It seems to me that trying to place any firm parameters on rain-offs is futile. Local knowledge is the vital thing - stadium access, track conditions, machinery available (and if it can actually get on the track) all point to what might be possible. Add in weather forecasts and the financial considerations I outlined above. In the end the buck stops with the Promoter, who has to make a decision* - right or wrong. I’ve postponed meetings that could in the end have been raced, and not postponed ones that led ultimately to either a very late call off or an abandonment. The one thing I hope we all agree on is that in the current climate no Promoter can afford to incur all the fixed costs of a meeting without a high level of assurance the meeting can be staged. * Prior to the arrival of the referee who then assumes the role of decision maker.5 points

Yes but you know the bspl will screw it up somehow, one female rider will be unavailable and they will get bomber in drag to guest in place of her4 points

No it doesn't. It just needs common sense, effort and will to get the meeting on when possible without excuses that don't stack up. When you're not doing the organising and paying the bills though then logic and solutions usually come easy. I wish they'd called this off at 10am in the morning. I also gave £50 to the collection but I thought that it was collection to take the mic off the bloke making all of that noise pollution up to about 7.10, as well as locking the DJ in the bog for the evening!3 points

Switched it on at heat 8 - more entertaining speedway then quite a few meetings I've watched this season.2 points

Yet again the inside was the place to be if you made the gate with very little chance of anyone making an outside pass. I am sure Kings Lynn were delighted, Not sure Peterborough fans would be of the same opinion. Fast race times generally mean a grippy white line, a trapping contest and a follow the leader from start to finish.2 points

As all three Ekstraliga matches will be at the same time, as Racers and Royals said, Kergel's ucoz link will be the place to find them all. The VK links we will have to wait and see, but they obviously will likely only focus on one of the 3 meetings. Once they come live, I'll add them.2 points

When I arrived at the track around 5pm, the track staff were just getting access to it as it had been too wet to do anything with, the surface was bladed off and they all restarted laying a fresh surface with additional new material, once relaid it looked quite good but very grippy, once the riders and management s looked at it, it was all bladed off again, difficult to imagine who requested that. But that left it slick with pretty much nothing left and a trappers paradise, times were good but the racing was complete shyte and didn’t suit anyone on the home side other than Basso who was riding with a shoulder injury. It certainly didn’t suit Bomber and with Andersen and Nicholls on their usual steeds it was very predictable which way this match would go. For the record I still don’t think Lynn will make the Play offs2 points

Imitation is the greatest form of flattery? .......poor form once again from the mafia, at least make reference to the work started by IOW rather than trying to pass off as thier own idea. Embarrassing once again by those in charge.2 points

There lies the problem as i think its better if they ride the bikes myself,2 points

My immediate thought was "isn't Barry Bishop doing this already and with far more passion and sincerity than the BSPL could ever muster"2 points

Criminal to not use Roynon in heat 14! He even arguably should’ve been out in heat 15! Strange to give him the harder heat 13 though when Rowe rode in heats 10 & 14.1 point

Not entirely sure what happened there. Bears (Kerr and Jenkins aside) were shocking for first half of meeting. Lawson was an inspired guest and Roynon was absolutely superb - best I have seen him in years. Fair play to the Bears though, showed up in last three heats especially. Super comeback. Not sure it will be enough but would have snapped your hands off for the chance after heat 121 point

Hugely enjoyable meeting with close, skilful and hard racing from all involved. Great attitude from these young lads, lots of enthusiasm and emotion but highly professional and no messing about at the tapes - they just sat still till the tapes went up then raced as hard as they could. Great to see Ace Pijper involved having watched him in Armadale second-halves from a very young age. Congratulations to the winner, Mikkel Andersen, and lovely to see what it meant to his dad, Brian.1 point

Wouldn't be surprised if the British GP is switched to Manchester if advance ticket sales are poor for Cardiff. At 22000 this year someone must be losing a lot of money, can't see that being repeated next year.1 point

Correct Lisa, we Pirates have finished in 3rd place, no one can catch us. And no one will catch us in the play offs either!1 point

In which case wouldn't a whole host of other sponsors appear as creditors? Can't imagine he'd be the biggest sponsor? This would relate to a payment due to Nick Brown MP, for services provided, which is outstanding? Interesting. I recall Nick Brown chaired an All Party Speedway Commons Committee way back. Wonder if it relates in some way to that? Or perhaps Grant was seeking political support in securing an alternative site. Anyone fancy doing a FOI on this one?1 point

Like many fans I were really looking to this meeting can NOT accept the poor excuses as they had plenty of time to sort out the track. No wonder the support for speedway had plummeted. The promoters showed no interest in trying to get the meeting on. They don’t deserve fans support.1 point

Katie Gordon has been riding in the NJL at Redcar for the last two seasons is very competent and improving , possibly the only female riding on a regular basis. Rachael Holliwell didn’t compete at the IOW and only appears on track now and again but was of a similar standard a while back. The rest of the field are an unknown quantity as their names rarely appear at anywhere other than the IOW it seems, perhaps at Iwade ? There’s certainly not enough to make a stand alone meeting of them hence the idea of fielding them in amongst the BYC meetings.1 point

Need 5 new riders next year. No jobs given on loyalty. We need to be looking at riders like Ryan Douglas for 2023.1 point

Lawsons right The throttle works both ways. He went in dangerously hard and too fast. He knows that. Why would he say anything different to you. He may not be known as a dirty rider, he is very well known as someone who can be belligerent when he falls out with people. Ask the North West speedway community. There's history with him and MPT, Ostergaard, and others. It's had a deep impact on MPT and Plymouth for sure.1 point

I agree. I think they have done well for their first year & I have enjoyed all the meeting I have watched their coverage of. Some of the riders that have had on as guest commentators have been really good too.1 point

I remember when this used to be an even bigger meeting at Coventry on a Saturday night and it would attract 7-8000 fans from around all the tracks! Also the winning rider used to get a new bike/engine... last night they got a lump of plastic1 point
