  1. I’ve been both a rider and a mechanic and it’s time to ban the mechanics from the track after an unsatisfactory start, it’s annoying and unnecessary , straight back to the start

  2. If people stop testing themselves and just think they have a cold,, it will disappear overnight.

  3. Probably.... but it's okay as NKI stands for:- Now Kyle In

  4. Well imo it is a bit disrespectful to Birmingham to say the meeting should be cancelled! And to the guests that are riding for them too actually. Poor from Ray especially when one of them is a young British rider who probably jumps at the chance at all these guest bookings he has been getting. Well deserved may I add too.

  5. Not buying that. Lynn fans were the ones moaning last year when we were becoming champions. We got the team we all wanted barring one I wouldn't have re-signed. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. What we do know is Ostergaard, Andersen, Nicholls are finished at the top level. Harris has had a very good season as has Basso. MPT has been injured most of the season and one I'd have back but certainly not at number one. Palin, Jenkins waste of time this year.

  6. Sadly it’s time for Kerr to be replaced.

  7. To be fair... You cannot compare Poland's version of Speedway to the UK example.. It's like comparing Premier League football to the Evostick Northern Premier League football.. In Poland it means so much, with promotion, relegation, big crowds, professional infrastructure, and huge financial rewards, sponsorship, and media coverage... None of those things apply over here, therefore it is what it is.. Which is pretty much a vehicle for lads to earn as much as they can to justify a large outlay on kit.. As the race with Pickering showed, the spectacle is still worth watching, even if the operating model clearly, and obviously, doesnt do it any favours... Beats Emmerdale, Corrie and Eastenders on a Monday...

  8. Packed crowd at Oxford a month ago, will be packed again in couple of weeks for the Pairs. Far from dead yet. Probably needs one big league and/or definitely more teams in Premier, 6 isn't enough.

  9. 4 hours till start time and I usually start clock watching on a Monday but not today. Just can’t get excited for it. you know what. All these years I’ve been after some 60-30 wins. (We never get) and now we have them I want a good old 46-44 I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m just an old grumpy man that’s never happy

  10. Max Clegg's gate and 1st and 2nd bend in heat 11 was top drawer. His blast around the outside was straight out of the Bomber play book. It truly stunned the crowd and we all watched in real surprise as he put 4 faultless laps together in the 6th fastest time of the night. Kyle wasn't covering his back or holding up Bomber. In fact the three were quite spread out by the end of the race. I've had my own doubts about this signing. But credit, where credit is due.

  11. Another bad track at MIldenhall today. Another crashfest. Another 2 riders withdrawing from the meeting injured. Don't the SCB employ track inspectors? Why haven't they been to Mildenhall? They certainly need help. It's a great stadium and potentially a great track, but how can the SCB stand by and see all these crashes and several riders injured every meeting, without doing something about it?

  12. To be fair to Howarth, paid 11 from 5 rides is a good return.

  13. From recent reports coming out of Derwent park looks like town are in deep do do big wage cuts and win bonus cuts, but that's safe as only won once,, looking to off load players and appealing for sponsors to help them out of trouble !!! I won't put a smiley face on, but Speedway may not have to compete against the rugby

  18. The bike you start the race with is the bike you should start the re run with when it is no more than an unsatisfactory start.. No pit gate open. Straight back round..

  19. The start sums up just how bad the sport is in this country. Riders need to get a grip.

  20. as its a forum everybody is entitled to there own opinion if people on here did not feed him he just might go away fat chance of that happening onward and upwards

  21. Exactly. Seems Ray C is trying to be mates with Trackprat with his recent comments. Decent guests for Brum. Should be a good meeting shame we have to be there to watch it. Still think we should win this one as long as the track is ok.

  25. Wow nothing against Howarth I personally like him as a rider but when he's guesting at number 1 in the Premiership that shows you how bad speedway over here actually is.

  26. Probably won't happen in July would be my guess.

  28. I was watching Max very closely on the BSN on Friday night because of all of the "discussion" around his inclusion in the team. What I did notice is that he made the gate in almost every race and was 1st or 2nd in the, what they call holeshot these days, but then soon got passed. If he had managed to maintain his "holeshot" position he would easily have scored double figures, so fair play to the lad. Staying away seemed to do the trick

  29. I got the same email this morning and already subscribe to the BSN. Their monthly subscriptions are rolling but can be cancelled on the website once you've joined. The way I read the email is that people won't be able to sign up for a monthly subscription after this week. Premiership Pairs subscriptions ended after the first round I think so you have to buy them seperately as they are not part of the monthly pass.

