What about the other 27 riders that rode for Poole this season? I don’t require/desire a response!13 points

Absolutely wrong there SS, King's Lynn finished top of the league so they were the best team over the season 100%. Poole just got lucky in the play offs.8 points

Although a licensed Promoter at Peterborough I am, like everyone else involved in the Club, a willing volunteer. I offer my time and expertise freely, simply because of my love for the sport.6 points

Selling any Speedway track as a going concern will be like selling a shop currently sat in any one of hundreds of dilapidated high streets, precincts and parades around the country... You will be selling that business surrounded by dusty window fronted shops displaying signs saying 'closed', 'for rent' or 'for sale'.. With several more, who are still open, displaying 'everything must go' and 'closing down' signs. With the actual building itself, in line with virtually every other building adjacent, having an interior and exterior that's hardly changed in the past fifty years.. And if you do consider purchasing the business, your planned opening hours, a fundamental part of your business plan, have to be agreed to by the businesses adjacent and by your employees who will tell you when they are available... Hardly going to inspire you to invest in a location or business like that is it..?5 points

And just to show how consistent the SCB are they have suspended Willie Dishington for making a mistake in the play Off SF between Belle Vue and Lynn when he incorrectly ruled out Steve Worrall for a heat 15 ride, but appear quite happy for an SCB official to allow Morris to ride for Poole when his average rules him out. Its wrong and in my view raises questions on the integrity and honesty of the SCB official allowing it.4 points

Guests for a missing number one only. R/R for missing 2 to 5 in averages. Teams to name an unattached NL no.8. If both teams are using R/R then top reserve moves into the team proper and number 8 comes in at reserve.3 points

The luck was deffo in Poole's favour. Lynn had NKI injured Sunday and MPT on the Monday. That's speedway I guess. Toffy gets brought down and he gets excluded, that's speedway as well I guess. The bit that I don't like is Poole's use of Morris at Lynn. I Don't blame Poole. We all know they will try and get advantage where they can. Lynn was going to use Ellis and Morris when they was free. Not ideal, but legal. So the rule was changed for the final..I suppose that's fair enough. The bit that boils my piddle is the bit where they wavered the average rule for Poole...….Not changed it for everyone !! Just a 1 time special. Don't matter who agreed to what rider rides where, it should not of been allowed.. Ellis for Poole x 2, and Morris for Lynn x 2...….. Fits without changing the average rule for 1 team and changing it back after the final I can't remember it ever happening, and I doubt it will again !! Before the Poole tints start, I said this before the final.. Thinking about it, didn't Morris outscore Eliis by 4 at Lynn? I wonder if the rule will be wavered for the cup final.... and re instated after it.... I doubt it .. Makes the sport look silly...again. Yes Poole won the league.. Lynn was the best team over the season, who also was bottom, had the best away record to boot, just unlucky and wronged in the final.3 points

If he doesn't want to ride in the UK thats his choice. He should not be prevented from riding in the GP qualifiers or the British championship if he wishes. It's not his fault that the powers that be in this country have made UK speedway worthless. You wouldn't be forced to stay at your current work place if it was on the verge of folding and ran by idiots, when you had better offers from elsewhere. Especially if you were self employed!3 points

15.8.1 If the Referee stops a heat, following an incident or accident, where the rider causing the stoppage and his team partner were in third and fourth place and a re-run is called with one of those riders excluded, the Referee has the sole discretion to order that the remaining team partner will start on a 15 metre handicap in gate position c or d (the opposing team does not change positions). The rule says nothing about 'staying down' or intent. In my view it's all about preventing the classic scenario of a re-run resulting in a total different result from that which was almost assured before the stoppage. In last nights case the ref did the right thing, it was highly unlikely that Klindt was going to pass the two Lynn riders. Had he been right behind them, and with a fair chance of passing at least one of them, then I'm sure the ref would have had all 3 riders restart from their original gate positions. I think it's a fair rule.3 points

All this nonsense about Poole Speedway is up for Sale “If I receive the right Price” Well actually this applies to every Track in the Country, A Speedway Club is a Business and every Business has a Price, There is not a Promoter in the Country that if someone offered them a offer they couldn’t refuse wouldn’t sell,2 points

