  1. So Edinburgh make a massive effort to put on the meeting, so that Belle Vue get a fair crack of whip and their play-off fate is not decided by a rain off, and then you moan about the conditions? Conditions looked superb to me watching on the stream, considering the torrential rain earlier in the day. Track was the same for both sides, if anything a wet track tends to remove home track advantage. Well done Armadale for being easily the best team on the night - shame you can't acknowledge that.

  2. Not too long ago he was blaming College and exams. BV is the best gig in the NDL for any young rider, not the kind of bridge you burn if you're professional and sensible.

  6. But you could read it like the semi losers are not in the play offs. that’s the problem with rules. Different people read them differently

  7. No not bike issues. Just beaten up by riders with more desire and dialled in. As for Tom Brennan, as his career progresses he will certainly improve at Poole. I remember a young Chris Harris struggling for several seasons to get a grip of Wimborne Road and always flattering to deceive. Today, when in the right mood and with his bikes working, he can be untouchable.

  8. Klindt was signed before the transfer window, and has made some appearances for Kings Lynn. He is on decent average and is a decent replacement for Fricke. Whether its Fricke, Klindt or Lambert Belle Vue should have enough strength in depth to get their first League title in a number of years. Why are you panicking.

  9. It's complicated! I'm still here because nothing we please me more than to rediscover my enthusiasm I care passionately about speedway. I have lived and breathed it for 50 years. In its rawest form it is still the most exciting, exhilarating sport ever The current set up however has driven me away , it is tepid and soulless at best - fake and corrupt at worst The sport has lost its identity and lacks any coherent direction Perhaps being a little closer than many and having enhanced insight to certain situations over the years has helped sour my view (unfortunately) I would love to be able to just turn up and enjoy the racing

  10. Janowski is a very talented rider and a class act on the bike, but this season has been a bit of nightmare for him for some reason. At least when interviewed a couple of weeks ago he didn’t give the usual bullsh#t about machinery and set-ups he blamed himself.Good Guy IMO.Thought a couple of years ago he could be World Champ but not so sure now.

  14. Well done to Lambert and Bewley for finishing the six, fantastic stuff. It's got to the stage where we are disappointed if they don't reach the semis, they have both developed fantastically well this year. As for next year I don't see any surprises in the picks, the two Russians for Doyle and Michelsen if they are allowed back in but I doubt it myself and I think Nilsson for PP will probably be it.

  15. Maybe Sam Ermolenko could do the working out of the permutations for them.. ...?

  16. Happy to see Lambert finish in the top 6 and automatically qualify for next year's Gp's.After being written off by many especially on here he had a great 2nd half of the series to qualify.

  20. Kylmakorpi was struggling after a knee injury (0 in his return) and Wolves signed Woffinden on his official Green Sheet. He rode 6 league matches before the play-offs. When they tried to do the same again (a year later?) just for the play-offs, they weren’t allowed.

  25. Really I would say that Belle Vue are. Belle Vue having far more formidable at home that any other team this season.

  26. SCB Regulations: 013.6.1 Guest Rider ... f) no rider, whose team is in the play offs may appear as a guest in the play offs, in that league Hope that's good enough for you - you have obviously been relying on hearsay

  27. Oh look. Klindt guesting Monday as he will in final. The same klindt who only only returned once his season finished. But that’s ok yeah????

  28. Some similar moments there to the ones I remember, Sidney. Renember the 1974 double header against Hackney and Belle Vue? My first season and the biggest crowd I ever saw there with Bob Kilby guesting for both sides. Couldn't believe it when it was later announced that Kilby would be at Blunsdon in 1975. I also remember Malc Holloway riding through the flower beds while the track staff scattered in all directions. So funny. The Ashby/Jansson Golden Helmet. I git Tommy's autograph that night. Crump and Lee was another one. For me, the best riding I've ever seen from any rider ever was Michael Lee that night. He was beating Crump by the length of a straight and pulling wheelies at the same time. I remember it clearly. Another great memory for me was Andrew Silver coming in as our number 8 and riding straight between a couple of Wolves riders who were team riding on a 5-1.

