It might be considered the north of England but the league is UK wide. It’s the same travel time from Poole to those venues as it is from Edinburgh and Glasgow.5 points

Tero shot himself in the foot a bit... he applied for a Tier 2 Sports Persons Visa and it was taking ages to come through so he thought he would apply for a UK Tier 5 Temporary Worker Visa in the mean time... however what Tero didn't realise is/was you have to let the process run its course and you cannot apply for a different Visa whilst one is still being processed... So he got a phone call of the Visa and Immigration people asking him what he was doing (was it dodgy and was he trying to enter the country illegally and other such questions) so then the whole thing got put on stop until he gave some acceptable answers. So when you say he broke the rules yes he did technically speaking... however was it malicious or wilful... No... he's just a bit thick... which also explains the minor issue he had/is having with the track and trace people when rather than being in the house where he said he would be in isolation he was on the M6 heading to Plymouth for a meeting with Scunny... Not the brightest bulb in the box but his heart is in the right place... Regards THJ4 points

Couldnt have put it better myself Yep thats whats needed, Im a Cradley fan and so far no Brummie signing has given me the Wow factor in fact exactly the opposite, now wether or not such a rider is out there Iv no idea but riders that put bums on seats is whats needed, so far the riders signed wont be costing a fortune which leaves more money for a genuine No 1, how much would Nicki P cost ?.3 points

Think it will depend on the last two riders, but a few are saying that it's jake Allen and Ryan Douglas?3 points

Millions of pounds given to the teams by Sky since then too... Quite an incredible "achievement" to deliver what we have today...3 points

Yes it is… You’re on the South coast f f s, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Berwick are all 8 hours away, that is the middle of nowhere, just like Glasgow and Edinburgh are. All meetings that are for ALL teams, should be hosted somewhere CENTRALLY, not on France’s doorstep3 points

Season pass prices announced, thought they would have named the 7th rider first.3 points

Not if some riders get a 2.5% discount, not if you missed a season or two, not if you are riding in a different division from last year, not if the Eastbourne fixtures get removed, not if you were a rising star, not if you are on an assessed average being a rider who has never ridden in the UK or are returning from a serious injury.3 points

I'll just say this ...if we havent made a change by the time the first CMA green sheet averages are out. It will be a blooming miracle !3 points

We had the world Cup final in 2004, and that worked fine, fans from Poland, Sweden got there ok, so shouldn't be a problem3 points

Even in the boat race Oxford don't have an anchor so there's no need for Jack Smith.2 points

Connor Mountain was brilliant for us up at Newcastle and I was gutted when he didn't sign for us. He held his own as a third heatleader when really, he shouldn't have been in that position to start with. I am really jealous that yous have signed him. Connor will easily hold his own at number 4 imo. Or even number 3 1. Nick Morris 2. Dan Thompson 3. Connor Mountain 4. Kyle Howarth 5. Richie Worrall 6. Joe Thompson 7. Anders Rowe WHAT A TEAM!! Always gonna have one amazing reserve (two tbh if Joe kicks on also) and 3 brilliant heatleaders. I would put Kyle at 4 to strengthen heat 14, so there's a strong end to the meeting. And as I say, Connor should hold his own at number 3 imo2 points

If the Lawson to Poole rumours are true I’m sure we will be looking for a high loan fee or full transfer to offset this cost.2 points

Nothing: Berwick are sorted; a peace deal was signed in 1966 by a Russian diplomat and the the Mayor of Berwick. As the mayor said at the time: "You can tell the Russian people that they can now sleep peacefully in their beds". (and their sheep can now roam freely in the hills)(cough cough) Well the first bit is true but the bit in the brackets is just embellishing the story somewhat... if he didn't say that I bet he was thinking it... Regards THJ2 points

