I really want Workington to do well and prove the doubters wrong - they can definitely make a statement tomorrow night. Yeah was first match I looked for when fixtures came out. Great to see Craig proving a few people wrong

SteelShoe 520 Posted May 3 (edited) Tigers at home still favourites for me but it could be very close. Much depends on how the Comets reserves go as well as Dan T guesting for Antti. Edited May 3 by SteelShoe
SharpenRake 1,512 Posted May 3 I'm seriously worried about this one. I'd take a win, any sort of win for Glasgow.
MB723 15 Posted May 3 Could be close, with the form Cooks on right now he could be unbeatable. Looking forword to seeing how Tate does (though hopefully he takes a couple of rides at least to learn the track ) and hopefully Claus has forgotten how to ride the track while he isn't wearing red and white. Like the look of the Workington team, if all the riders ride to their full potential all season they will easily make the playoffs. Think it could come down to who's reserves fire up first.
Marksman 556 Posted May 3 Looking forward to travelling up for this one! Sounding like another large away following from the Comets. Just a shame it potentially could be only the one visit to Glasgow this year. Hopefully not with BSN series / playoffs. I was majorly suprised when I saw Jack Smith's score last week, but looking at who he beat for those points, Oxford's 2/3/4 Atkins, Heeps, Jenkins. It's maybe not as suprising. Would hope he won't be repeating that against Tate, Dan Thompson and Vissing. Shame Antti is missing he would probably love the track UTC
Neila 1,206 Posted May 3 Looking forward to travelling up on supporters bus, this meeting is on a knife edge either team could win, and imo either could implode !! Hope its a good watch for both sets of fans UTC
TheWellBehavedWorrall 326 Posted May 3 Lots of confidence and optimism from a Workington perspective - understandably so - but Glasgow are the reigning champions and it’s at Ashfield, so I remain confident. The reserve scenario has been a nightmare. Losing one reserve (Complin) before a heat has been raced wasn’t ideal, but to lose the second reserve (Pijper) in only the third meeting of the season was brutal. It’s a big meeting for Pearson, Flint and Starke. I’ve said my piece on all three, so won’t exhaust the point, but hopefully tonight’s the night they make a significant impact on the final score. Also, great to see Cook at the top of his game again. I was critical of his professionalism last season, but British speedway is a better place with an on-form Craig Cook in it. Having said that, I hope he scores zero. Only tonight though.

We have a 50 seater coming your way and plenty in cars so here’s to a cracker night of Speedway and a comets win. Like you say it’s like the old days and that’s only a good thing . See you for a pint Paul!

Diablo 21 Posted May 3 Few showers around Ashfield & it will help the track tbh after a spell of dry weather recently.Should be green lights for the meeting to go ahead no problem.
