So Edinburgh make a massive effort to put on the meeting, so that Belle Vue get a fair crack of whip and their play-off fate is not decided by a rain off, and then you moan about the conditions? Conditions looked superb to me watching on the stream, considering the torrential rain earlier in the day. Track was the same for both sides, if anything a wet track tends to remove home track advantage. Well done Armadale for being easily the best team on the night - shame you can't acknowledge that.5 points

Not too long ago he was blaming College and exams. BV is the best gig in the NDL for any young rider, not the kind of bridge you burn if you're professional and sensible.5 points

You should learn a little respect re the other Scottish lot and while you're at it try and learn to spell the Family name of the Glasgow owners3 points

But you could read it like the semi losers are not in the play offs. that’s the problem with rules. Different people read them differently3 points

No not bike issues. Just beaten up by riders with more desire and dialled in. As for Tom Brennan, as his career progresses he will certainly improve at Poole. I remember a young Chris Harris struggling for several seasons to get a grip of Wimborne Road and always flattering to deceive. Today, when in the right mood and with his bikes working, he can be untouchable.3 points

Klindt was signed before the transfer window, and has made some appearances for Kings Lynn. He is on decent average and is a decent replacement for Fricke. Whether its Fricke, Klindt or Lambert Belle Vue should have enough strength in depth to get their first League title in a number of years. Why are you panicking.3 points

It's complicated! I'm still here because nothing we please me more than to rediscover my enthusiasm I care passionately about speedway. I have lived and breathed it for 50 years. In its rawest form it is still the most exciting, exhilarating sport ever The current set up however has driven me away , it is tepid and soulless at best - fake and corrupt at worst The sport has lost its identity and lacks any coherent direction Perhaps being a little closer than many and having enhanced insight to certain situations over the years has helped sour my view (unfortunately) I would love to be able to just turn up and enjoy the racing3 points

Janowski is a very talented rider and a class act on the bike, but this season has been a bit of nightmare for him for some reason. At least when interviewed a couple of weeks ago he didn’t give the usual bullsh#t about machinery and set-ups he blamed himself.Good Guy IMO.Thought a couple of years ago he could be World Champ but not so sure now.2 points

Well done to Lambert and Bewley for finishing the six, fantastic stuff. It's got to the stage where we are disappointed if they don't reach the semis, they have both developed fantastically well this year. As for next year I don't see any surprises in the picks, the two Russians for Doyle and Michelsen if they are allowed back in but I doubt it myself and I think Nilsson for PP will probably be it.2 points

Happy to see Lambert finish in the top 6 and automatically qualify for next year's Gp's.After being written off by many especially on here he had a great 2nd half of the series to qualify.2 points

Kylmakorpi was struggling after a knee injury (0 in his return) and Wolves signed Woffinden on his official Green Sheet. He rode 6 league matches before the play-offs. When they tried to do the same again (a year later?) just for the play-offs, they weren’t allowed.2 points

SCB Regulations: 013.6.1 Guest Rider ... f) no rider, whose team is in the play offs may appear as a guest in the play offs, in that league Hope that's good enough for you - you have obviously been relying on hearsay2 points

Oh look. Klindt guesting Monday as he will in final. The same klindt who only only returned once his season finished. But that’s ok yeah????2 points

Some similar moments there to the ones I remember, Sidney. Renember the 1974 double header against Hackney and Belle Vue? My first season and the biggest crowd I ever saw there with Bob Kilby guesting for both sides. Couldn't believe it when it was later announced that Kilby would be at Blunsdon in 1975. I also remember Malc Holloway riding through the flower beds while the track staff scattered in all directions. So funny. The Ashby/Jansson Golden Helmet. I git Tommy's autograph that night. Crump and Lee was another one. For me, the best riding I've ever seen from any rider ever was Michael Lee that night. He was beating Crump by the length of a straight and pulling wheelies at the same time. I remember it clearly. Another great memory for me was Andrew Silver coming in as our number 8 and riding straight between a couple of Wolves riders who were team riding on a 5-1.2 points

If Poland relaxes its restrictions on riders and more of the top riders want to return to the UK who exactly is going to pay for them, the clubs owners or those who pay to attend the meetings who now have the increase in energy costs mortgage payments to think about, even sponsors will need to hold onto there cash with rising business costs .2 points

Only three of this years team should stay, Doyle, Riss and Hume. Then freshen up with four newbies. Try and get over a couple of the talented young foreigners that haven’t got the big gigs in Poland yet. There’s a fair few out there.2 points

