Here lies a question. Highly hypothetical but if there is a championship next season and tarasenko wants to ride in it for Glasgow. Will he still be on the 5 as not enough meetings for a real average or if close the loophole will he be on an assessed average based on prem?

One would imagine that the rules (which haven't been written yet, so definitely hypothetical) would either be that his real average takes precedence or it is the higher of tye two so his Prem average would be the one to count.

There are other possibilities, for example a weighted average:

m x 1.3 x prem average + n x Champ ave

-----‐------------‐---------------------------------------------

                             m + n

Where m and n are the number of matches used in determining respective league's greensheets

Scott Nicholls wanted to ride in the Championship, got stopped, got lawyers in, then was accepted.

Everyone saying that the rules are wrong, worded wrongly, loopholes galore but until a group is put together of ex promoters, managers, riders to make up an impartial committee with rules to suit then British Speedway will continue to struggle.

Still time for Poole to react. (all in the best interest of the sport)

We don’t need to. The Fords got their team building right from the start of the season and didn’t have to go around throwing a massive wad of cash at the death of the season to compete, like Belle Vue did last year with Lambert.

The problem is the rule as it based EVERY rider riding in all the leagues in Poland, Sweden & Denmark on the same average. Ekstraliga riders should be at least an 8.

Yes as is obvious from Tarasenko (an Ekstraliga heatleader) and Wojdylo (a league one second string) the same average.

It would be like giving Jye Etheridge and Brady Kurtz the same average.

I don't think it should be when they sign but when their first meeting is.

There was me thinking Robert replaced a rider who's season had been finished by injury.

To be fair the rule which determines Tarasenko's average is complete bobbins. However the idea that Glasgow will now waltz to the title is daft, he will make them stronger but their shortcomings are still present. It now makes it a three horse race rather than two. And I'd be surprised if they've had to break the bank to get him to ride....he's over here with bikes and a workshop etc already, his racing abroad is now finished and he's probably grateful for the extra meetings.

No issue with Glasgow making a signing the rules allow them to make but this is beyond the pale in terms of ridiculousness. The bloke has the same assessed average in both leagues. Stupid.

British Speedway strikes again.

How much has it cost us ?

Serious question.

It used to be GP riders not allowed in Div 2.

When was  that exactly? Presumably after Carl Stonehewer if at all.

Does anyone think anything will change with the rulebook for 2024 with regards to averages ??

There's not enough Crayola pens or Crayons to fix the rulebook as it is.
