I can only go on the updates, but it seems a great performance by Leon Flint. Peter Adams always tells his riders that their job is to beat their opposite number and Flint has done that. In addition to beating Starke and Kemp he has also beaten Anders Row and Craig Cook. So all in all a great performance by him.6 points

What is the fixation, or maybe bitterness, with Glasgow? If reducing wages at Eastbourne is a possibility, then does that not suggest that the club were paying too much to begin with?5 points

Riders have too much say these days. Holder will be fine in Poland, Batch better pack up for Aus because tracks are closing fast in the UK and they are not helping one bit.4 points

No one with half a brain would invest in a speedway track run under the current structure. Sadly a few owners have dragged the sport down to a point where the only survival route is probably amateur riders racing on open licensed tracks and a maybe a mini league. The BSPL had the opportunity to do something different this year but decided on a tried and failed product formula. If the stories are true and you have the futures of Swindon, Birmingham, Newcastle, Eastbourne, Peterborough, Kings Lynn, Poole (track ownership) and possibly one or two more in doubt then sadly speedway in the U.K. will be a shadow of its former self and possibly resemble France in terms of league racing and Belgium/Netherlands in terms of individual events. The fans and supporters are not to blame, many turn out each week but are pissed on from a great height by club owners and the governing body is solely responsible for systematic failures including squandering t v revenues and pricing the sport beyond those who would have given it a go as well as looking down its own nose on those from grass track etc who may have given it a go. None of those in charge have the balls to come on this forum and be answerable to the supporters. Gentlemen and Ny Ladies, you are cowards and much more you have driven the sport to the point of dying out completely. Your failure to even acknowledge the punter whose hard earned cash you take each week is a disgrace and you should hang your heads in shame except that you have no morals. To the directors, board and whatever you call yourselves on the BSPL you are a disgrace to the sport.4 points

To be fair fo the promoters.. When you have basically cobbled together a league structure, knowing it will be completely bereft of credibility by your actions, for the sole reason of providing circa 90 riders with 126 team places... And they then pick and choose when they will support you back... I can kind of understand how frustrating it must be.. But they run the sport, not the riders, and any buck ultimately stops with them.. As with many things in life... You invariably in the end, always reap what you sow..4 points

The riders should hang their heads. Had to be some whinging aussies involved as well. Refuse to ride, then nowhere to ride. I've ridden on swamp like conditions, you adjust and get on with it.4 points

Very impressed with Broc Nicol at Poole last night. When asked if he'd ridden at Poole before, he said 'never only once to watch'. Couple of duff rides, but once dialled in, he beat all of our heat leaders! With track craft too, not just gate n go. Excellent debut.4 points

So what stops KL sending riders out in 2's onto the track to prove it's rideable ?3 points

I don't blame Buster for his statement but i do hope he changes his mind.He worked his arse off to get the track rideable(Holder).Pretty sure as the refs went by me(home straight)they said it would be off, that was just as Buster started work on the track. Why didn't they tell him before he worked his arse off,did we expect anything else from the ref.Stead and Howarth was pleased it was off, they didn't half looked shocked though when Buster said what he did.Why couldn't a couple of riders have gone out for a spin to test the track?3 points

Slightly ironic that Buster is now fed up & wants to sell up, when much that is wrong was implemented during his time as chairman.3 points

If Matt Ford can't offload the Manchester United of speedway what chance has Buster got of selling the Kings Lynn Town and Posh of Speedway?3 points

The track looked rubbish from outside when the grader came out. This time, for the first time ,I saved my money and went home .seen it too many times before, buster scrapes the slop off then gets in a mood when riders done fancy it. Cant blame them, and for once I agree with troy batchelors usual take on things, if the track is crap, the entertainment is crap, so what would have been a late night watching a rubbish meeting became an early night. Apart from the poor so and so's who were inside the stadium waiting.3 points

All riders should get the respect they deserve. Anyway surely we will see him again at our individuals before the season is out,,,, the star of anglia,,, 16 lapper, Billy Sanders memorial,,, Golden Sovereign,,, to name a few.3 points

Keleher got a bit naughty at Redcar on Sunday though. After a race, going along back straight, as he passed Jake Allen, he yanked the cut off from Allens bike. Redcar riders quickly surrounded him! No idea what he must have been thinking, but seems both stupid and dangerous.3 points

Our old foes Leicester are the visitors this week should the rain finally do one and let us have speedway. Last time the Lions were in town they left with the league title , time for a bit of revenge . Impressive heat leaders in the shape of Hans Andersen , ex Tiger Nick Morris , Kyle Howarth, who was impressive in Monday's British Final . And Ryan Douglas . So 4 heat leaders , Zane Kennedy and the Thompson Twins ( though they're better speedway riders than they were pop stars ) makes this a tough task . We have the busiest guest in the league , Tom Brennan , instead of Ulrich . Well he does ride for Eastbourne so he has to earn money somewhere . We need to get our act together pronto , so no better place to start than by mauling Stewart Dickson's mob . Hope it lives up to the potential to be two crackers this weekend2 points

