We fans base things base things on wot we see and factually know little about. If things were actually explained to us then we might not get annoyed or so annoyed by things like wot we call tractor racing. All it takes sometimes is a simple explanation like yours @BTFC LION to appease us. In that 30mins some entertainment should have been put on by Leicester tho, this is another speedway failing. Admittedly I wasn't at Leicester last night but I do attend regularly. This happens with alot of things that go on within the sport that pees us fans off, nothing is ever explained as to why something is done.4 points

From the BSPA website. Read it as Poole cannot pick Glasgow - PLAY-OFF PICTURE - HOW IT WORKS- The quarter-finals will consist of the 3rd v 6th placed team and 4th v 5th placed team, the top two teams will go direct to the semi-final.- The team who finishes top will have the pick of the quarter-final winners in the semi-finals.- All ties are over two legs.3 points

They sure did, I have the pleasure of remembering those days...full stadiums, crazy fans yelling their heads off and some great racing...... Polish speedway is ENTERTAINMENT plus, and a lot of professionalism thrown in and first class stadiums........I guess that's what money can do when spent in the right places.3 points

Kubera is starting to show how good he could be given the little bit of luck you need in the sport.Class and brave.3 points

Almost every sport is essentially a 'participation' sport. In other words, people pay their dues and take part for their own entertainment. Then, at some level, people pay to watch and it becomes a 'spectator' or 'professional' sport. The amateur ranks far outweigh the professional ones. British speedway is the only sport I can think of where the vast majority of meetings take place in front of paying spectators. But there are not enough riders and not enough facilities for riders to practice and develop. There needs to be an amateur level. Not just an amateur level, but a predominantly amateur level. Seriously. 90% of British speedway should be amateur, 5% 'semi-professional' and no more than 5% fully professional. Speedway is a relatively cheap form of motorsport, especially at an amateur level. For example, a rider in a support class at British super bikes will pay £400 for entry fees, £1000 for tyres and £100 for fuel each weekend. That's doing it cheap in one of the lower classes, and without the cost of buying the motorcycles (think £20k) and repairing them. Out of the 160-ish riders competing in BSB this weekend, I'd suggest 130 are paying for the privilege, around 20 are cost neutral and only a few are actually making a living. At club level, 100% are paying for the privilege. Speedway doesn't have enough riders. This is the main flaw in the business plan.3 points

Full marks to Lublin, it's very rare that you see the team that comes second smiling and enjoying themselves at the presentation. Superb TV presentation in all the meetings today , it makes our TV companies speedway presentation look quite amateurish, although BT aren't too bad with the GPs, would much rather have Polish commentators though on BT and Eurosport2 points

Great to see a different winner in Poland. Over a decade ago when I first started watching Poland, Wroclaw were a tough watch on track and the racing was never much to write home about. Fast forward a decade or so and the club have transformed gradually over time. Superb stadium which now hosts one of the best race tracks in the world. Whoever runs operations at Wroclaw deserves huge credit. The planning and execution has been fantastic to follow.2 points

Average fixing in the last three heats haha2 points

I think the Wroclaw top 4 will pull it back in heats 14 and 15, like the first leg.2 points

I believe there is a god now, because i thank him that i didn't go today. Absolutely pi** poor again going by the score, wonder who the captain was today. Riss was quicker getting married/divorced than he is on a bike right now. Need new blood in the team.2 points

TBH Dave and not your fault but the track sound is better. You get the crowd and bikes coming through clearer.2 points

Spot on starman, why would Poole want to give up Wednesday? It's proven that fixed race nights have not worked in the past. Plus you see more teams in the championship.2 points

Oh oh investigation will now be conducted to find out your real name .2 points

I am beginning to think that us allegedly cheating to fit a certain rider in at Armadale all those years ago might just be true, trying to remember who our manager was back then but his name escapes me2 points

Your name suits you, I'm not apologising for wanting Adam and Troy to do well, I don't have a team to support, so support next best thing our ex riders, you're the one with a problem.2 points

Sure everyone knew, still seems wrong with only six teams, I would have seeded the league winners straight to the final, and next two to semi.2 points

Hans wasn’t amazing, but he only got outscored by Ryan Douglas in his programmed rides for the Lions. He got 8. Nick Morris had 6 from his 4. Douglas had paid 10, plus heat 15 and an R/R ride heat 5.1 point

With their plethora of Monmore track specialists, I expect Peterborough to get to close to 60 and render the second leg meaningless.1 point

Na don't think cookie would've been last in 13 if wasn't over as a contest either. Realistically it's 54-361 point

I must say, 49-41 flatters Leicester today and I mean that in the nicest way possible. Theres no way we line up the way we did in heats 14 & 15 if its the playoffs.1 point

He hated Berwick. Too grippy apparently. I don't see Poole or Leicester being an issue for him, Scunthorpe or Redcar go either way and I'd assume he'll think we've lost the plot when take him to armadale ha1 point

I've always found the Met Office to be the most accurate, but whatever you do don't trust the BBC one coz of all the boobs they make Carol Kirkwood's are the biggest!1 point

As long as the stock cars banger cars keep on using the stadium I guess there is hope......maybe a second hand air fence from another defunct track will become available to reduce start up costs ?1 point

Na no idea. There's knowledgeable guys like Michael involved with every club so you would like to think some like minded folk. But as he said getting unanimous backing is highly unlikely as everyone is pushing their own agenda. Still good to know the powers that be know the status quo can't be maintained1 point

Well if you don't ask you don't get. Message for you Iain.... Stewart Dickson on Twitter: "@bluepride32 @SpeedwayLions So I see. Tell Ian B to come and see me on Saturday night at Leicester and he can ask any questions he wishes or ask why he didn’t approach me as I chatted to the many Leicester fans as I walked round the terraces before the meeting on Saturday ?" / Twitter1 point

The whole concept is inherently flawed isn't it? Riders are paying out huge sums of money to buy what they feel is the required kit, to either get, and hold down, a team place and earn money, or further their own ambitions on the world stage... With the money they earn needing to be of a level to afford the kit they need, and provide them with 12 months salary for a six/seven month job... And to earn that level of money they then ride for all and sundry on an ad hoc basis to get as much as they can.. An ad hoc basis which cripples any credibility that the sport has, and reduces it to a contrived farce... A farce that drives people who loved watching Speedway,, (and still do), away... And if the farce that masquerades as a 'proper sport' isn't enough to drive you away,, admission fees then reflect the cost of the salaries of the riders rather than the credibility or entertainment level on view.. With the farce being so contrived it renders all the competitions worthless, from a kudos point of view, yet costs hundreds of thousands from a salary point of view... And all done on nights and days when the riders, rather than the customers, dictate to you when you should run.. An amazing plan... (An amazingly unfit for purpose plan)... Yet..... What a fantastic core product they have to sell.....1 point
