  1. Agreed, the Plymouth riders attacked the track a lot more, none more so than Dan Gilkes who had a tremendous meeting up until the unfortunate accident, we were having good banter with a Plymouth supporter in front of us who turned out to be Dan Gilkes grandad who was with 2 lasses, obviously they were visibly upset rushing to the pits so not only best wishes to Dan Gilkes for a speedy recovery but to his family as well.

  2. Well It’s hard and I am proud of Kelvin for stepping up to the plate. The show must go on and all that. It’s going to take a bit of time to get going. Well done to Chris Louis stepping into Kelvins shoes and Kelvin for stepping into Scoops. Not easy and I commend their efforts. I hope there’s no moaning about commentary. If there is they deserve any crap aimed at them.

  3. Russian nor Belarus tennis players will not be at Wimbledon tennis this year. I have said it on here before, there is a strong link between Polish and Ukraine citizens, a lot stronger then you may think. And the hatred for Russia now is quite strong. Likely to continue until the population in Russia open their eyes and realise they have a one man government.

  4. As proved in other sports Russians are still competing, its virtue signalling and history will not be kind to speedway, whoever the decision is is irrelevant, it’s wrong and quite frankly I’m disgusted in the other riders to not speaking out about it

  5. You just stick to looking at the updates and don’t bother giving an opinion on a meeting you didn’t attend, was plenty of passing, but it rained for 5 hours straight, so of course it’s not going to be normal track conditions, but that doesn’t suit your agenda does it

  6. Yes, all very enjoyable. Zmarzlik will take some beating though, to state the obvious. Can’t wait to go to one live again but meanwhile the tv coverage was indeed excellent. Kelvin and Chris are a good team, especially tonight under the circumstances, hope Chris continues in the role as he provides some interesting insights. And a big thank you to everyone whose first language isn’t English. We take it for granted but I wish I could be so fluent in a foreign tongue.

  7. Kelvin I feel for you. Very hard night. Thoughts are with you. Very brave to do this.

  8. Broken arm, 5 busted ribs and a collapsed lung for young Gilkes!! Get well soon young man.

  9. That's not how two ambulances work. If the paramedic is busy/has to go with the rider racing can't continue. The only solution is an extra paramedic but you're talking a lot of money

  10. I think we should have more than enough to cover for him at home whilst he gets to grips with it but he is more important away as that is where the twin’s generally struggle at the moment.

  12. You really are some kind of special stupid, your hatred of Godfrey won't cloud an inaccurate statement eh. There is medical cover at Scunthorpe but like all tracks they have to wait for a county ambulance, stabilise the patient etc... So Gilkes was put in the Scunthorpe ambulance with medical cover until he could be transferred, whilst waiting for the transfer there is no other medical cover and the racing has to wait.

  13. As I said listen to both sides and make your own judgment, when your informed from one side and the other is banned, that should raise your curiosity at least, I’m not defending Russia or Putin or Ukraine but I will say all is not what we are being told to think (again)

  14. Yes he was mentioned and spoken about by Kelvin during the buildup, and also a period of Silence and applause after the national anthem.

  15. Well that was impressive all round…Discovery certainly took the sport forward with that production..and Kelvin Tatum and Chris Louis were excellent Everything looked very professional and a great advert for speedway its up to the other riders to compete with Zmarzlik and I for one never tire of watching him ride and he is probably the most exciting rider I have watched since my time of starting watching in the mid 70s

  17. Zmarzlik will win every round of the GP series this season imo. I thought the new presentation of the series was top notch.

  18. I personally think both Tatum and Louis are excellent, but as sidekick summarisers. Neither is right for the lead commentary role and they’re gonna have to find someone to fill that particular role I think. Tatum is trying, but struggling to generate his usual enthusiasm and that’s totally understandable. Seems a bit flat today bless him.

  19. It’s is disgusting that laguta and sayfutinov are not on the series, history will not be kind to speedway over this

  24. Anyway back to last night's slaughter in the sunshine . It was as impressive performance as I've seen from the Tigers at Armadale , solid from 1 to 7 . The highlight being Danyon's win over Masters . Praise to the track too , it was as good and fair as I've seen it there 51-39 is normally quite a comprehensive away win , and it was , though it does actually flatter the Monarchs as they got the majority of their race wins once the meeting was over as a contest . None more so than Kye Thomsen's heat 14 win . He was well off the pace all night before popping out to win that race easily . Edinburgh's choice of waiting till heat 11 before putting a t/s in against Cook was quite baffling . But all in all it was a brilliant night for us on the third bend

  25. Firstly, its not nice to see a mate get hurt like that, speedy recovery Dan mate - that was an awful crash. Fair play to the Gladiators, better team on the night won.. Great choice of guests by Plymouth management. Also, a quick thankyou to Ben Barker who came into Scorpions TV Media Center and had our first ever live on the spot interview

  26. Our commentators do a brilliant job considering the budget we work to. They don't have abundance of data or someone keeping them informed. Just the track in front of them and a TV with the stream before it's transmitted.

  28. Rotten luck Plymouth losing Gilkes with a suspected broken arm. He has been excellent this season and I for one wish him a speedy recovery. Plymouth will certainly miss him on Tuesday and he will be irreplaceable. Get well soon.

  29. He's well beyond stupid.... Every post he makes is designed to damage the credability of Scunthorpe Speedway.

  31. Do you mean “if so and so does this, and thingymajig does that” one nullifies the other, so it doesn’t matter. Thing is today, there are so many bad things happening in the world, and it gets publicised so much, people tend to “put it to one side” it’s “become normal”. “It doesn’t matter”. All lives matter. There are 10’s of thousands killed in Ukraine, young men, older men, women, children…. nothing to do with Putins “special operation”. There are mothers in Russia, their young sons will probably never be returned even in a body bag because bodies of soldiers are just buried…..consumables to satisfy the desire of a nutter…….. it’s like Hitler all over again. And just like the 2nd world war…… the “world” knows atrocities are happening and doing nothing…until it’s all over then court cases will be held, maybe in 10 or 20 years perpetrator’s that are still alive will face a trial. It’s all too late

  33. But Kelvin seemed to chirp up a bit as the program went on, but agree, it must have been difficult. I notice there is no mention of missing no1 and no3 in the world.

  34. So just subscribed to the Eurosport app and qualifying is on. So for those of us in a European country where a specific tv deal hasn’t been mentioned we can watch on the Eurosport app.

  35. Atkins had denied rumours that he's quitting. Gilkes will be a big miss though. Sure anyone can guest for him, but finding guests willing to travel to Devon who can match his scorepower might not be easy.

  38. We dont have even that one after Roni Niemelä quit the sport un-expectedly in winter time. Nothing unfair about it. Nordic qualifier is a relic of ancient times in various disciplines of track racing. Designed to cut cost for the Nordic FMNs through a deal where no prize money is paid. What it actually has done in my time, is produce a not so level playing field of opposition for the Finnish riders, especially in U21 speedway. Not that we’ve had title contenders for years, but the Nordic quali was the toughest of the all by a country mile for years.

  43. No way Jose... His 28 days are up.... You need to use Kildemand... Who is injured... So therefore use loads of guests to replace him, (we have got to keep the sport credible)... Rules are Rules... (Or are they Regulations?)....

  44. As I understand it a 2-year deal was agreed for 2022 and 23. Further on the Council and Stadia UK need to decide/announce what the long term plans are for the whole stadium site as well as for the whole of Poole town centre area.
