  3. Certainly a good early benchmark for the reserves with the Redcar pairing probably the lowest combined averages in the league (but certainly capable) against the new and returning Diamonds pair. Also intrigued to see how BWD copes as a number 1? personally i think he has what it takes but a lot will depend on him this year.

  4. He’s definitely that as well! Despite seemingly having the world at his feet at such a young age, think we’ve gone past the stage where we can expect anything more than a good middle order rider. He hasn’t shown that he’s consistent enough or good enough, to be challenging for the number 1 spot in the team and odds are he probably never will. But every team has a Cam in them, and I’d rather have one that entertains like he does. I still think he’s a good sensible signing for us on his average and I still maintain he’ll put a point minimum on his starting figure. Because of his liking of Foxhall, he’s a far better signing for us than he would have been for anyone else put it that way.

  5. FWIW I'm happy as it is; I like the Morris/Douglas engine room and putting Worrall at five is like a vote of confidence in him, which should help at a new club. I think the change of track will do him good; it's no reflection on Belle Vue but sometimes a long relationship can go stale and it may suit both parties to split.

  6. Thought the live stream press and practice was brilliant today

  7. Edwards is way better than that. Very impressed with him when was guesting for the enemy at the end of last season

  8. I can't answer that as i'm not part of the Birmingham management team You could also ask the question why Leicester's Management are desperate to run a KOC Meeting opening night against a weakened team instead of a challenge meeting or Individual like most clubs.

  9. Edwards is a talent.IMO.Expect him to show good improvement this season.

  11. Lemon's had five months to sign 7 riders and is the only team manager out of 25 clubs across the three leagues who has failed to complete a team. It seems he continually gets rewarded for failure.

  12. PuK has already said he cant race over here once his teams on the continent get going due to the polish rules, otherwise I would assume lynn would have kept hold of him( gutted they cant )

  13. Now everyone has completed their sides, at least temporarily, here goes: 1. King's Lynn 2. Sheffield 3. Wolverhampton 4. Peterborough 5. Belle Vue 6. Ipswich

  14. Maybe some fans don't go to P&P now because of social media.Plus with the Kerr meeting on Sunday many fans have seen the riders in real action. Back in the day when P&P was well attended you couldn't get to see anything online. Now people expect it to be online so they don't have attend a P&P. There is a good and a bad side to social media imo.

  15. Not many photos around online but no Iversen or Lawson in the ones I can find? Planning to go to Ipswich next Thursday if the weather behaves, would be nice to see this team start the season with a couple of positive results against the old enemy.

  16. Decent meeting to start the season I think Jack was a deserved winner. Tobias looks a class act. Kyle was the usual Kyle in the mix most races but Adam looked a bit inconsistent. Can’t see it been too much of a problem and expect him to be back to where he was last season. Doyley looked like he was going to go through the card and looked very fast. Hope he’s ok after that nasty smash. Well done to all the lads taking part. Look forward to the rest of the season now

  17. Can't believe disrespect to a guy whose been a top performer in this league for a long long time before he's even turned a wheel in anger. Have your opinions but reverting to name-calling I find totally pathetic

  18. It's a shame Newcastle couldn't see fit to host Robbo's meeting with him being a Diamonds legend. He only had 1 stunted season at Redcar (and a short spell at Middlesbrough) but he has been a great servant to the sport and deserves his farewell meeting regardless.

  19. I think they will struggle AT Brough Park!

  20. Hard to read too much into that really. No idea what BWD was doing wiping out Roynon after heat 1. Very poor. Clegg rode well for the Diamonds and was the main threat alongside Wright. Complin showed enough that he will do OK I think. Kerr was never going to be beaten if not for bike issues, and all three heat leaders looked good. Roynon did well, and impressed with the reserves - Edwards deserved more for his efforts. Cant really read too much into this I don't think - but should be a good battle for the Bears number 1 spot this year.

  21. I think BWD, Complin and Congreve are all going to take several meetings to get up to whatever speed they are capable of, and Starke was a big miss. Plus Redcar look one of the better teams so it's not and shouldn't be complete doom and gloom for Newcastle.

