  1. Depends what you’re looking for. I’ve quite enjoyed this and think it’s been decent. Not amazing but decent.

  5. The sliver lining for the forum though is that the loon who used to come on here banging on about him no longer does so.. Seemed to stop posting on here altogether... Wonder what happened to them?..

  6. Falubaz has gone a bit quiet. Perhaps he has just realised his team are very mediocre. They should have signed Lambert. He would have done better than most of this shower.

  9. Where did you get that figure from? There's no way a private helicopter would cost £100,000.

  10. British league is far superior. It actually helped me to fight insomnia

  11. There always used to be touring teams going out to Aussie for a few months during their summer, I agree, GB could have (and still can) organise a touring team to take around Europe for the rest of the summer to get some much needed continental experience, in fact it's an ideal opportunity at the moment due to the lack of domestic league racing

  12. Just watched the video of lodz v Tarnow( rain affected) and fair play to Adam Skornicki who sprinted on to the track when Norbert Koscuich disappeared under the air fence in heat 7. He worked extremely quickly to get to him to see if he was ok.- Top work.

  13. Really looking forward to the meeting it’s coming up quick 19 heats with some quality youth and some experienced hands . Also awaiting answer from ringitsneck on question posed.

  14. I would far rather the SCB / BSPA concentrate on British affairs. Why should they be interested in Poland?

  15. A bit late in the day but I have just watched the youth championship held at Scunthorpe and those who bemoan the quality of racing at this level should take a look again. Heat 6 is just one example. Raw talent reminiscent of speedway in the late sixties and early seventies when grass track riders gave speedway a go. In those days it would throw up some riders who would excite and my most memorable was at Rayleigh when Ivan Miller beat Boston's Arthur Price. What a race for those who were in the stadium on that bank holiday Monday These young lads today deserve every speedway fans support. They get out on track and give it a go and the gutsy performances deserve so much more and not the criticism that seems to be par for the course. Speedway purists will understand, those who believe the current league set up is the be all and end all a requires the skills of Doyley or similar to make the sport entertaining are deluded. If only tracks like my local, Ipswich , would put on a few of these amateur meetings I am sure the ‘anoraks’ of the sport would support the meetings and many would be happy to pay £10 to watch these lads entertain. To those at grass roots level you are appreciated.

  19. I thought the first meeting wasn’t too bad, unfortunately any Rybnik meeting is a forgone conclusion which takes some of the jeopardy out of it. Robert needs to start gating like he was in the first part of the season and in the SEC on a regular basis if he wants to move up to the next level.

  23. Be good if Premier would put their hands in their pocket and employ both Alex and Dave Goddard to work together. Better to have two commentators. Holder really doing a fine job so far.

  24. Strange isn't it? You race a multi round, prestigeous competition and come second and you're not automatically "promoted" if the winner qualifies for the GPs some other way. But if you finish 4th in a one off meeting with a relatively poor line up, you do. No offence R&R. You're not responsible for the FIM.

  27. So far worth spending £100,000 To get Holder to ZG. A better opening race already with brilliant team riding from the Poole pair.

  28. It’s a bit better than standing about while they repair safety fences and waiting for ambulance to arrive at the track in GB,which is the norm the last few years.Tracks do seem to be a bit slicker this year though.

  29. I have seen the sad news that Jan, former Cradley rider and father of Frederik has died of cancer at a fairly early age. Born in 1965 http://www.cradleyspeedway.co.uk/riders/jakobsen.htm I had seen him a few times helping Frederik out when he was doing 85cc and also when he was team manager of Vojens last time they were in the Danish Superliga. A nice cheerful guy https://fyens.dk/artikel/jan-jakobsen-bliver-holdleder-i-vojens-2008-10-13

  33. But as I said earlier, that is not quite the case now that the FIM have changed the rules. Up until this year, position 4 last night could hang on to the hope that Matej Zagar qualifies for next year by finishing high enough in this year's GP series. Now the FIM have closed that door by saying if a top 3 finisher from the GP Challenge qualifies some other way (Challenge or SEC), then they will award an additional wildcard. I think this is so unfair. To give existing GP riders a free shot at qualification for the following year (especially via the challenge) and to effectively exclude another rider, makes a mockery of the qualification system. In the extreme, we could imagine three existing GP riders finishing in the top three of the Challenge and thus making the Challenge completely meaningless.

  38. The winter tours to Australia used to be beneficial in bringing riders on...Gordon Kennett came on a bundle when he was chosen to tour during the winter of 1975/76.

  39. Zagar is clearly in the world's top ten at present (look at Ekstraliga averages) so clearly deserves to be in GP. What is bizarre is that he has qualified before turning a wheel in this year's GP.

  40. Tony was always developing equipment usually based on agriculture machine equipment. He was an engineer that worked on farming equipment as a living. He used to try things out at Newcastle such as fine sprayers behind a tractor instead go water dripping down, spraying equipment with the long arms out. He wasn't for deep lumpy tracks, but smooth tracks moist on the top, from a good and regular watering. Did the same for Hull and Worky and Redcar.

  43. The meetings are chosen first and foremost for the standard of the racing. We have a record of how many heats from each match were chosen for the end of season highlights tapes. So while Newport may have had better teams in other matches they did not provide such good racing.

  45. Quite agree hammer1969. I'm asthmatic, which is getting worse by the year, although still very much controlable, and although I wear a mask in shops etc; I do find they hamper my breathing after a while, and I start to panic. I've tried Face Shields, but find they mist up all the time. So whilst I'll wear one at King's Lynn next Sunday, I'll have to keep lifting it up to get some fresh air, which I have to do in shops.

  46. Why should we not be attending public gatherings. Not all medical conditions are visible. Myself and many others are able and entitled to make the most of our lives and that includes enjoying/watching sports/theatre/cinema etc. If I felt unwell I would not be going out in the first place. Just because some of us can't wear a mask doesn't mean we have to lock ourselves away, understanding and tolerance is needed in these uncertain times by everyone.
