Well looking at updates it looked like Howarth wasnt troubling the scorers much so dont see how a 5-1 was on the cards. -
Apparently their reasoning was “due to the final of the Premiership Knockout Cup”. Looks like PM put his foot down for once -

Not so sure about that, you were only 4 up going into 14 and Howarth & Kemp were well capable of getting a 5-1 in 14 and it could have easily been level going into 15
