And so British Speedway trundles on in it's minimal existence.5 points

As much as I admire Bomber, and yes he is having a stellar season in the UK, I feel comparison with Zmarzlik is a tad ambitious.5 points

Facts are- Brennan and Flint are official Meeting Reserves for SGP on Saturday so contractually obligated to be at Friday Practice 3 pm Impossible therefore to be at Oxford Also Brennan is wild card for SGP 2 on Sunday. Very unlucky to miss out on SGP2 Series pick in his last chance year. A good display either Event will be seen and noted in all the right places for his career. Puts the CL Pairs into perspective. Lay off both lads, key part of British Speedway future and deserve this chance at Cardiff. Both done thousands of miles in age groups round Europe for peanuts.4 points

Ok, lets look at probably the daftest fixture ever ridden in British Speedway, and that takes some beating... Pretend Plymouth vs Pretend Birmingham, both teams made up of riders pretending to replace a rider pretending to ride for a pretend club: Pretend Plymouth: 1. Richie Worral: Kings Lynn & Leicester pretending to be Ben Barker: Plymouth & Ipswich (+Wetherspoons) 2. R/R for Alfie Bowtell: Plymouth & Kent 3. Lewis Kerr: Kings Lynn (at the time) & Redcar pretending to be Ed Kennett, who was pretending to be a Speedway rider 4. Danyon Hume: Ippo (at the time?) & Glasgow pretending to be MPT: Plymouth & Peterborough 5. Josh Pickering: Kings Lynn & Edinburgh pretending to be Hans Andersen: Plymouth & Peterborough 6. Ben Morley: Plymouth & Kent 7. Harry McGurk: Plymouth & Belle Vue Pretend Birmingham: 1. Kye Thomson: Edinburgh pretending to be Claus Vissing, who was pretending to be a Birmingham rider 2. Jacob Hook: Edinburgh pretending to be Josh Auty? 3. R/R for Stefan Nielsen: Birmingham... but wasn't there 4. Broc Nicol: Glasgow pretending to be Ashley Morris? 5. Justin Sedgmen: Birmingham & Sheffield 6. Lee Complin: Armadale pretending to be James Shanes: Birmingham & Mildenhall 7. James Pearson: Birmingham! Woo Hoo! an actual Birmingham rider! ... I'm going for a lie down3 points

No but perhaps Plymouth should/could have arranged some level of cover even if it was an unattached 3 pointer3 points

I'd take a stab Blobby was talking about masters as don't think has any concern how cook does in rest of league season3 points

So 3 days before the event no lineups announced. I have a ticket but am now having serious doubts whether to bother. Meant to be top two from each club.2 points

I think if Flint had been riding, Berwick would have been red hot favourites!2 points
-
If Gary May wants to beat Poole may be he should pay for his select Team for the night. Nothing in it for Plymouth, been there twice, best to save man and machine for far more important matches ahead. Nice night out for the Centurions2 points

That's the plan, just got to make sure no injuries tonight .2 points

Surprised no one’s mentioned bin gate. Doyle getting abused by a drunk all night and after heat 15 chucked a bin at him lol2 points

SGP practice is on Friday at 3pm, I'd imagine they both want to get as much time as possible on the track at Cardiff, especially for Brennan who is riding in the main SGP2 meeting on the Sunday. They'll both get much more out of being at Cardiff for 3 days than riding in a Championship pairs meeting...2 points

His test was non negative. Which is a diplomatic way of saying it was positive. If it was inconclusive he would have been asked to take another test. Nobody can come on here & defend Ben , he broke the rules (knowingly or unknowingly) so now must serve his punishment.2 points
-
No different in other speedway countries even Poland - some teams get regularly thumped!2 points
-
He did claim at Glasgow last Sunday that he was hoping to ride in the pairs depending on how much movement he had in it. Personally I’d rather be left it till the leagues are back in action.2 points
-
What a ridiculous situation. Here we have probably the most entertaining rider left in British Speedway, which everyone knows is" scraping along the bottom",who's future is being questioned because he scores too many points.2 points
-
Think if Flint had been riding Berwick would have been dark horses2 points

Pretty sure his chain coming off was his on doing to as he leaned on Fricke,,, as that is when it seemed to come off,,,,, As for Cols comment about not being breath taking,,,,, I'm pretty sure any Ipswich fan would give an arm and leg to Watch speedway like that every week,,,, I thought it was pretty awesome with that speed and noise and watching riders swapping lines for fun.Credit to Tungate,,, he tried his best and raced the track as its meant to be raced,,,,2 points

