Always easier to plan YOUR season when you have a promoter on the mc,then teams like Glasgow have to fit in around what's best for them, clubs don't plan the fixtures the bspl do.

All clubs get a draft fixture list which they can make alterations to dependent on availability of riders and any other big sporting occasions that may affect attendance.

Or maybe it’s just that Leicester & Glasgow were the better teams and didn’t have to qualify so they could have couple of weeks off. The price of success eh!

Perhaps both Glasgow and Leicester could plan their fixtures better so there’s no long gap? We never seem to have this issue at Poole.

On any average season each club would lose a couple of meetings due to the elements. But many clubs front load their season so by the end of May over half the season has gone. Poole on the other hand try to plan their season so that every Wednesday in the summer months has racing. Add in some success and we get a meeting nearly every week until the middle/end of October.

Promotions need to plan their season out so there’s a steady flow throughout.

Absolutely. I don't understand why clubs wouldn't want to run every week right through the summer holidays, my own club is one of the worst and its bizarre. Have the Play Offs in August if need be and run the cups in Sept and Oct. Get the league title decided when kids aren't at school and the weather is good.

If only the weather and availability of tracks could be planned the same way.

It would help if promoters got away from the concept that “finals” have to be held towards the end of season and plan for KO cup & similar to culminate earlier in the season.
The league fixtures could then be wrapped around the “cups” leaving the latter part of the season to be available for play-offs & finals & who knows maybe an individual meeting.

Do'nt forget that Leicester run two teams. There have been rain offs and also they have had to wait for other teams before the cup semi-finals.

Yes, particularly with so few rounds. The pinnacle of the absurd is the NDL cup final which is still outstanding, despite the entire competition consisting of just two semi finals.

They've run EVERY weekend, except against the GP and on Aug 27 when despite best efforts no opposition could be found.
