That's about right...

Moaning about the way the guest facilty is consistently applied, rather than running the sport with no need for guest facilities at all...

If they spent more time promoting the sport instead of making up ludicrous rules which means lengthy conversations around how to apply them, (with all the subsequent fall out and ridicule around them making the whole thing look pointless), then maybe, just maybe, the sport would be in much ruder health..

And maybe tracks wouldn't close so frequently due to landlords not getting the rent potential that 3000 fans at each meeting could let the clubs pay..

Interesting article in the (excellent again), Speedway Star with the KL co promoter saying that with 7 teams there isnt enough riders..

What nonsense..

The whole of Europe and Scandinavia is opened up with fixed race nights..

The fact those riders might not want to  come over definitely isnt down to a lack of rider numbers..

And if 7 man teams means not enough cover for replacements then simply reduce the amount of riders per team which will then create a surplus...

No. Let's keep doing the same thing each year and get that fiddle out whilst the place burns around us..

Because that works well doesnt it?

Exactly.

Promoters have been running a clown show for years and now it's finally started to catch up with them.

Cheers. It was the Belle Vue preview having Justin Sedgmen (G) 7.11 that threw me!

A guest assumes the average of the bloke he's replacing

Understand, but hasn't the SCB now downgraded Luke to 75% of that figure? B)

Irrelevant. For example a 8.40 rider can replace an 8.00 rider at home but he still, and always has, assumes the replaced riders average.

75% merely refers to the quality of the guest that can be used.

So if Sedgmen were to be injured in his second ride Wolves could use Douglas and St Worrall as IRR for the last two programmed rides.

Whoops, have I found another loophole?

I would have said what a load of bollox! There's British riders sat on the sidelines without clubs to ride for... and that is a scandal!

You only have to browse through some of the names competing in the Polish U24 league and it makes for very interesting viewing, the young Aussies seem to be giving Britain a swerve these days and a lot of the European talent are electing to ride in it instead of our lower leagues, or the upper one for that matter

I presume  Wolves can still use S.Nicholls on a 5.28 ave as a guest..

We're speedway fans. You could make a Harold Macmillan reference and we'd still be of THAT age.

Why wait till after the 28 days then moan? The situation hasn’t changed from the second Luke got injured till now.

A short term injury replacement could have been signed (and I seem to remember Nicholls being announced as such before this was reversed)

Yes, Wolves announced Nicholls then apparently he was injured and was going to miss the Belle Vue matches so it was reversed
