Just hope fans will support a higher level speedway with weakened teams

But even non-league National League football is £20 to get in these days. Unfortunately some casual fans won’t realise the actual costs to put a meeting on. Marksman 536 Posted October 22, 2023 Just to add to this with some geeky calculations too, based on a minimum wage worker. In 2018, you’d have to work 2.04 hours (£7.83ph) to get into speedway. If it’s £20 in 2024, you’d have to work 1.92 hours (£10.42ph) to get in. I know there’s a lot of other life costs increased also, not least interest rates. But it gives a slight perspective on entrance fee increases.

Surely you just put a geographical restriction on buying the stream. Home fans go to the meeting but away ones can stream it. I think Edinburgh have something like Geographical restriction set up, and I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that if an Edinburgh supporter couldn't attend due to illness, that if they contacted EMTV that they could bypass the restriction to allow them to buy the stream. Apologies if the last bit is my brain playing tricks on me. I streamed pretty much every Oxford away meeting that was available, that wasn't on the very wonderful BSN, I'm sure plenty of fans of any club also did. Good little moneyspinner for the clubs once they've gained back the initial expense of buying equipment and setting everything into place.
