Brilliant gesture and Tony Jackson (last Worky manager to win the treble) is coming over and when I offered him a ticket for free he said thanks but I would rather buy one to help the club which was another fantastic gesture... Regards THJ6 points

The only good thing about another utterly rubbish “no passing” GP was seeing Freddie walk off the track after his horrendous crash.3 points

A well deserved retirement, a great servant to many Northern clubs.3 points

By the way I thought the Scunthorpe fans where we stood were a very friendly bunch, up for a bit of banter.3 points

That's what happens when you leave a top notch track like sunny Armadale and spend too long at a second rate ploughed field like Beirut. Would be interesting to see him on a speedway bike, although it's most likely he would end the evening pointless.3 points

Brennan superb , I would agree Kemp has stalled if not gone backwards. Flint is progressing nicely in the Championship, come on a lot this year.3 points

It's one of the best in the country, would be a bit silly to judge it on a wet night don't you think.3 points

It may not have been invented as a team sport but that has always been the main thing that attracted me for 70years and I don't think I am the only one who has no interest at all in individual meetings.2 points

Disappointed not to see Crumpie again , also disappointing last match ,think that's 5 times we've been beaten at home , usually just miss playoffs this year never near if it wasn't for Leon we would be even worse off. With Spud retiring, don't think NBJ will be back now he has a thriving business to run will be interesting to see the shape of the team next year.Good luck to Spud.2 points

Glad to see Freddie get up from that one, horrendous crash, the GP continues to prove having all the best riders doesnt guarantee good racing, im getting fed up with it tbh, appears to becoming more and more processional.2 points

Do You believe the Speedway would have lasted 90 years in this country without the creation of the leagues and team competitions, or International test matches ? That's what has made speedway so big over here in the UK, Poland and Sweden.2 points

Worst crash I’ve seen live at track, the way Freddie was stuck on bike and hit fence head first feared the worst but the air fence did its job!2 points
-
That looked deadly as Freddie had no control hanging on the front of his bike. Relieved they are both up.2 points

That looked horrific... Freddie looked like he was knocked out on the bike before he hit the fence.. Hopefully both ok.... Edit. Thank goodness both up..... Air fences worth every penny...2 points

Diamonds fan passing through and supporting the Monarchs. Been a bit of a one line track up until ht10 but if anyone can find a way it is Josh Pickering. Great guy to watch and currently my favourite non-Diamond2 points
-
And that’s the problem, they covered the track for days, uncovered it 2 hours beforehand and was bone dry, put some water on it but just barley dampened the surface, decent track preparation needs a full day or 2 of watering to soak into the base. The best meetings at Vojens is when it’s rained2 points

you don't know it won't happen. I appreciate people support their team. But, there is supporting and arrogance2 points

If there is a potential saviour for next season, getting a huge crowd for the next meeting would possibly help him make a decision. If not, it would help Rob Grant lose a bit less.2 points

It was not an additional attraction because they did absolutely nothing to make it attractive!2 points

Well done to the Scorpions tonight. They We're clearly fired up for this meeting after losing at home to Leicester Lions a week ago and throwing away a lead at Kent on Tuesdsy. The rain clearly affected Poole and I was disappointed in the performance. Scunthorpe were quicker out of the starts and had more speed and importantly didn't let the conditions put them off. I have been lucky to have seen some cracking meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway over the years unfortunately the late rain ruined that. You beat us fair and square but just a note of warning to some Scorpians fans. Don't think for one moment that Poole will ride as badly as this come the playoffs and next time if we do meet we won't make it easy for you. Anyway congratulations and good luck In the playoffs.2 points

Riss really has gone backwards when it looked like he would go on to be a superb rider. Shame.2 points

I never said Kasper Andersen was a bad choice just busk Jacob was a safer option, thankfully Kasper turn out to be good. One of the worst meetings I've seen at the EWR in terms of racing but what can you do when you get a down pour before the start of the meeting. I hope you can return in better weather to see what fine racing it can produce.2 points

Cammi Browns position will be in danger with these legitimate well thought out permutations.2 points

Oh dear, a lot of fair weather whingers on here. Weather in Scunthorpe was dry all day and 24c. Light spits and spots at around 6.30pm, track was looking good. Start was delayed due to lots of people sitting in their cars pondering to go or not into the stadium and heavy rain to the West- where the travelling fans were coming from. The track was heavy for first 4 heats and was drying out fast after that. It started raining again at heat 13, when match result was in no doubt. Heavy rain during and after heat 14, so match wound up. Basically one team wanted to race and other beaten before a wheel was turned. TJ was immaculate blasting around the track, Lambo great at reserve, a good guest In Kasper, and the rest all chipped in just where needed. Scunthorpe's ex captain Worrall and ex Scorpion Douglas kept us lively and the rest were pretty average. Your manager made a pratt of himself too!2 points

