More like hasn't stopped raining all week !!! Apparently car park and surrounding areas were under water yesterday,  and if meeting struggled to be on, the car park area would have been damaged and taken a few weeks to repair, so a sensible decision to postpone the event. Heard the track stood up well but extremely wet

Assume the car park is a grass field ?

Yes , mostly grass and some gravel.

Hopefully the rearranged date will go ahead and still attract a good crowd.

Sunday 24th March at 2pm.

Sadly not.  The 24th would have caused some riders having to withdraw, and to maintain the standard of the event, it will be restaged later in the season.

Yeah it’s a big shame, still get to see some action next weekend with the P&P day on Sat 23rd at 12pm

Totally agree with that but can you imagine the howls of indignation at how the field was not the standard that had been put together for the first try at running? Another case of whatever a speedway promotion does, it is wrong in some people's view.

Unfortunately it has now had to be postponed until later in the season due to rider availablility.

Why not race it the Sunday of the Polish Final (there's 3 of them to choose from). Don't think there'll be any Polish League fixtures these days, so apart from the top Poles, everyone else should be available.

Should run the British Final the same day as one of the Polish finals for the same reason.

Beautiful day in workington today. Think the decision to call this off was a huge mistake.

What a farce speedway is at times, certainly doesn't do itself any favours at times

Certainly not a farce, if you’ve been down there you would know that.

The place is flooded, it would have been a farce had it gone ahead. One bright blue cold morning does not dry out a months worth of rain.
Maybe some work to level out the affected areas like the pits gate will take place, but they can’t do anything at once.

It beggars belief how some "fans" think that, just because it's sunny today, they think the meeting should go ahead, despite the fact it's been raining "all week" and "speedway is a farce" because they can't control the weather.  Give yourself a shake, man.