  23. Without having any figures to back it up I would hazard a guess than most riders have a differential of 1.5 - 2 points between home and away figure The very best of course are just good everywhere and those are at the top for that reason There are also the true one track specialists where the gap is vast. I seem to recall the likes of Adam Allot averaging nearly 8 at home and barely 2 away

  25. Absolutely right he does. And I think he would have done again eventually last year if he’d have been kept on, although nobody can really argue with Louis’ decision to drop him and reshuffle the team. He loves the home comforts of Foxhall and when he’s on song, there are few as entertaining.

  26. Very early days obviously... But ominous... Destroyed a decent field...

  27. 95% of fans only ever see home meetings and their view is skewed accordingly Winning home meetings and having riders that can entertain at home are two of the top factors in attracting a decent attendance Cam generally ticks those boxes even when struggling a little elsewhere

  28. The late eighties and early to mid nineties were my golden era at Lynn as I'm a little too young to remember the seventies and early eighties. Henka, Loramski, Brhel, Richard Knight, Bobby Ott, Lofqvist, Emerson Fairweather etc. Always seemed to be last heat deciders and the racing was awesome with proper shale. And on Satuday nights!

  29. I think he’s a favourite because of the way he attacks the track at Foxhall (bar last year). He’s never been particularly good away, but at home he’s often been a match winner and entertains with his outside blasts. Covatti was also popular on the terraces, for the same reasons.

  30. I'll be very happy with the the team after the cups over. I think 99% of the aces fans will to.

  31. It's only a handful of people on a forum. At Foxhall last season, I stood on the back straight for the home defeat by KL, and was surprised by the number of people who seem to adore Heeps - he was in very poor form, making mistakes and losing places, but they were cheering and saying how 'unlucky' he was. I reckon there are as many Heeps fans as there are for King. The majority of Witches fans are simply happy to have nice blokes riding for their team.

  32. Now living in Australia. Did you sit in what he called the 'royal box' as he called the grandstand without a roof!? Agree, Mike Bennett did a good job and I liked his names for the riders - Chris 'milk it' Millsy sticks in my mind. It built things up a treat.

  34. 100%. If there was a chance then it was worth pursuing... And, (whisper it gently).. It is only UK Speedway after all, therefore there isn't too much riding on it (pardon the pun). There won't be any wider media national recognition of success, nor will there be big financial rewards for any winners, And you cannot get relegated... And the worst they can finish is sixth, meaning only two places outside the play offs, so conceivably for most of the season they will still be there or thereabouts, meaning some interest will be maintained.. And the NSS provides great racing so, even if they have a few defeats they will still be worth watching. Crowds at the old place held up very well considering the extremely poor teams the Aces had for a fair few years, (with many consecutively), and the racing was nowhere near the level of the new place. And in Max Fricke they have a GP rider returning so that will add a few to the gate, as well as providing some real entertainment given his talent.. Jake Allen too is usually worth watching, so all in all the entertainment on view at the NSS will still be amongst the very best (if not THE best), that you will find in the UK and even wider afield... Best of luck to the Aces this season, win lose or draw... Oh hang on. You cant draw any more can you?

  37. You could always borrow some from Buster. He has a fleet of tractors, trailers and other kit parked out the back but then he might need them. Stox on Saturday night, speedway on Sunday afternoon was a superb turn around for Lewis Kerr testimonial.

  38. Give over mate you were trying to insuate that we would be bitter because we lost the league to Peterborough, hence you said " a Panthers rider". For the record MPT has always been good value around the NSS.

  39. My appologies but I can see the confusion now, these two tractors went a while ago, 1 I thought was scrapped but looks like its running. The remaining and fully running tractor is still at the stadium ready for use, another will be needed though.

  42. I am sorry to hear that. All websites should work on laptops, tablets and supposedly smart phones. I only have a cheap phone but it takes better photos than my wife's phone which cost her more than three times what I spent on mine much to her annoyance. Looks like it is also better on the internet than stuff advertised by a half eaten fruit which makes me even happier with my cheap phone.

  45. Just come back on here and was rolling with laughter. The term wasn’t meant to seriously offend. I used the term as someone with long hair who likes bikes and rock music. There were loads of greebo about in the past and I have never heard the term used for unkempt people. Now I remember why I don’t post on here regularly anymore. Say a word slightly unPC and it is sure to offend some fart.

  46. Plymouth are strong enough to cover for Kennett with R/R or guests. The issue is that they made the announcement and the the replacement back tracked. Should have got the signing sorted before announcing Eddis is stepping down. He just needed to do the first meeting and the a facility would have been granted.....