Superb meeting tonight, Plymouth's fast starting lower order meant Glasgow had to overhaul them which made it great to watch heat after heat. Ruml worked out how to ride the fast line in ht14 and was gradually reeling in Nowak who had a superb debut, much more to come from him. The only down side was the referee letting the 2 minutes run out and riders still fannying about at the tapes a minute later. Its nonsense like that that ruins the sport and puts people off. Its 2 minutes for a reason.2 points

people people people all sensible rules but your all missing the most important decision to be made this year so will the green helmet colour return lets face it its the only thing broken in uk speedway2 points

I think next season Plymouth will be stronger and alot less expensive, onwards and upwards2 points

Disappointing result to finish the season for Berwick, I thought we had a chance to take the points tonight. Poor way for Spud to go out, but he's had a poor season overall. Glasgow looked much sharper tonight than they did in the Cup, especially Sam Jensen. Tom Brennan continues to impress. Rides well wherever he goes and conducts himself well when he speaks in interviews. Has a good future if he keeps going like this. Berwick just don't have the top end strength to compete. On the plus side, there was probably the biggest crowd of the season tonight. Glasgow always bring a big following and create a good atmosphere. One thing that puzzled me tonight, on the Leon exclusion. If it was an unsatisfactory start, should he still be excluded for being the cause of the stoppage once the race has started? Racing was also poor tonight. Struggling to remember a genuine pass.1 point

Cracking point with only 5 scorers. Kye having his worst meeting to date since arriving here been a breath of fresh air this season. I’m sure he’ll be back amongst the points tomorrow.1 point

They are allowing extra time as Sam has 2 in a row and then they announced after that there will be an interval, talk about stupidity1 point

Well to be fair I think it will be a close one 47 - 43 or 46 - 44 but no idea which way... the Diamonds need to show the same spirit they did against Glasgow and we could pull off another surprise... However this could be the 3rd last ever meeting at Brough and the fans need to turn out in numbers to show the Promotion that the sport isn't a lost cause in Newcastle and I don't mean thousands although that would be very nice... but the bigger the turn out 650/750/850 say then this will make the Promotion think again... You werent there so you literally have no idea…. Poole were terrible… dress it up about the track as much as you like but it wouldnt of made much odds and considering we cant shut you up about how good Poole are it was embarrassing1 point

Ian Rankin on Twitter: "Who doesn’t love the glamour of speedway? Edinburgh Monarchs about to take on the might of Birmingham!! https://t.co/4L2iCN0q1M" / Twitter Where I saw it and also in the comments, Richard Osman is 'always up for speedway' ! Who knew lol.1 point

Times were fine for the leading rider who was often half a straight or more in front riding three feet from the fence. The riders behind had no vision and were filled in.1 point

Don't they just drive wherever they like?1 point

Well my contacts are telling me this.. It will be one league next season with a fluid rider system for all tracks, an example below Eastbourne will return so Tom Brennan will revert to Eastbourne on his CMA This is not fair on Glasgow so Tom can take his place in their line up too Tom can also ride for Belle Vue as a rising star as they had first dibs When Glasgow face Belle Vue, then Glasgow must use a guest for Tom up to his CMA as he is a rising star and that takes priority for Belle Vue When Glasgow face Eastbourne, then the home team has the use of Tom with R/R used by the away team in the interest of the sport And so forth.. Very simple and well thought out.1 point

I think that horse has bolted now, and the British leagues just need to try and move forward in a financial sustainable manner without trying to accommodate the multiple International demands they derive no benefit from. If that means teams essentially being made-up of juniors but who're able to turn up every Friday or Saturday, then that's what needs to happen.1 point
-
My point was that if there were more structure to the FIM calendar then it might give British Promoters the chance to structure the domestic season around that Calendar. Allow clubs to run meetings on Friday and Saturday nights if that's when bigger crowds can be attracted. Allowing more riders to participate in British speedway then there might be a chance for the British promoters to provide the type of product which is attractive to spectators. Maybe a 10 team top division with no doubling up (except for perhaps British youngsters) and no scratch teams of guests because x rider is away in Timbuktu losing money while they try to qualify for whatever series or representing GP in the European Pairs nobody sends their best riders to. I'm certain that the likes of Holder, Ellis and Bewley have all missed meetings riding elsewhere this season. And certainly the likes of Kemp, Rowe, Brennan, Flint and Palin have all had to miss meetings to ride in youth championships. Effectively an audition to get a Polish contract probably at the riders expense and therefore effectively subsidised by British speedway. Everyone benefits if these riders progress Internationally but if there's no sustainable domestic scene there'll be no riders to progress. So there has to be a compromise or reciprocal agreement which benefits both International and Domestic authorities. Rugby and Cricket both acknowledge this symbiosis successfully. Football still does even though the club brands are much bigger than the International teams. Speedway is in danger of cutting off its own supply chain. We've already seen New Zealand and Norway effectively disappear. Who knows how long Becker can carry the US flag. And if British speedway keeps shrinking how long before GB and Australia are in the same boat. At a time when most sports (all businesses) are trying to expand into new markets speedway is shrinking there's. I'd probably still watch SGP if it was 16 Poles in a series ridden entirely in Poland as long as the action was good. But I think I'd be in the minority on that.1 point