Treble world speedway champion, Tai Woffinden, was interviewed recently by the Polish Media: daily sport newspaper "Przeglad Sportowy" and leading speedway website sportowefakty.pl Here are most interesting fragments of it in my translation. (…) You dedicated your third world title to Tomasz Jedrzejak, who tragically took his own life last August . Who was he for you? He was a friend. I rode with him for many years in the Wrocław team. He wasn't just a teammate. I knew him on the private level. When it turned out that we lost Tomek, it was a terribly sad day for me. In such moments, one does not understand how it all works, why one lose such a great guy. However, this is life, situations which we have to face. I wanted to point it out . (...) Former Poland's GP rider, Krzysztof Cegielski, said that speedway killed Jerzejak. Do you agree with this opinion? If Tomek, or someone from his family told him so, then perhapas that was the case. . However, if neither Tomek nor any of his relatives said anything like that, then people should not speculate what contributed to this tragedy. I think this is something bad. You won three championship titles. Is it possible to compare them in any way? Which one tasted best? Definitely the one from 2013 tatste best. It was my first championship. It was a very important moment for me and an amazing feeling. There is a very big difference when you talk about the title from 2013 and 2015, because I won the first championship in the last round. Two years later I enjoyed the championship during the penultimate round in Toruń. It was really strange to go to the last round to Australian Melbourne with the knowledge that I do not have to fight for anything anymore. My reaction to this championship was also strange. I thought to myself: "Ok, cool, but we must be thinking now about the next title." It was not such an amazing joy as the first time. Five years ago, you said: Absolutely no children for the next 10 years, because I want to get more championship titles. Things have changed a bit in this matter. Was your little daughter in the stands an additional inspiration? Definitely. I confirm it one hundred percent. My life has changed. Five years ago, I was just beginning to get acquainted with my present wife. There were no serious plans. We did not even talk about children. Things have changed when we got involved seriously. Then we decided to marry and we started thinking about a child. Now my life challenge is to make sure that my daughter have everything she needs. It is up to me to provide her with financial and mental support . That she would have the best chance of fulfilling her plans in life. When you won the gold in Toruń, Faye, your wife cried. What was her role in this success? We've been together since 2013. She helped me win three titles. 2014 and 2016 were difficult seasons for For various reasons. I had some successes there, but not at the level I would like to have. She helped me to survive these moments. When I come home after riding, sometimes I'm happy, sometimes pissed off. She endures it all patiently, although for her it is an emotional roller coaster. Thanks to her, I always have a safe haven at home. When I started dating her, she did not know what tspeedway was, and even now she is not particularly interested. The fact, however, that we love each other so much, makes her able to enjoy my sporting happiness. When I am successful, she is happy herself. Tears in Torun probably were tears of joy and happiness, that something I worked hard for the last three seasons, something good for both of us, I have managed to achieve again. Have you had any moment of doubt this season? I do not have moments of doubt. I believe in my skills, I believe that if the best version of myself gets on the track, thenI will be the best. Many experts say that to become a speedway world champion, you have to drive hard, sometimes even unfair. Do you agree with this opinion? I do not agree. Let anyone show me one race, that I rode hard and sent someone in the fence. If I overtake someone, I do it clean. I do not foul anyone, I do not push out anyone, because I can do it in a completely different style. We ask about it, because in Poland there is an opinion that Maciej Janowski does not win medals in the world championships precisely because he is too soft. Maciek is my friend and I think that he will prove to many people how wrong they are. Were you surprised that Nicki Pedersen - three times world champion did not get a permanent "wild card" for next year's Grand Prix? No. There is a new generation group of speedway riders who deserve having a chance. For example, Leon Madsen, who in the Polish league proved that he is world class rider. I am for the refreshment of the cycle. Young riders are able to add a bit of madness and excitement to the Grand Prix, because they are hungry for successes, hungry to get more out of every competition. Speaking of young people. In Great Britain, after years of drought, a young and talented "shotguns" appeared: Robert Lambert and Daniel Bewley. Are they able to break into the Grand Prix? How long will it take them to do that? They must ride in the Polish Ekstraliga and Swedish Elitserien. If they score good points there, in each event, then they will be ready for the Grand Prix. If they can not do it, they have nothing to think about the world championships. They will not be ready forit. Freddie Williams, Peter Craven. Are these names telling you anything? No. They're British double individual speedway champions of the world. Winning the gold medal for the third time, you have improved their achievement and became the most titled speedway rider in the history of Great Britain. It does not matter to me that I am the most titled British rider in history. What matters to me is that I achieve the goals I do set for myself. I set myself a task, I try to concentrate on it, to realize it. History, future, other things do not matter to me. What matters is the satisfaction that after completing my work I can achieve my goal. Does it mean that you do not think about catching up with Ivan Maugera and Tony Rickardsson and the six titles of the individual world champion? I’ll catch up with them. I'm sure of that. It will be difficult to do, considering that at the beginning of this year there was information that you intend to end your career in 5 years time. That's not true. Polish media made an error in interpreting my interview, which I gave in England. I was asked about the goals for the future. I replied that maybe I will ride for the next 5 years and then I will finish my career. Maybe I will ride for a year and then I finish. Perhaps I become the world championship and say that is it. And perhaps I will be like Greg Hancock and will compete for the next 15 years or even longer. The information you are talking about lacked the full context of what I said and one key word: maybe. So for how long will you ride speedway? For now, it is, as it is. I am enjoying my riding. I love what I do. If in the future I will still enjoy speedway then I will continue to ride. When the day comes, that this sport will not give me pleasure, then I will end my career. Some say it's easier to get a title than to defend it the following year. You failed to do it twice. Do you have any plans that for the third time it will not happen next year ? If I knew what mistakes I made, I would not commit them. To find out and understand... these are the keys to avoid disappointment. Now I will have a third chance to correct my mistakes and I will do everything to avoid them and defend the championsho title.2 points

