Certainly a good early benchmark for the reserves with the Redcar pairing probably the lowest combined averages in the league (but certainly capable) against the new and returning Diamonds pair. Also intrigued to see how BWD copes as a number 1? personally i think he has what it takes but a lot will depend on him this year.3 points

He’s definitely that as well! Despite seemingly having the world at his feet at such a young age, think we’ve gone past the stage where we can expect anything more than a good middle order rider. He hasn’t shown that he’s consistent enough or good enough, to be challenging for the number 1 spot in the team and odds are he probably never will. But every team has a Cam in them, and I’d rather have one that entertains like he does. I still think he’s a good sensible signing for us on his average and I still maintain he’ll put a point minimum on his starting figure. Because of his liking of Foxhall, he’s a far better signing for us than he would have been for anyone else put it that way.2 points

FWIW I'm happy as it is; I like the Morris/Douglas engine room and putting Worrall at five is like a vote of confidence in him, which should help at a new club. I think the change of track will do him good; it's no reflection on Belle Vue but sometimes a long relationship can go stale and it may suit both parties to split.2 points

Edwards is way better than that. Very impressed with him when was guesting for the enemy at the end of last season2 points
-
I can't answer that as i'm not part of the Birmingham management team You could also ask the question why Leicester's Management are desperate to run a KOC Meeting opening night against a weakened team instead of a challenge meeting or Individual like most clubs.2 points

Edwards is a talent.IMO.Expect him to show good improvement this season.2 points

Lemon's had five months to sign 7 riders and is the only team manager out of 25 clubs across the three leagues who has failed to complete a team. It seems he continually gets rewarded for failure.2 points

PuK has already said he cant race over here once his teams on the continent get going due to the polish rules, otherwise I would assume lynn would have kept hold of him( gutted they cant )2 points

Now everyone has completed their sides, at least temporarily, here goes: 1. King's Lynn 2. Sheffield 3. Wolverhampton 4. Peterborough 5. Belle Vue 6. Ipswich2 points

Maybe some fans don't go to P&P now because of social media.Plus with the Kerr meeting on Sunday many fans have seen the riders in real action. Back in the day when P&P was well attended you couldn't get to see anything online. Now people expect it to be online so they don't have attend a P&P. There is a good and a bad side to social media imo.2 points

Not many photos around online but no Iversen or Lawson in the ones I can find? Planning to go to Ipswich next Thursday if the weather behaves, would be nice to see this team start the season with a couple of positive results against the old enemy.2 points

Decent meeting to start the season I think Jack was a deserved winner. Tobias looks a class act. Kyle was the usual Kyle in the mix most races but Adam looked a bit inconsistent. Can’t see it been too much of a problem and expect him to be back to where he was last season. Doyley looked like he was going to go through the card and looked very fast. Hope he’s ok after that nasty smash. Well done to all the lads taking part. Look forward to the rest of the season now2 points

Can't believe disrespect to a guy whose been a top performer in this league for a long long time before he's even turned a wheel in anger. Have your opinions but reverting to name-calling I find totally pathetic2 points

It's a shame Newcastle couldn't see fit to host Robbo's meeting with him being a Diamonds legend. He only had 1 stunted season at Redcar (and a short spell at Middlesbrough) but he has been a great servant to the sport and deserves his farewell meeting regardless.1 point

Hard to read too much into that really. No idea what BWD was doing wiping out Roynon after heat 1. Very poor. Clegg rode well for the Diamonds and was the main threat alongside Wright. Complin showed enough that he will do OK I think. Kerr was never going to be beaten if not for bike issues, and all three heat leaders looked good. Roynon did well, and impressed with the reserves - Edwards deserved more for his efforts. Cant really read too much into this I don't think - but should be a good battle for the Bears number 1 spot this year.1 point
-
I think BWD, Complin and Congreve are all going to take several meetings to get up to whatever speed they are capable of, and Starke was a big miss. Plus Redcar look one of the better teams so it's not and shouldn't be complete doom and gloom for Newcastle.1 point