Apologies if this is in the wrong section. I couldn’t bring myself to post it in the defunct track section just yet. For all supporters to post their favourite memories about Swindon speedway, whether whilst visiting Blunsdon, or riding against Swindon at your particular track. Or for Robins fans to reflect on some fantastic memories.1 point

You can't blame it on that. It really is fairly straightforward, and I knew that getting into the final secured the spot for Janowski.1 point

I remember the excitement created by the signing of Jan Andersson. His first meeting was at Blunsdon, riding at number 4. He flew from the tapes and won his first race in such style. I think we all knew we had a potential superstar on our hands. Exeter Falcons visiting with the imperious Ivan Mauger leading the team. Bob Kilby made a fantastic start against Mauger in heat 11. Mauger subsequently chased him down but forced Kilby into the bend four fence. Not sure I’ve ever seen such a furious crowd. There were several people attempting to get to Mauger at the pit gate. Edgar Stangeland and Norman Hunter riding in the 1975 Robins team , with Geoff Bouchard riding at reserve Hope of a decent team forming? Sumner McKnight riding at number two....great leathers, great style, but plenty of last places Martin Ashby representing the Robins in the British final at Coventry in 75. A run off with Ray Wilson to decide who would qualify for the world final at Wembley in September. Probably the best match race I’ve ever seen. Ashby missed the start and hunted Wilson to 3 laps, before just edging in front going into the final two bends. However, Ashby allowed just enough room for Wilson to squeeze past him and around the outside for a width of a fronti wheel win. Gutted for Martin. Numerous trips on the speedway coach to Hackney, Wimbledon, Sheffield, Halifax, Ipswich, and Kings Lynn during the 70’s. Always received a hammering! Can’t ever remember seeing the Robins win at any of those tracks! Visiting the fantastic Shay track at Halifax in around 75/76. Geoff Bouchard scoring an amazing 16 points. Mike Keen thumping into the iron fence on bend one, resulting in a serious back injury. The coach broke down on the M6 on the way home. Arriving back in Swindon at 7.30 am. The 2007 play off final at Coventry. The coach I was on arrived late due to the traffic around Brandon. A mate rings me to say Sebastian Ullamek has crashed during the warm up......but then wins heat one by a mile! His last contribution of that meeting unfortunately. Arriving at the stadium just in time for heat two....through the main stand. I look across at bends one and two and can honestly say , the biggest away following I’ve seen in speedway. A sea of red and white. BUT, what a let down the evening was, with only Leigh Adams on form. Coventry were really on it and deservedly won.1 point

i think that this is the way to go it will open up more venues and potentially some indoor venues lets hope that this succeeds, and speedway might then have a long-term future, especially if they can sort out some form of artificial surface to race on so that temporary venues could be used1 point

That in a nutshell sums up ALL that is wrong with BSPL and British Speedway. Belle Vue bought him over, presumably made him an asset, invested in him, as dod local sponsors etc. He then sought to further his delelopment elsewhere outside the UK whilst remaining loyal to BV as an asset. IF BV want to bring him back then he should be on his perfectly correct and earned average. That's life, that's sport, that should be speedway. NOT factor it by a mystery number drawn up on the back of a Scunthorpe Rain Off Ticket to appease Bates and Louis or anyone else. The whole point of the asset system is to build talent isn't it? If it gives BV an advantage, so what, may be it will make a few others a bit less lazy and try to make things happen rather than moan when nothing good happens to them. This is what INDEPENDENT GOVERNANCE would bring. Fairness for ALL, and reward for enterprise.1 point

It was an enjoyable meeting but then 4TT's always tend to be. I've no idea why they all but vanished from the UK (we know internationally because Poland were too dominant). Could be something to do with having to pay for 16 (plus 4 reserves) riders instead of 14 and those 16 were made up of, most likely, the 4 highest paid riders from each team. Oh and at least 1 extra heat to pay for. Clearly these additional costs weren't offset against having 3 sets of away supporters. In a world of streaming that might have changed the balance. Those supporters who wouldn't normally travel can now pay to access fixtures involving their team from the comfort of their own homes. The future of streaming has to be involving more than two teams in fixtures to widen the audience appeal. You could even involve teams representing clubs no longer with a home track (but with a defined set of exclusive riders) to further increase the potential audience. And at the same time get rid of doubling up (in a fashion) and guest-a-rama.1 point