It is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for it. Given that I find it hard to believe there is a club in British speedway which hasn't made a loss over the last five years, the value of every club is zero. You are effectively buying an expensive hobby.2 points

1. I would say one league, but unfortunately there don't appear to be enough riders. Unless we have six man teams (All premiership teams mainly consist of championship riders). 2. North-south divide to reduce early season travel cost, but at the same time create a two league system. Where the top four in each group could meet in a play off for the league title. 3. When the split happens for the play off, the lower teams go in to a competition for a shield trophy. 4. The split mid season for the playoffs would rejuvenate all team supporters, as an influx of new riders/teams would be like starting the season again and give teams something to play for. 5. Start the league at the beginning of the season and keep cup matches etc for the later part of the season, where if the weather intervenes the matches are less important. Just my thoughts......2 points

Now that’s what a strong Edinburgh side thought when they brought a 28 point lead2 points

Fixed race nights haven't worked, clubs have lost more money because they ran on traditional non speedway nights. the only way fixed race nights will work is if we attract new fans who have not known any other race night, think we all know that wont happen2 points

I would agree Klindt has been terrific for Poole this season, vital contributions at important times, like when he re-passed Holder at Somerset. He hasn't always performed at championship level but I can't remember a bad meeting from him and is a great guy to have in the pits.2 points

I would have normally have agreed with that until this year. He has passed quote a few riders at Poole and certainly made passes in the semi at Somerset. His gating is outstanding though and the reason why his passing is not noticed. Rider of the year for me.2 points

The problem is that the riders are self employed and so don't belong to any club. The whole asset system is only kept in place by the BSPA the minute a rider threatened legal action the whole thing would collapse. The only way a club can have any legal control over a rider is to sign him on a multi year contract.2 points

He might very well want to ride in the UK next year, and without doubt all supporters would love to watch him racing here. He really is becoming a fantastic GP prospect and for him the economics of the job will eventually have to dictate where he works. Like the rest of us he is still waiting to find out whether or not we'll have speedway in the UK and at what level next year, because he'll need top quality competition to keep him progressing. I must admit he has really impressed me this season, not only in his racing but in his off track demeanour and interviews. Good to see him smile and look like he's enjoying life.2 points