Absolutely right he does. And I think he would have done again eventually last year if he’d have been kept on, although nobody can really argue with Louis’ decision to drop him and reshuffle the team. He loves the home comforts of Foxhall and when he’s on song, there are few as entertaining.1 point
-
Very early days obviously... But ominous... Destroyed a decent field...1 point

95% of fans only ever see home meetings and their view is skewed accordingly Winning home meetings and having riders that can entertain at home are two of the top factors in attracting a decent attendance Cam generally ticks those boxes even when struggling a little elsewhere1 point
-
I think he’s a favourite because of the way he attacks the track at Foxhall (bar last year). He’s never been particularly good away, but at home he’s often been a match winner and entertains with his outside blasts. Covatti was also popular on the terraces, for the same reasons.1 point

he gambled on being able to sign Bewley - if he had missed out on him what would you be saying then?1 point

I think that this is right and possibly, over the past few seasons, there has been maybe too much security of place with us. If there is a more appropriate rider lined up for the league matches, as has been suggested, then it's better that pressure is on both Allen and Etheridge for the remaining place. Rather than Jake Allen knowing that he only has four weeks and then he will be replaced come what may. Maybe we are becoming more like Poole!1 point

You could always borrow some from Buster. He has a fleet of tractors, trailers and other kit parked out the back but then he might need them. Stox on Saturday night, speedway on Sunday afternoon was a superb turn around for Lewis Kerr testimonial.1 point

Supply and Demand.... Amazing how much your value an increase when you are the only alternative...1 point

Give over mate you were trying to insuate that we would be bitter because we lost the league to Peterborough, hence you said " a Panthers rider". For the record MPT has always been good value around the NSS.1 point

I remember not too long ago that P+P used to get decent crowds in attendance, bars were open and plenty of food wagons were there expecting a good days business.. At the old track the car park was often very well used by Aces fans.. Shows by how much, and how quickly, interest in league racing has been lost in the last 15 to 20 years in this country.. Still plenty of fans follow the sport tough, so that is a positive to try and harness, which is proven by the FIM events held over here, the SON last year, and this years British GP being two examples, and meetings like the Peter Craven Memorial on Monday show there is still a decent fanbase out there if they could be enticed back...1 point

I can't remember if it was someone in the chat section of Piratecasts live show or if they said it themselves, but it was thought that more team news for that meeting might be announced at the weekend.1 point

I am sorry to hear that. All websites should work on laptops, tablets and supposedly smart phones. I only have a cheap phone but it takes better photos than my wife's phone which cost her more than three times what I spent on mine much to her annoyance. Looks like it is also better on the internet than stuff advertised by a half eaten fruit which makes me even happier with my cheap phone.1 point

Maybe Eddie wasn’t keen on landing himself with a 28 day ban for withholding his services, in the hope he would be signed up by a weekend track?1 point

Thanks for letting me know, I can now adjust my listing accordingly So glad you do what you do keeping us all informed.1 point

I hope that following Grigory Laguta`s article in sportowefakty he has ended his speedway career outside Russia & that NO club touches him.1 point

I meant in terms of nationality. That’s interesting to know thank you. And his ability is irrelevant as anyone can ride NL, there is no minimum standard. Yes I meant how is he eligible for a British passport. Oxford need a reasonable team to get thru fans to watch it and it’s a new venture so they were of course starting from scratch. If he’s riding for the Chargers then there’s a clear avenue for him to ride for the Cheetah’s Championship side too which benefits then and obviously could form part of a good future relationship with Wolves if Oxford need any riders in the future.1 point

Exactly! Why does this type of thread always sidetrack comparing the value to what is available for foreign speedway. Many who would subscribe to the new BSN service wouldn't care less about Foreign speedway. There is generally no affliation for people to follow a team abroad and most of the time it's foreign commentary. Not for me either.1 point
