  1. Breaking News** Si Kellow, the new promoter confirms Kent will be racing at Iwade in the NDL in 2022 via Facebook. Some will point out its a massive step backwards from where we were a few months ago, to those I say it's a massive step forward from where we were yesterday.. League Speedway in Kent lives on.

  2. Personally think Leicester to be applauded for sticking with twins this season, particularly Dan. Seen it so often young rider gets to the "difficult average" and gets dumped back to NL or go backwards for having to find a place in a weaker side. Playing the long game that may not have a challenging side next season (IMO), but for following years the may be able to consistently if twins progress

  3. well what actually happened was they ended up in the same town, not sure if it was after a meeting or not, both probably drank a little bit too much RL was taking a p!ss in the car park, RW saw what he thought was a long-haired attractive woman semi-clothed in the car park, a drunken exchange was made which gave RW what he thought was the green light to proceed, then obviously this lead to the embarrassment of RW realising it was RL After a very firm no, some handbags so to speak were exchanged RL accused RW of being in the wrong and saying he shouldn't approach people in car parks RW accused RL of being in the wrong for having long hair and shaving his legs

  11. The 'sale' to Buster never went through and Buster has had no say in Ipswich at all!!.

  12. Its never going to be a level of CL #7s as they will want paying. The PJL will basically be a MSDL level so NL reserves and others making up the numbers (because lets face it half won't want the midweek travel to then sit and wait until the end, treated like 2nd class citizens and quiteboften not get rides anyways). Its a cheap way of providing "extra value" to a night (until the standard is shown to be so embarrassing that the whole thing is dropped mid season)

  13. No white lines today unfortunately... job was abandoned... rain and snow stopped play... however I popped down today before going to another call out in Durham and in the hour and a bit I was there the lads had put down 180 ton of shale... in fact the shale was going on the track that fast Steve Lawson was struggling to keep up grading it in... however knowing Steve as I do and him being a bit of a perfectionist that surface will be spot on come next March... all 1200 ton or so of it... Regards THJ

  14. I'm really pleased had convinced myself he would have moved to a track closer to home. He comes across as a decent lad as well as being a brilliant prospect. His decision to stay with us also shows loyalty to the Glasgow fans and owners. Did I say I was really pleased

  15. The bond is round about £10-12k. Teams then have to have a retained list with minimum values depending on the league. Something like £15k for CL and £25k for PL. If they don’t have that, then they need to lodge additional cash to top up the values. All very antiquated - retained lists need to be abolished and replaced by a far higher bond of at least the £50k that you quote.

  19. Sweden's going bust. In a year from now they'll be worse off than British clubs. Some of the 2022 Swedish line-ups are woeful next season and it's a two team league as everyone else is putting together a 1-7 that wouldn't even with the league in Britain tbh.

  23. As an ex dog man, who still has contacts within the Sport this is 100% correct, the only thing you forgot to mention is ARC also have major interests in Horse racing Tracks, but the model is pretty much the same with that ie all weather Tracks if possible.

  25. If true and Batch has gone to Ipswich. Replace Batch with Tungate who fits within points limit to i.m.o make an even stronger team.

  27. The problem is ARC and their "business model". They have realised that they can run Dogs with or without Crowds during Covid 19. By getting Betting Levy income they can run behind closed doors, minimal staff, minimal costs and make more profit in a couple of days than Speedway (or anything else) will pay in a season in rent. Their argument would be that they don't need the hassle! Live Dog racing beamed round the globe is as close to a virtual sport in the flesh as you can get. They have taken over Perry Barr, Newcastle ; Sittingbourne. Hopefully no more dog / speedway venues will fall in to their clutches.

  30. For their first season I thought both did very well. It’s no big deal if one rode a little better than the other. It’s too early in their careers to know who will come out better. They will have their whole careers trying to get one up on each other, like the Worralls.

  35. Problem with Ostergaard is that prior to injury his performances were greatly above what were expected. The RR and guest facility worked massively in our favour.

  41. I'm amazed that the PL promoters are 'happy' to run a six team league that offers little to no variety of opposition. Sad times continue.

  43. Perfectly highlights the biggest flaw in the RS system It's wrong that one team can gain such an advantage (potentially) even when it your own team!

  45. Plymouth have put together a decent team. Certainly an improvement on last season. But their top riders peaked a while back. They should be strong at home but struggle on their travels. Won’t drop many points at their track. If they scrape into the playoffs it should be considered a very good season for them. I don’t believe they can realistically expect anything more than that.

  46. I think the best thing Joe can do is to change his surname... Like Mikael Karlsson, maybe it would stop all of the inevitable comparisons. People don't seem to be able to talk about Dan without mentioning Joe in the same post (I've just done it myself!). I thought Dan had a solid season, progressing from reserve to become a solid No 2 at home and should only get better in his 2nd season. Joe, a solid reserve and again should only improve in his 2nd season.

  47. I'm glad you have decided you are "right". So, as the "clueless clowns" (and I would be interested to know who your "some" are), don't have an answer, I'm interested in what your recovery plan would be.

  48. He has always rode Brough well, and agree he is a top heat leader on a false average. I think a change will do him good (if in fact he does ride UK next season).