Once again the usual suspects stick the boot into Laurence Rogers. In doing so, they show just how subjective and prejudiced their views are. As can clearly be seen from those - including me - that were there, this meeting was dreadful for one reason and one reason only - the state of the track. That was, by any standards, bloody awful - rutted, bumpy, greasy and patchy. Its why the riders spent more time battling with the surface than each other. That, of course, was entirely the responsibility of Leicester Speedway and completely out of Rogers' control. As a further point to those who choose to blame him for everything, he also wasn't responsible for the lousy weather, rider absences or the food (which looked positively revolting). While I would admit that the programme wasn't good, aside from that the organisation - at least as far as I could see - was pretty decent (unnecessary interval apart). Every heat and rider was sponsored, as was the meeting. It began on time and ended in reasonable time. All riders received a memento of the occasion and body colours (also sponsored) were auctioned for the SRBF. I'd never pretend to be unbiased where Laurence is concerned. But to blame him for how poor this meeting was is totally wrong.2 points

ME too but all good things come to en end and, frankly, not sure he was still 'putting bums on seats' ... not even in Denmark.2 points

The gp series has been dull? I can only assume you have always found speedway dull. Gp series has been excellent, as was the SoN. And pretty much everything from the NSS. Racing in ekstraliga has been typically good as well.2 points

Speedway must be made affordable for fans, riders and promoters. You can't keep chasing the tail of a country that gets ten times the crowds that we do and unlimited sponsorship due to it's high profile status. Look inward and make some moves, instead of talking about it but not implementing it.2 points

Correct... No point in buying into a business where all the businesses around you are closing down.. Retail businesses often close due to foot fall dropping due to other outlets adjacent going bust... Put Simply, Team Speedway needs teams (and a wide variety to maintain interest)... The Sport desperately needs a clear direction and an injection of radical ideas... With I would suggest a collective 'Brand Speedway' marketing plan... Instead of individually paying thousands out each week to riders who put hardly a bottom on a seat, pay a marketing company to achieve exactly that.. Work together and not against each other... It might already be too late but has to be worth a go..2 points

I think you are right to see parallels with Woffinden and Hamilton. Both made it to the top the hard way, both have been World Champion more than any other Brit in their sport and - for whatever reason - both their successes stick in the craw of some of the more "traditional" supporters in their sports.2 points

I live in the West Midlands and classify myself as a Wolves fan, but before that lived in East Anglia and for many years Lynn was my local track. Yes, I admit I'm biased, and really, really wanted Lynn to win, and had they been able to field the riders available as at the completion of the Torun GP I'm sure they'd have walked it. The loss of Niels, and his subsequent replacement with an inferior guest, was probably not in itself the fatal blow; that was the incident at Poole that undeservedly led to MPT's exclusion when he clearly received a push from the Poole rider on the inside (Specsavers anybody ? I assume the ref had tv replays available, and it was clearly visible on BT Sport) albeit not deliberately or maliciously, and his subsequent loss from the rest of that meeting and the second leg on Wednesday.2 points

Everyone hopes that titles are won by brave and exciting overtaking moves and that you can heap praise on the champions Sadly the 2 moves most pivotal to Pooles success were Kurtz injuring Holder in the semi and Jackobsen injuring MPT in the final No intent for sure in either case but more important than any points won in the completed races that followed Without those 2 incidents no doubt Poole wouldve not won either tie2 points

from a simple selfish point of view i hope 2019 is the same as 2018 as ive seen some outstanding speedway this year at many tracks, and for 15 or 16 quid ive been very well entertained the racing at Scunny has been top draw this year, seen excellent meetings on well prepped tracks at Boro,Redcar ,Workington,Sheffield etc, plus the BT sports presentation of the League and the GPs have been tip top,Also enjoyed the unfancied teams emerging this year such and Worky and Berwick [ ill even confess to become a secret Bandits fan toward the end] only bad meeting ive seen all year was the Swindon dust bowl on TV i hope the clubs with an uncertain future manage to find solutions and arrive at the tapes next season and entertain me as much as they have this year1 point