This is my fear too bluebee. He may have had doubts like this in the past but has never gone public with it like he did tonight.I don't care what some people think about him,he has managed to keep a speedway club going for 30 years there is not too many people about like him.We need more of him to take on speedway clubs for 30+ years but they are on the decline sadly.2 points

They didn't want any of it and that was before Buster got it into better shape.Seems like they had got it into their heads and there was no changing their minds,it worked on the ref too.Disappointed to see Stead wanting it off i remember travelling to Vojens to watch GB race in the WC,it was very wet and he loved it,he didn't want it off that night.2 points

It is somewhat emblematic of speedway's state that its most prominent owner announces his decision to sell, not after poring over a business plan, but in an emotional outburst worthy of a six year old.2 points

To be fair to Buster he worked his ass off to get the track something like to no avail. I can see why he’s upset but then you’ve got rider safety. To most of the public the track looked raceable but what do we know.2 points

I often feel there should be a limit to how long the paying public should be asked to stand around waiting for a meeting to start. I understand all the ramifications only too well but it must be a miserable experience for the fans tonight.2 points

Honestly Like the hedgehog said climbing off the scrubbing brush... Anyone can make a mistake... To be fair mind how often will it happen seeing us on a Saturday and then Berwick on a Sunday at the same venue over the same weekend... After Arnie put that it took about 10 minutes for the penny to drop and I checked the fixtures on the BSPL site and realised I had dropped a Bolo... Never mind I now have the right end of the stick... But if I'm totally honest I even had the wrong team because it's bloody Kent who are up this Saturday at Berwick then on the Sunday at Brough... Big tea and an hour's kip and I'm all over the spot... Regards THJ2 points

Surely the NDL team will be going as part of the restructure? Similar to what Newcastle did? Or..... Could the reverse happen and the NDL team stay and the Eagles go? Would that be a much more cost effective and viable way to keep the sport running at the track? 600 or so fans might be more than enough and those "bumper crowds" that would no doubt rally round when they re open again could help to pay off some of the debts.. They do have a recent history of being in the NDL and weren't crowds decent for that level?2 points

He rode in the GP Qualifier in 2018 I think it was, but pulled out in his first or second heat having come back from injury too early.2 points

Birminghams prices are certainly competitive as I'm sure they let 16-22yr olds in for a fiver, which is student aged, I think 12-16 is £2 and under 11s go in free. The centre green kids entertainment is something that the promotion have been doing for at least the last 4 or 5 years, only stopped by covid recently, same with the pits visits and track walk, so Birmingham have been doing good things.2 points

Worry not the Prem Junior League will spring up next year to sweep in and save the day. Ignore the fact that there was a functional 2nd half development league in place and a semi professional NDL. But fortunately plans have been put in place to scupper both of those to make way for the PJL which will make the Prem teams look wonderful and great saviours.2 points

I think in reality racing doesn't have that much to do with attracting a crowd. BV can't even get close to filling their place for anything other than a SoN event. While people, including myself, turn up every week to watch the cr@p served up at Leicester. It's all about credibility, the SoN is a credible event, held on the best track in the country, with the best facilities, with credible pairs/teams racing against each other.2 points

Tosh by name, speaking tosh by nature. Basso is a young up and coming Dane who is already beating riders with a proven track record in his home country. Cones highly recommended by Klindt amongst others. Only has to average around 4-5 to be a success in the tricky number two berth, and with Ben Cook banging in the points at reserve could end up down there as a trump card. Think he will really like the Poole track and looking forward to seeing him next week against Newcastle. Provided we steer clear of injuries we are going to be there or thereabouts come the pointy end of the season. Looking very good indeed.2 points

I would imagine that supporters of Speedway in Sweden and Denmark would say exactly the same. Undoubtedly in the 60's ,70's and 80's the riders were of a higher ranking on the World stage but those times have gone. Times have changed !! I would state that the quality of racing and the field is higher than when Tai Woffinden won his hat-trick of titles. Then you knew it was the semi final and final were the only seriously competitive races. Getting back to UK speedway now - the issue is the sport and the fan base is dying. Continually the sport is preaching to the converted - it needs to target a new demographic. I am no great fan of Eddie Hearn but it needs somebody of his sports business and promotion skills to drive the sport forward. Speedway is 15 mins / 22 mins of adrenalin fuelled entertainment in 1 min bites. Perfect for the younger generations attention span - the sport needs to be pushed via social media even more - instagram, tik-tok etc Get you-tubers at the meeting and on a bike with a rider for viewings on you tube - Glasgow Tigers one of the better promoted teams and have only 1300 subscribers - Speedway Great Britain has 6920 subscribers - Hashtag FC a football team driven by social media and social media content has 567,000 subscribers - this is where the new opportunity of support is !!! If speedway keeps reaching out to the support it already has it will always be in decline and meet the same continual problems. It needs a drastic change - the sport itself can be enthralling, exciting and entertaining but too many people are not aware of it. All sports are suffering in atttracting the younger generation and tearing them away from phones, tablets and computer screens - The issue is that the sport is methanol fuelled excitement , perfect in 1 min short bites of excitement - the potential is there ... it just needs somebody with the right forward thinking mindset.2 points