Too many guests? Surely, one rider from another side is too many. But when it guests to three or four... That's why speedway now is ruined, as too many riders are now trumped up guests and have more than one side. The doubling up/down rule is surely just a wheeze to operate guests for a lack of advanced planning. Watching speedway with guests is like those Top of the Pops albums in the 70s, sold as the proper thing but in which the songs weren't even covered by the proper artists.2 points

I came to a couple at Newcastle and i found the place quite friendly so I feel for all the fans also I have never seen so many food vans in one place it was like a food convention , hope you all get the chance to shout for your team again1 point

You never got this in the old days. You certainly never got White City operating r/r all season for a rider they never had in the first place. You certainly never got Exeter being allowed a gueat facility for Ivan Mauger who only agreed to ride home meetings.1 point
-
Yeah. Fricke is pretty special and calculated with his passing. He just follows them while having a nibble on inside. Then on outside before he always makes his move lap 3. He watches what they do, always thinking how he will pass them in a few laps time1 point
-
Absolutely right that Flint and Brennan should be at Cardiff practicing and getting as much out of the event as they can.1 point

The thing with the Aces,,, they can batter teams at home and still have good racing as long as the opponents make the gate,, which ipswich did many times. Maybe its better for away teams to do what Fricke does,,,, stalks for a few laps then makes a pass1 point

Agreed the sport looks a total joke watching Allit prance around in his peterborough shirt one week and his lynn shirt the next. Where is the competition element?1 point
-
Extremely simple... It really doesn't matter who wins or loses, as pretty much every team will beg steal or borrow from each other.. Therefore.. Just enjoy the racing.. Peterborough in particular is one of the better tracks which must be a bonus.. The sport is slowly dying with the current operating model in use but there seems to be no alternative, (and has already died in at least one part of the UK each season for a fair few of the recent past years now)... So just be grateful there is Speedway to watch in the UK.. I went to the PCMM this year and a couple of Aces meetings and they were all value for money... Who won? If think Jason Doyle, (although that may have been last year?), and the Aces won both the matches I went to but I dont remember who they rode against to be honest.. Three very good value for money nights out though with some fantastic racing featuring Woffy, Bewley, Lambert, Doyle, Fricke, Kurtz, Zagar et al.... Off to Cardiff for the two GP's this weekend to watch some "proper speedway" but the racing probably wont be as good as the NSS and Peterborough (as well as others), can provide... With the threat of development for housing, and the cost of living challenges ahead, tracks need as many "die hards" to stick with them I would think... If your team wins then great, if not, then there is always next week..1 point

All very murky. The same as a rider with an illegal silencer being allowed to use it for the Northern fixtures, its either legal or its not, end of.1 point

TfW is advising people to only travel by rail if their journey is essential on the South Wales Main Line between Carmarthen and Newport and between Cardiff and Lydney. When the roads are congested this makes cycling an even more attractive option as travel by bicycle would be quicker than a car during rush hours or during big events. ➡️➡️➡️ Shopping Parking Shoppers are advised to make use of the dedicated Shopping Park & Ride sites at Pentwyn or County Hall. A tough 3 points to add to our tally but we need more consistency if we going to win anything this season We need to get off to a stronger start and dominate meetings1 point

I think the argument is about Kerr guesting on the Tuesday, missing a KL match on the Thursday, then riding for Redcar on the Friday!1 point

Maybe by providing a product that people consider is worth paying money to go and see? Not heard anyone complaining about not getting value for money at these games. Having competitors "of your own" to cheer on helps too. Team England didn't resort to American or German "guests" if one of their own was missing.1 point

As far as I know, a temporary injury replacement has to be a 1-for-1 change. You bring in a temporary replacement with a lower average than the injured rider, and when the injured rider is back fit, he can retake his place. But that's not what Ipswich have done. They've made a redeclaration of the team, combining the averages of two outgoing riders (plus a bit that they were under the points limit) and redeclared with 2 new riders up to the points limit. It's not a 1-for-1 temporary injury replacement,. In fact Tungate's average is quite a bit higher than Riss. As for the "IRR" on the BV website, that's just a cock-up. "IRR only comes into play if a rider is injured during a meeting and withdraws. Whoever wrote that on the website hasn't a clue what they're writing.1 point
-
pretty much the same with most clubs why would they not bring play off forward and run them in decent weather rather than a wet september/october1 point
-
The best deal was to wait for the July GSAs and do a one-for-one replacement. A redeclaration would have decimated the team. On this basis, a rider with an average up to 4.53 was needed. If people don't like Max, perhaps they could suggest alternatives within that average constraint?1 point
