BERWICK BANDITS v POOLE PIRATES - Saturday, August 5th (7pm)

Recommended Posts

Hans Anderson turning right on Steve Worrall on the back straight then left down the home straight was definitely the highlight of the night - unreal

Berwick lack of Heat winners had the biggest say on the results.6 at home is very poor.

Its a recurring theme for Berwick home meetings.

Dangerous explains it better. He tried to move Lawson over on the 1st bend and nearly came a cropper himself.Ask Boxall if he was happy with Han’s move on him.

Football teams have squads, speedway isnt run like that, we have a guest system.

"Speedway isn't run like that" is not quite true, Sweden and Poland both run squad systems. "British speedway isn't run like that" would be the correct statement.

In football comparison, we (British speedway) are probably kicking around the Vanarama national League level of international speedway.

If Complin isn't on the shopping list for Berwick 2024 after his performances there this year then there's some cages needing rattled.

Complin is doing nothing special at Berwick it’s just Berwick are not very good at home.

What about signing a rider just for the play offs, does that show integrity

If its a signing replacing an injured rider who is out for the season then absolutely. You are obviously referring to Lambert last year, he wouldn't have been signed had Fricke not had his awful crash in Poland. Better than guests!

You'll have to explain to me @foreverblue why my reply was funny. It even went to court and was decided upon by an independant judge, which shows that the BSPL are so incompetent that they don't even know their own rules.

It is. Along with clay tracks, home tac subs and race jackets. I'm just turning into a grumpy old man :D

But I care about British speedway and hate seeing it going down the pan by its own doing.

I'm with you on the home tac subs one and some of the ruling of guests (though it is a big can of worms to sort out!)

A perfect summation of why you cannot take it seriously...

Why would "Ablitt" be the only alternative?

Is it because there is an "Ablitt Rule" for guest riding, similar to the "Bomber Rule" that seems to be in place for Heat Leaders in Div 1 and 2?...:D

Not the only alternative, but currently the best of the 2 pointers (2.13) and is familiar with most of the Pirates from last season, for the continuing team spirit!:D

For all the whinging about Complin guesting for Poole, there has been very little solution been given, and the majority of solutions given being an absolute load of crap. At the end of the day riders are for the most part paid for points, and at this level it isn't always the best paid job. So if Lee can earn some extra money taking a guest booking, then I can't see the problem? And its hardly something new, guests have always been part and parcel to speedway, a necessary for a dangerous sport where injuries arise.

The way I see it is Poole shouldn't be punished for a rider getting injured, so the suggestion that they should have to field a lesser averaged rider because they're at reserve is ludicrous. And if a rider can earn extra money, they should also be allowed to.
