I have never read such crap come out of a keyboard warrior as I have reading all these comments. You are all just total nasty people. Nothing Newcastle speedway does is good enough for anyone on this forum. They could be the best but they would still not be good enough for you all. If your not slagging the track it’s the management or it’s the riders or it’s the day they ride and even the volunteer staff have been called. Just pure nastiness. It’s not even freedom of speech or entitled to your opinion chat it’s just pure slagging then off for the fun of it Well I’ve had my rant and I’m sure I’ll get nasty comments back but as you all say I’m entitled to my opinion and that’s mine12 points

I think you will find Ellis is blameless. Offered a 28 day contract which he honoured plus some. His schedule doesn’t allow for championship once all his other leagues start. he got you out of a muddle in my opinion. It was the promotion who were economical with the truth that caused the fuss.5 points

Totally agree about the BSN stream first time I’ve used last night paid £42 for 5 meetings is great value- streaming meetings is definitely the way forward for clubs a seasons pass for our fav clubs would be a great idea - with the cost of admission and travel costs and everything else going up in price watching from home is a great option . That said can’t beat attending any sport live .4 points

Think you’re missing the point of team sports, the danger aspect is irrelevant , speedway is and has always been a team sport on bikes not a motorcycle sport, hence bikers don’t really go to watch, speedway should be like football or rugby, it is territorial, poland is a classic example of this, the fans support their team and don’t support any other speedway except the GPs in great numbers, they are passionate about their own town/club like football over here3 points

Its awful isn't it, what has this world become?,,, best of luck to Kyle, am sure it will do his confidence the world of good,,, securing a place in a team that no one else wants to ride for?3 points

Kyle also, Ishould remind folk, scored an impressive 7+2on his last visit, so we know he can do it at ourplace. This made me laugh!!! Pretty much every away rider has scored well!! Mainly because the home riders are awful3 points

Thanks. Glad you found the site of interest, Iain. Schumi and I try and keep it ticking over as best we can.3 points

Don't believe everything you read on the internet, after all speedway fans and even more so, promoters and managers are such a reliable source of information3 points

Killing team sport using my home town wolves as an example Sam masters rides for Edinburgh .Nick morris rides for Leicester. Ryan Douglas rides for Scunthorpe Steve Worral rides for Poole. Drew kemp rides for Poole .leon flint rides for Berwick, only Luke Becker rides only for wolves, right there is why team speedway has died in Britain, how is anyone new to the sport supposed to follow their club when it’s just a glorified swingers club, speedway has many other issues as why it is dying but as far as team speedway goes this has killed the team concept3 points

Do people criticising Gary's speech know he has facial paralysis which affects his speech?3 points

Because the track was well prepared prior to the meeting so it didn’t need it, meaning the meeting was done in 1hr and 20 minutes including a few re runs !2 points

If it was down to me I'd make every rider do a victory lap after winning a race, it beats watching the tractor go around the track. It also amazes me how many people in the crowd don't applaud a rider when they do come round on a victory lap... they're often too busy filling their programmes in!2 points

Seeing the form of cook tonight makes me so glad our KO Cup meeting had a chance to be rearranged!2 points

I've got to hand it to you Discofever. You've provided more entertainment in one post than Rob Grant's Diamonds have all season.2 points

Bit slick due to the weather that was around today. But more passing in the 2 running of heat 6 than was all night last night in the pairs!!2 points

Speedway is an added extra to Foxhalls owners. There's plenty of moaning from the car brigade that the shale ruins the outside track. Best thing would be for Guy Nicholls to build a new track on some land locally and stop using Foxhall.... But build it like Redcar or Somerset.... not Leicester.2 points

Stumbled across this website: https://wwosbackup.proboards.com/ The detail is absolutely mind boggling! Must be a labour of love for somebody2 points

I see the standard statement we are positive about riding next season has been dug out again. Zzzzz.. How about some answers to why the work has stopped etc what the local mp etc is doing etc etc. Can't wait to November after we get done over again.Dont tell me we are positive about riding in 2024 and all the riders are as keen as mustard to ride for us. .2 points

I know,,, I've watched years and years of that rubbish,,, and I still don't have a clue why I do2 points

The last showing on Eurosport - British Speedway's shop window - had an interview at the end of the meeting with Ipswich captain Danny King - then, in the championship round-up, had an interview with Poole captain Danny King! Explain that to a casual sport fan, whilst retaining some credibility? It's been necessary due to lack of riders but the extent of the doubling up has to end2 points

My apologies to Mr brown. Knew something we didn't. Is this same illness Jason garrity used to get when due to ride north of the border?2 points

