I mean come on buddy you are having a laugh surely ???? For a start a face to face conversation is less likely to be taken the wrong way or there be lees chance of any confusion .Secondly a speculative conversation (im guessing ) between a handful (im guessing) of people you know, is completely different to putting it on a forum thread currently viewed 45,781 times do you not think ?6 points

Because they are personal problems .. Would you like any of your personal problems discussed all over a speedway forum ?6 points

Opening shot of a 75% empty stand. WHEN WILL THE BLOODY PROMOTERS OF THIS SPORT LEARN!!!!!!! It is absolutely unforgiveable to present this look on TV week after week.5 points
-
At the track it's will have been one to one ( probably mates) conversation or a small group...slightly different to putting it out on a public forum. Mind you I think you already knew that and you're trying to stir it for some reason5 points

I think the Masons deserve credit for getting Ellis in and I'm sure they will find an adequate replacement for Zach. Also credit for continuing to reach out to the younger generation by having face-painting and 'Chase' from Paw Patrol at PB last week. Plenty of extra shale on track too, so they are trying to invest in the club and make sure everyone is entertained. A great programme and always nice to see Peter Mason on the door welcoming the fans in. Nice touch.4 points

It is a phenomenal operating model they use isn't it? All trying to win competitions that because of the way they operate them, via a ridiculous set of rules, are rendered virtually worthless... All expecting riders to have the best kit they can get, and paying out sums far in excess of the sports true standing to assist them to purchase it... Fortunes being paid out by riders and promoters resulting in admission costs that are set at the level they are to try and cover that outlay rather than reflect what is actually on offer.. And all ultimately to win competitions hardly anyone gives a monkeys about...? It is truly a race to the bottom isn't it?4 points

Do not expect Shovlar to give credit to any team that rides anywhere other than Wimborne Road. Extremely slanted viewpoint. Ipswich are doing well, good luck to them.3 points

Don’t agree. If we had bigger hitters up top we wouldn’t have the strength in reserve or the solid look from top to bottom. We’ve beaten teams comfortably this year with our top scorer not even hitting double figures. The team is built so that every rider from 1-7 score half decent points, which totals up to winning meetings, and being competitive in others. Belle Vue are a good side, especially at home obviously, but if this was a play off final I’d fancy our chances of finishing this off at Foxhall.3 points

I watched Peter Collins, Chris Morton etc riding for Belle Vue in the 70s and 80s. I also attended Ellesmere Port during the same period. Despite being a lower standard, I never yearned to see the superstars when I watched the second division lads. I just loved speedway.3 points

Totally agree with Fordy, the lack of different opposition at The Abbey is tedious. The same 6 teams, Belle Vue, Wolves, Poole, Peterborough, Lynn, Ippers, up to 3 times a year. Was much better years ago with 18/19 teams, and 30 meetings a year. Only seen speedway on one Thursday so far, and it's June. Let the top boys go.3 points

I was looking over the business case for the new stadium on the Allerdale website and it states that Town are free to charge the Reds to play on Derwent Park ! That same business case doesn't make one reference to the Comets!! Shame on you Allerdale !!3 points

I don't think he will be riding for anyone for a while. Always enjoyed watching Ben ride for Redcar - hope he can get things sorted.3 points

The amount of likes you got for this post just shows how delusional the UK is about Brexit. How is EU law affecting immigration to the UK from Australia? Or are you expecting freedom of movement between the UK and Australia after we leave?3 points

Ford moaning he lost a five figure sum v Ipswich in the Speedway Star and admitting he has tried every marketing trick he can. Eastbourne admitting they might miss out on a five figure sum if they went toe to toe with Speedway GP and Champions League Final and actually explaining the logic behind it. I'd say one Club with it's head in the sand and clueless what to do next; and one Club with it's finger on the pulse and the balls to admit they won't run knowing they will lose money but not trying to con anyone with a stupid excuse but telling it straight.3 points

I wonder if the game plan from Workington Town RLFC is to carry on screwing all the sport in the town to maintain itself? They've bled speedway for years and now look like they have carte blanche to do the same thing to the Reds, when exactly are they going to stand on their own two feet and generate their own income? Looking like they want to remove all the opposition by bankruptcy means so they are the only sport left to watch, job well and truly done then?2 points

Fricke must have known Harris was there. If certain other riders had of done the same thing, imagine the uproar on here.2 points

What a fantastic race track you guys at Belle Vue have. The place should be packed every week.2 points

Been watching a lot of Polish Speedway this season.. The racing tonight has been more than resonable so far.. If this was Poland there would be a great atmosphere given some of the close racing... Sadly, even good close racing hardly raises more than a polite round of applause when your sat on your own.. If 1700 Aces fans had been in the Grandstand having been charged a tenner to get in.. And Ippo had brought a coach load who had either been let in for free or charged a fiver to sit in their own part of the stand.. You would have atmosphere and 'proper celebrations'... And a great advert for the sport.. And who knows maybe some watching might think it worth visiting?2 points

Fair play to the camera man... Keeps zooming in far enough to show 20 fans together... Edit: He's just done it again. .. Maybe they will all swap seats for the next time to make it look like it's a different section?2 points

With Dany in particular struggling on the tighter more technical tracks, has he ever spent anytime up at Duns at the training track in an attempt to improve his ability on these types of tracks ?2 points

If anyone wants to contact the new Allerdale executive to express their feelings and insist that all available help should be forthcoming (land, financial and infrastructure) should there be an initiative by any group or individual to run Speedway in Workington then here are the relevant e-mail addresses of the new executive members . Reading the release it also said Redcar were going to respect his privacy. Im not going to pretend i like or respect Barker because i don't but as he has stepped away from speedway he is entitled to have his private life left private and not be subject of fishing exercises by those who know little but assume much.2 points

This season is going same way as last season with injuries blighting us. Hope Jason heals quickly. On a positive note Danny Ayres has been a great signing and becoming a fans favourite-well done on his fine showing at Redcar.2 points

NOTHING wrong with the track when Zmarzlik and Woffinden were passing and re-passing which begs the question: if they could do it, why couldn't others? Do we too often blame the track when, in fact, it is the riders not making the best use of it?2 points

i think in the short term nothing, longer term i don't know. If financial problems hadn't precluded Comets running in 2019 then in the absence of any other current option it would have been their home certainly for the next 2 years and probably longer. Bearing this in mind then, the extent of damage that has subsequently been done to the track is way different to what would have happened if Comets had been running in 2019. The question is then, what has/ or is going on for Town to change the scope of work to the extent where they have probably precluded speedway ever being run there again ???. Town are the ones with least to lose here because even if the Community Stadium doesn't happen then they have got a brand new pitch costing circa £100K and got rid of Speedway . On the face of it that is very poor form indeed and unless there is another plan (i'm dreaming on THJ) then its nothing short of dispicable by all parties concerned.1 point

this is definitely the way forward. And we need to stop worrying about riders' earnings - they can only earn what can be afforded to pay them. So what if big names are lost- generally i find the lower down the leagues the more interesting the racing anyway. Don't worry about shortages of riders - they said that in '68 and '69 about Div 2 and lo and behold there was plenty - quite a few of whom went on to be top internationals.1 point
