It all boils down to the kit I think at the end of the day, the sooner it's slowed down and standardised the better imo.3 points

Just one of those night where things went wrong, no ones fault. Rider safety always takes precedence, which would also include the ref not being able to see because of the sun. The electrical fault was quickly solved and if it had happened on any other night would have caused only a short delay. I took a newbie and she fully enjoyed it, and she understood that it is a rare event for all those things to happen. I assume both teams agreed to run ht 10 to get a result. Redcar has an agreement with the Council to go over the curfew on the odd occasion. The racing we saw was good, and the track good. I hope the injured lads aren't too badly hurt.3 points

Bit of a hollow victory after seeing the crash Ulrich has had , best wishes to Ulrich he will be difficult to replace , hope his injury is not as bad as it appears and he is back with us soon.3 points

The worst rider to come over from Australia , according to the Monarchs , guests for the Tigers against the Monarchs tomorrow . So step forward Jye Etheridge , just a wee reminder to stick it up them , let's finish the job Tigers , this is our year2 points

Blobby usually starts the derby weekend pretty vocal. As the weekend unfolds it’s like a death in the family and goes into mourning , really miss his over confidence.2 points

Doh. Of course, you are right. Troy got his British passport last year and now has dual Nationality. I completely forgot about that. I guess it's definitely not Troy then2 points

We are very lucky at Redcar to have an excellent promotion and that’s why it’s a shame Jitendra is standing down at the end of the season.2 points

I think Jimmy Squibb also rode for Ipswich in the 60's. I didn't miss any of the New Cross home meetings in 1963 and although some visiting riders did get the better of him, Jimmy was generally in a class of his own around the "frying pan".2 points

There are many who feel the same I think, I bought a season pass two years ago for the first time ever, and re-newed at the start of last season. I then took the option of not taking a refund and let the season ticket roll over to this season. I am very un-decided at the minute about next year.2 points

I bought the season pass as early as xmas 2019, expecting there to be a full season in 2020. I thought, as I go to all the home meetings I'd save a few quid and help the club out at the same time. Very disappointed in what I've seen so far. A couple of the team aren't living up to what is expected. The only shining light has been Leon Flint and of course the NL side, Greg Blair in particular. Too much gate and go to make it entertaining. I shall think long and hard before purchasing a season pass for 2022 based on what I've seen this year. I'll just pick and choose meetings I attend.2 points

The referee was Jim McGregor. Phil Griffin called off around lunchtime due to awaiting family covid test result.2 points

Not that Pijper will be a miss at a track like Eastbourne but it's very coincidental he's 'Injured' the same night his lad is in the World 250cc final in Germany I'm sure he wasn't too injured to travel to that2 points

Any notes on how the crowd numbers were? Understrength Mildenhall side scared the leaders who still look to have a few passengers reliant on others scoring big. No way should Ryan Mac get beat my Muff twice anywhere but especially at home. Phillips did a decent job as a guest but you would fancy Jenkins to get more than the 7 RR brought for him. Would think the Bandits got away with it tonight.1 point

Well that was the shock of the season.Leicester's 3 year unbeaten home record finally broken. A truly awesome result from the Pirates who were up for the fight from heat 1 throughto heat 15. Danyon Hume you are a star in the making. All 6 riders including guest James Wright gave their all. Now travelling home with a happy Mr Shovlar. Up the Pirates.1 point

Bit harsh on Summers, granted he hasn't started this season great but he normally rides our place pretty well. If the opportunity ever arose for us to sign him i'd snap him up straight away.1 point

I think that confirms the only people with that sort of disposable income are pensioners obviously the promoters have tagged on to this. We need to attract a younger clientele who can afford lower prices.1 point

If Ben Cook’s injuries had of been life threatening the ambulance that was already at the track would of taken him straight to hospital1 point

Surely you'll hire a plane or helicopter to get Jorgensen up from Eastbourne?1 point

I was always told this was about safety - methanol has much lower flammability than petrol. But it burns witha clear flame which when it does catch light makes it harder to spot. Methanol also has a high octane number allowing the use for high compression ratio engines as used in speedway. Conversely it is less enegy dense than petrol hence more fuel is needed and the "mpg figures" for a speedway bike are so poor. Indy carts used to use Methanol after a number ofpetrol fires , but now use ethanol fuel. I1 point

I remember the Booey Bikes, I went to a "test" match at Peterborough I think... they kept breaking down if my memory serves me right1 point

He also appeared for two other current tracks, King's Lynn and Poole. His name was in the programme for Ellesmere Port at Barrow in 1973, but he didn't ride and the Gunners used rider replacement for him.1 point

Who would you have got in? Baring in mind both Morris and Bowtell have ridden for Newcastle, and Morris hit form at Birmingham on Wednesday.1 point

Jorgy was more aggressive. But that's racing. That's what I want to see.1 point

A marvelous gesture from The Bears promotion, one of the best (if not the best) promotions in speedway. I'll be happy to pay full price for the next meeting, what happened on Friday was out of the promotions control. I agree with the sentiment of Yearbyred, Jitendra standing down will be a loss to The Bears and speedway, although I'm sure the remaining promotors will keep to the high standard Ben has set.1 point

And for keeping us entertained priming gates 2&4 at the interval when there was little else memorable on track. After Eastbourne seems we will be posting a sentry at the start line in away meetings.1 point

Former Speedway rider and multi Hot Rod World Champion, Barry Lee, once described Wisbech as the "ar5e end of the universe" and that was before the stadium was knocked down and a supermarket built on the site.1 point

Massive credit to the track staff last night. Kept the dust to an absolute minimum. Still a bogging shape of track that encourages people to lock up at corners right enough (heat 1 being a prime example). Best wishes to Ulrich. Point dropped for the Tigers1 point

Gutter talk on way but its been a while since i took a " newbie" think she enjoyed it1 point

Shambles of a meeting!! Problems with the electrics, then ref couldn’t see because of the sun!! Crashes and delays due to waiting for ambulance (obvs not Redcar’s fault). People walking out while awaiting for heat 10 which was ran after the curfew as they had obviously had enough, or was sick of hearing Roy talk rubbish in cheering on his new favourite team! Delay after delay and any new fans unfortunately will not return.1 point

I watched nearly all of his home meetings that year but only got to see him at Swindon and Reading and individual events .He certainly made me change my opinion of him he was awesome from memory 1984 onwards only a few names beat him Tommy, Erik, Shawn, Sam, Carl Blackbird, Paul Thorp, Jeremy Doncaster.1 point

Tbf, he was competing against the likes of Briggs and Olsen, who were pretty decent around hyde rd, and PC who shared the home track advantage. Maybe also Ivan had such focus on the world title, that he was not at his peak in the weeks after the "big one"1 point

So did the " scottish " referee object to the start line being graded because edinburgh wernt gating and glasgow were or the other way around??1 point

Just one of those nights. Glad it could get through to 10 heats, but even that was a struggle. Hope the injured lads are ok.1 point

Just sat here and realised Tai Woffinden only in Poland and is free to do the British league if only lol mind you he could do with more track time his gating is shocking1 point

How is it nonsense? They want people at the track. If it's a fair way to travel then the stream is a good option. The nearer you are the more likely you are to go to the track. It's common sense on Edinburgh's part IMO.1 point

Word I have [from two different sources] is that the attendance was slightly up on usual league meetings1 point