Correct... it was apparently a "little misunderstanding" however that nice fella Rob Godfrey got things sorted so @Neila can get down off his high horse and credit to the Chairman of the BSPL for resolving the minor blip... It will save @Neila a couple of quid as he will still be able to use his old Hat; Scarf; Clip Board; Jacket; Flag; Beanie; Pyjamas; Underpants; Sweat Shirt; Polo Shirt; H18tory Hoodie and Advertising Strip in the back window of his car. "Win Win" (Win Win Win Win Win Win Win Win Win and Win) there then Neil eh... Hugs and Kisses to big Bad Rob G as all's well that ends well eh Neil... Come on Workington Barbarians... Oops... Connor Mountain is the secret weapon in the side. He rode most of the season at 3 & 5 for Newcastle, Connor will be a second string for Leicester so he's capable of scoring big and upping his average by a point imo. Leicester & Glasgow both look very good sides to me.2 points

Like the diamonds last season & it wasn't to bad at Newcastle at least we had speedway2 points

Maybe with the crowds that Poole regularly attract in the Championship, all tracks should be 'in the middle of nowhere'?!2 points

Like I've already told you, you are getting what's left. What were you expecting?2 points

Total rubbish. Having an event for teams spread throughout the UK on the South coast makes little sense. The same could be said if it was scheduled to take place at Ashfield or Armadale.2 points

Typical southerner, close minded and no concept of the UK at all, have a look at a map for once Sheffield to Poole 4hrs 16mins Sheffield to Glasgow 4hrs 26mins Manchester to Poole 4hrs 38mins Manchester to Edinburgh 4hrs 11mins Sheffield is perfect and the closest to the middle possible, Belle vue the second best for fans of ALL teams in the UK2 points

Yeah don’t think we had many other options with limited heat leaders available2 points

Why, they not gonna turn up the league meetings then if it is too difficult? Surely they will choose a track that generates a big crowd as don't the Bspl take a percentage from the gate receipts if it is a Bspl event...?1 point
-
I would think Tero knows that as well. This team is built to win(hopefully) the home meetings but will lose a lot away(as I have posted previously) & the riders Rob has chosen DO score well at the EWR. This last season proved that if you win your home meetings then you will reach the play offs.1 point

How can you say a track is in the middle of nowhere when it is a five minute walk from a railway station that has an hourly or better service to and from London?1 point

Did he not get a Polish gig for next season as well as his Danish commitments. Remember reading that somewhere a while back. But with no room for him at Glasgow next season Berwick would be a good fit for both parties. Needs more consistency but when he is on it boys a racer.1 point

Can see it being them with the increased points limit definitely a strong top 3.1 point

A rudderless ship without a suitable Captain, John, for far, far, too many years.. Crying out for someone to properly lead it... You only have to look at the threads for teams struggling to get a decent team together next year to see how ridiculous the whole operating model is.. The "collective" are desperate to keep as many clubs going as possible, (any Speedway must be seen as better than no Speedway), yet they dont ensure as a "collective" that every team has a fair chance of being successful. Yet they will use a supposed "team equality" mechanic which we all know to be far too subjective when it comes to previous riding numbers in the teams rode for, home track advantage of previous tracks, amount of meetings done, assessed averages depending on where you are from etc to be of any tangible accurate use.. Some teams next season in Division Two will, once again, have three heat leaders of a high level, (on a par with some in Div One given they will be the same riders), and other teams will end up with second strings having to take heat leader positions. The result? Well, we know that dont we? The teams using second strings as heat leaders will struggle at home and be dreadful away. However all will come to the tapes "relatively equal" and no doubt every team will talk up their side. "Strength in depth, always have a good reserve, all can put two points on their averages", etc etc etc.. What the "collective" (still after all these years of doing the same thing year in, year out), fail to grasp, is that unless EVERY track can be competitive then you will never move the sport organically forward... Getting visited by teams who are "cannon fodder" simply cannot be good for the host clubs business, yet they happily allow such things to happen... With the ultimate irony being that a few will throw hundreds of thousands of pounds into their teams to try and win something with only marginally more kudos than winning a meat raffle at the local British Legion. With the lack of kudos, financial rewards and publicity, all down to their very own operating model.. In short mate. No. The sport hasnt moved on.. (Over here).. In fact you would have to say that it has regressed a long, long way..1 point