  32. If Poland relaxes its restrictions on riders and more of the top riders want to return to the UK who exactly is going to pay for them, the clubs owners or those who pay to attend the meetings who now have the increase in energy costs mortgage payments to think about, even sponsors will need to hold onto there cash with rising business costs .

  33. Only three of this years team should stay, Doyle, Riss and Hume. Then freshen up with four newbies. Try and get over a couple of the talented young foreigners that haven’t got the big gigs in Poland yet. There’s a fair few out there.

  38. 010.3 TEAM DECLARATIONS Teams must be declared prior to the start of the season. Changes must be made at least 3 days before the start time of the meeting at which it is intended to be used. Exactly, initial declaration has Jake Allen listed, with no transfers until 25% of the season is completed. Which part of dubious do people not understand?

  40. Twitter now saying tonight’s meeting at Glasgow postponed due to rain, being restated Sunday 2nd October. ? No other source has confirmed this ? Bet Glasgow wish they had carried on in the original restaging with a good crowd in and the possibility of a small win on the night. ?

  41. There is no risk of 30 points being overhauled. Not going to happen. If the lead was 18 points I would say the same. Not going to happen. The Poole team I riding too well and is solid. It didn’t happen when we were riding mediocre mid season, so why would it happen when we are riding well?

  44. Agreed Tolley seems to be decent bloke. Bomber is Bomber though, his average is pretty high so he can’t hang around to get fixed up.I’m quite sure the Brummies will have sounded him out though, and who knows where he will end up.

  46. They knew about work before yesterday afternoon and didn’t do anything about it though! Pretty shocking for that talented Belle Vue team to fail to make the play-offs!

  47. If Bewley finishes top 6, Fricke's 4th spot in the qualifier gets him in. Pzedpelski out, Nilsson in is the only change I foresee unless the Russians are back. Doyle & Thomsen in the most peril if that occurs Shame Kolodziej didn't qualify through SEC, may have got Janowski kicked out.

  48. Nothing to do with the BSPA ROLE OF THE SCB Formed originally in 1948, under the authority of the RAC (Royal Automobile Club) the SCB was known as the Speedway Control Board, a title that stood until 2003. At that time, the RAC, through it’s subsidiary, the Motor Sports Association (MSA) relinquished their involvement and the Auto-Cycle Union, which was formed in 1903 had the sole responsibility in Great Britain for 2-wheeled motor sport. Subsequently the SCB was re-named as the Speedway Control Bureau and is authorised by the Auto Cycle Union to act as the recognised Governing Body for Speedway racing in Great Britain. Accordingly, each season the SCB produces a Rule Book entitled The Speedway Regulations, that covers all the rules applicable to the sport in Great Britain. It is available in booklet form at a small cost from the SCB Office or as a fre download from the SCB Website www.scbgb.co.uk Financed entirely by fees generated through the issue of Track Licences, Rider Registrations and Officials Licences the SCB seeks to act as the independent body to ensure that the BSPA, Member’s Tracks, Riders and Officials all act within the Rules and Regulations of the SCB and most importantly within the best interest of Speedway motorcycle racing. The SCB is managed on a day to day basis by the SCB Co-ordinator (Neil Vatcher: neil@scbgb.co.uk) and an Administrator (info@scbgb.co.uk). They are augmented in specialist areas by Track Inspectors (Alan Bridgett: alan@scbgb.co.uk & Mick Bates: mick@scbgb.co.uk), Track Curator Advisors (Terry Chrabaszcz : terrytrack@hotmail.co.uk & Andy Meredith : andym.amsa@gmail.com) and Technical Advisors (Ron Jones: jap4b@tiscali.co.uk & Jim McGregor: james.mcgregor10@outlook.com) Further specialist advice concerning Medical and Environmental matters are obtained via the ACU Committees; Environmental Advisor (Peter Gregory: pgregory@ntlworld.com), Medical Panel Secretary (Debbie Walmsley: dw@acu.org.uk) The Bureau consists of 4 nominated Members, two representing the ACU are Tony Steele and Paul Hurry (ACU Members) whilst Rob Godfrey (BSPA Chairman) and Chris van Straaten (BSPA Promoter) represent the British Speedway Promoters Association under the independent Chairmanship of Jim Lawrence (a former speedway Referee).
