silence and National Anthem being played, jobs a good'un.

Just said on sky sports news that there is no obligation for any events to be cancelled, it is down to the individual governing bodies.

There has to be consideration however for policing of sports events when obviously there will need to be a very large police presence in London and other places that will mean less police to cover sport. 

The tour of Britain cycle race has been abandoned ,partly because police assistance could not be guaranteed.

Apart from football being off and racing resuming on Sunday everything else is back on cricket and rugby resume tomorrow.

Rugby union is still on on Sat.

Boxing Day speedway sounds good. Standing on the 3rd bend at Berwick with a turkey & stuffing roll, a few chipolatas, and a glass of mulled wine. Why not lol
