Oxford vs Poole KOC SF 1st leg 30th May

Interesting that Oxford don’t stream. Most clubs now do and it’s an extra revenue stream for club finances.

Same people who own Berwick though and with their admission policy a good chance it would affect the crowd.

All four Pirates come through tonight unscathed and in decent form. Lawson had a solid meeting and we should be at full strength for tomorrow night. Looking forward to it.

Outrageous roller from Kerr in heat 9 which the whole stadium saw except the Ref Durno.

Was a bit worried when 8 down and still had H13 to come but did well to pull it back. Would have taken a two point loss before the start. :t:

Good meeting well done to Poole for keeping close. Not impressed with the Poole fan who relieved himself directly under the cctv camera in the Unipart car park a sure way to lose that facility

Poole beaten for the first time since 2006. Just like buses, two will come along at the same time, and Cheetahs also to win 46-44 tomorrow.

Very good meeting tonight and they way Poole fought back when 8 down was pretty impressive. Considering 13 and 15 had Nicholls, unbeaten at that point, and Sam Masters off 1 and 3 in both, the pirates could have been looking to pull back up to 16 points in the return. But Worrall produced a great ride in heat 13 and Lawson got ahead of Masters for a surprise 2-4 to dent Oxfords hopes and in heat 14 ripped out any realistic chance with a 1-5 to go two up. Nicholls and Masters gated to win the meeting for Oxford in heat 15 but Poole had negated the risk and it would be a major upset if Pirates don’t go through to the final.

Ref Durno excelled himself though in heat 9 allowing a clear and obvious flyer for Kerr. The whole stadium saw it but the ref turned a blind eye. Poor show.

Special mention for Kyle Newman with his paid 13. Going to miss his scoring prowess when he swaps with Rowe.

Made the trip up from Swindon for the battle of the speedway scum bags (only a joke!) The racing was much better than the Robins friendly earlier in the season. Nicholls in heat 4 was absolute class and heat 14 proved you don't have to have a pass for it to be a good race. The team riding by Cook and Newman against a flying Jenkins was very good. Very impressed with the Cook boys. Always a bit jealous when I go to Oxford because of the state of my team but nice to see the good crowds still holding. A rare success story in British Speedway!

Your blue tinted specs stopped you seeing Dickie move at the start,
