  1. Depends what you’re looking for. I’ve quite enjoyed this and think it’s been decent. Not amazing but decent.

  5. The sliver lining for the forum though is that the loon who used to come on here banging on about him no longer does so.. Seemed to stop posting on here altogether... Wonder what happened to them?..

  6. Falubaz has gone a bit quiet. Perhaps he has just realised his team are very mediocre. They should have signed Lambert. He would have done better than most of this shower.

  9. Where did you get that figure from? There's no way a private helicopter would cost £100,000.

  11. There always used to be touring teams going out to Aussie for a few months during their summer, I agree, GB could have (and still can) organise a touring team to take around Europe for the rest of the summer to get some much needed continental experience, in fact it's an ideal opportunity at the moment due to the lack of domestic league racing

  12. Just watched the video of lodz v Tarnow( rain affected) and fair play to Adam Skornicki who sprinted on to the track when Norbert Koscuich disappeared under the air fence in heat 7. He worked extremely quickly to get to him to see if he was ok.- Top work.

  13. I would far rather the SCB / BSPA concentrate on British affairs. Why should they be interested in Poland?

  16. I thought the first meeting wasn’t too bad, unfortunately any Rybnik meeting is a forgone conclusion which takes some of the jeopardy out of it. Robert needs to start gating like he was in the first part of the season and in the SEC on a regular basis if he wants to move up to the next level.

  18. Anyone else think that home teams shouldn't be able to use tactical substitutes? Seems an unfair rule.

  20. Be good if Premier would put their hands in their pocket and employ both Alex and Dave Goddard to work together. Better to have two commentators. Holder really doing a fine job so far.

  23. So far worth spending £100,000 To get Holder to ZG. A better opening race already with brilliant team riding from the Poole pair.

  25. Important info from Torun- Saturday`s tickets purchased are valid. Importantly, tickets purchased earlier on October 3 remain valid. Come and see live who will become the Individual World Champion! On August 24, 2020, Klub Sportowy Toruń SA starts selling tickets for 2020 TORUN FIM SPEEDWAY GRAND PRIX OF POLAND, which will take place on October 2 - only via the website (from 10.00): www.kstorun.kupbilety.pl.

  26. It’s a bit better than standing about while they repair safety fences and waiting for ambulance to arrive at the track in GB,which is the norm the last few years.Tracks do seem to be a bit slicker this year though.

  30. But as I said earlier, that is not quite the case now that the FIM have changed the rules. Up until this year, position 4 last night could hang on to the hope that Matej Zagar qualifies for next year by finishing high enough in this year's GP series. Now the FIM have closed that door by saying if a top 3 finisher from the GP Challenge qualifies some other way (Challenge or SEC), then they will award an additional wildcard. I think this is so unfair. To give existing GP riders a free shot at qualification for the following year (especially via the challenge) and to effectively exclude another rider, makes a mockery of the qualification system. In the extreme, we could imagine three existing GP riders finishing in the top three of the Challenge and thus making the Challenge completely meaningless.

  33. Says everything you need to know about Adam Skornicki; a top guy all round. I've never come across anyone who has had a bad word to say against him.

  35. The winter tours to Australia used to be beneficial in bringing riders on...Gordon Kennett came on a bundle when he was chosen to tour during the winter of 1975/76.

  36. Because 2nd place would have been enough to make KK the winner of the meeting. It used to happen in one-off World finals. Many riders (eg Mauger, Collins, Penhall) settled for a second in their final ride to ensure winning the meeting and not take any unneccesary risk. Even a third would have guaranteed a GP place. Instead he found himself excluded and at risk of not qualifying. That's why he could have settled for second.

  37. Another totally different rider when not under pressure.. Could be a real 'spoiler' this year now he has a guaranteed place in 2021.. It shows what fine margins seperate those who ride at the highest level night in, night out, to those who ride better relaxed and look 'world class' for a period of time but can't do it when the pressure truly is on.. All riders at the top level have natural ability based on the very fact they can ride a speedway bike at a level that only 20 to 25 or so in the whole world can truly emulate.. However, only five or so, year in year out, can do it when everything is on the line.. Very similar capabilty at technically and machinery level, but a huge difference mentally..

  38. Zagar is clearly in the world's top ten at present (look at Ekstraliga averages) so clearly deserves to be in GP. What is bizarre is that he has qualified before turning a wheel in this year's GP.

  39. Tony was always developing equipment usually based on agriculture machine equipment. He was an engineer that worked on farming equipment as a living. He used to try things out at Newcastle such as fine sprayers behind a tractor instead go water dripping down, spraying equipment with the long arms out. He wasn't for deep lumpy tracks, but smooth tracks moist on the top, from a good and regular watering. Did the same for Hull and Worky and Redcar.

  41. The meetings are chosen first and foremost for the standard of the racing. We have a record of how many heats from each match were chosen for the end of season highlights tapes. So while Newport may have had better teams in other matches they did not provide such good racing.

  42. It seems that all is not well on the Polish speedway front and after many years of hearing how good it is, with the exception of one or two races and riders, it is pretty bland and possibly a missed opportunity to showcase the sport and themselves to the world which thus far has be relatively deprived of good racing with so many countries unable to hold professional meetings. Maybe speedway UK should focus on its own product for next year, race on days that suit the tracks and build teams around riders who commit to British speedway first and foremost. If the standard falls so be it but it can be rebuilt if you give the riders a chance to race week in week out in the UK. It cannot be any worse than what is currently on offer.

  44. Quite agree hammer1969. I'm asthmatic, which is getting worse by the year, although still very much controlable, and although I wear a mask in shops etc; I do find they hamper my breathing after a while, and I start to panic. I've tried Face Shields, but find they mist up all the time. So whilst I'll wear one at King's Lynn next Sunday, I'll have to keep lifting it up to get some fresh air, which I have to do in shops.

  45. Why should we not be attending public gatherings. Not all medical conditions are visible. Myself and many others are able and entitled to make the most of our lives and that includes enjoying/watching sports/theatre/cinema etc. If I felt unwell I would not be going out in the first place. Just because some of us can't wear a mask doesn't mean we have to lock ourselves away, understanding and tolerance is needed in these uncertain times by everyone.