I should imagine the Poles noted that a couple of weeks ago NKI rode Monday England Tuesday Sweden Wednesday Denmark Thursday England and thought hello that`s Poland and 3 other NOT 2 - we are not having that !! and took action.2 points

What’s the point in the rising star being forced to be used? Fair enough have them on stand by in case of injuries but it’s a stupid decision to have them be forced to be used. A pairs meeting… where you have to use 3 riders2 points

Well, maybe they're still looking for 'press officer',,, or is it a case of everyone needing to be spoon fed, is it too hard to work things out yourself? It'll all come out in the wash, some folk are so demanding these days.2 points

Once upon a time nobody got seeded. Everyone from the World Champion down started the next year from scratch. Didn’t stop Mauger winning 6, Fundin winning 5 or Briggs winning 4.2 points

Seems a tiny bit insensitive to play The Chain after Josh MacDonald's fall in heat 14!1 point
-
Tbf I thought that about Richie Worrall at Poole last Weds!1 point
-
That’s frustrating. 10-2 down to pull it back only to have Ben Cook shed a chain in heat 14 to give a 3-2 to Scunthorpe and Douglas hold off a titanic fight with King in heat 15 to get them the victory they didn’t deserve. Good news is Drew Kemp came back to form. King still got serious issues with his bikes. But a much better performance from the team after last weeks capitulation.1 point

He's flying at Glasgow tonight, worth a go for Peterborough to maybe replace Scotty.1 point

Maybe Granty realised that he wasn't as big as his ego made him out to be after the embarrassing performance from him last Sunday... He didn't even know how to slide around the tight bends... Was miles behind and couldn't stay upright, constantly going towards the fence and shutting off... Put it this way... Any of the new fans who came from the massive effort that was the county show grass track meeting won't be returning... I'm pretty confident of that, so that was a pretty big waste of time also1 point

Maybe you are right, that 2019 season wasn't good for him but I've seen enough good heats from him to at least say he is comfortably better than KK and Lindback. He was one point away from qualifiying to the GP series again this year which would have been interesting to see. I also realise he hasn't done so well in the international competitions but we are talking about a guy who has the 2nd best average in the ekstraliga this year, can't be to bad surely1 point

Like I said, who's worried about the programmes. The times I have had inserts with the wrong programmes over the years.Only this year I had a Lynn v Wolves match programme with an insert as it wasn't even Wolves there. That is a lame excuse I think as to why they can't change the averages quicker. Maybe they can change the race page to something like a GP race page where they leave riders 1-7 blank and we fill them in.1 point

Yes but I didn't want to public name (or shame) our rivals track. The Olympic Park toilets did make a difference though1 point

The basic problem with the sport is riders riding all over the place. It robs youngsters of a spot all over. It is not only the UK that are having problems, but it was noticed and has been going on for a decade or more. I pointed out the dramatic drop in riders in Denmark. Just as i seem to recall Anders Michanek in Backtrack noted the drop in number from his time in Sweden. Poland, although maybe the only country trying to do something, are also seeing this happen now I remember back nearly two decades ago now and here in Germany we had qualifying rounds for the German championship and also i seem to remember the U21 championship, divded into North and South. Now it seems they are lucky to get a full field without using a foreigner or two on german licences...1 point

Or maybe just shouldn't have banned the Russian riders from league competitions. Have any of the major club leagues in other sports taken a similar approach?1 point

I wasn’t a huge fan of it when they brought it in for 2020 as covid guests - but it was soon abused and not used as intended. They did recognise that and changed it for last season although was never actually needed from memory. I hate the guest rule full stop. It’s my biggest pet hate of British Speedway. I would much rather see a weakened side retain their identity than borrowing riders and then winning matches. Injuries are part of speedway unfortunately and Polish teams have large squads including their U24 teams to pick riders from.1 point

Showing his true colours.....interested to see Lee Kilby speculating about the scrap metal AKA prefab sat in the car park being the 'new' buildings.....I wonder if anyone with Swindon Speedway has actually asked the question?! perhaps they are scared of what the actual answer is? Quite bewildering really1 point

Looking thru' last week's Speedway Star I saw that the list of top averages for Premiership and Championship. Top of Premiership: Steve Masters (Wolves) Top of Champoonship: Steve Masters (Edinburgh) Are they related???? Should the Leagues be renamed; Monday & Thursday League and the Rest Of the Week League??? Finally should Chris Harris represent every team at the League Riders Final??? Team sport has certainly been wrecked in Britain.1 point