  32. I don't think that's correct. The last set of accounts prior to the liquidation process kicking in was the year to 30 November 2018. At that point, the net assets were £25,562 but, as the issued ordinary share capital was £100K, the remaining reserves amounted to £(74,438). This is most likely the profit and loss account reserve but no detail of the split is provided, as they're micro-entity accounts (pretty useless in all honesty). The next thing we know, the company is facing an HMRC liability of £158K, following an investigation of the period prior to Rob Grant taking control. This would have been more than enough to wipe out the £25,562 net assets, even if it consisted wholly of cash / bank (which it probably wasn't, as current assets at 30 November 2018 were only £33,696 and most likely included stock and debtors). The liquidator issued a Statement of Affairs, showing assets with an apparent market value of just £500. This was cancelled out by a creditor of the same amount. The bottom line of this statement showed net liabilities of just over £258K (£158K to HMRC and £100K ordinary share capital, all owned by Rob Grant). By the time it came to the liquidator's final report being published (around 8 months later), only a further £2,684.92 of assets had been realised, all of which was swallowed up by professional fees. Both HMRC and the ordinary shareholders received £Nil, as there was nothing left in the pot. Bottom line is Rob didn't "spend it on something else".

  33. Have to agree, the match at Wolves tonight was just a glorified Championship match with the riders that were competing.Still they will probably stick with next season.

  34. Still doesn't make up for last year's final. Aces bottled it.

  35. Yep, seen it and agree it is a bad as the British version.. While the racing has its moments it is not top draw in terms of a spectacle it is a poor relation. While the meetings can entertain, they offer mediocre competitive racing and those riders competing are not top level but nevertheless do manage to put on a show. Just do.not over sell, the product, it is second rate.

  37. Agree regarding Smith,Bickley has been very poor in the matches I watched but he at least is still young, but will take massive upturn in form for him to get regular Team place in Poland.

  38. Maybe he only read the second one You know, the one advising how to get tickets for Esbjerg.

  39. To redress the balance I have had numerous problems downloading the tickets to the app. I contacted the customer service and they did it for me , so I now have the tickets in my app. Not ideal but anyone struggling I would suggest contacting customer service. Buying tickets and accessing them should not be so difficult. I Use See tickets a lot and they still post some tickets and have print at home options or send you an eticket as a pdf. This ticket system could seriously have an adverse affect on the attendance at Cardiff

  43. It’s embarrassing and shameful that this is what we’ve got, I’m not knocking riders as they obviously try there hardest too earn money but too turn up at Bellevue with a squad that wouldn’t cut it in the championship top half, it’s just mediocre and unfair on the fans…. fingers crossed if what I’ve been told is true our future is fine

  44. In your circumstances the only offering that may be worth a look at is the IOW. Apart from this I agree with your sentiments but alas those in charge do not give a fig about the true speedway supporter as opposed to a club follower. Many like to watch the racing and if it is close and competitive most are happy. Teams are a joke with riders competing in all three leagues. It might be better if meetings were individual events made up of riders assigned to club names and at the end of September the riders with the most points were drawn to represent four clubs in a play off. Those clubs could be drawn out of a hat. Ridiculous it may seem but no more than what we have now.

  45. Yep, I understand but speedway use to be a weekly event and was well supported. The point I was trying to make was how times have changed and it is not driven just by economic conditions but the state the sport is in where rider availability and the doubling up down and sideways makes it a nonsense. Ipswich and many other clubs were the stable of weekly track action and many supporters turned out to watch racing. I can remember supporting a Saturday night club and waiting for the results from Canterbury, Coventry, Berwick etc. but now the sport is a pale shadow of what it once was. Alas it will take a combined effort from many to re-establish itself as a serious form of club entertainment.

  49. My brother is going to Oxford speedway next week and I'm envious and have asked him to get me a programme as a souvenir so at least I have something tangible to remind me of years past at Cowley when I used to stand on the third bend chewing the fat with colleagues and fillling in my programme...all part of the night out in my opinion.
