No one got the chance as it wasn’t offered for sale. Just closed down with absolutely no consultation with immediate effect.5 points

I heard the bookies were offering 1/100 for Craig Cook not to turn up tonight.4 points

The bit that I really dont understand is that TR says dogs are stopping... CO says they arent... but they are both named as directors of the new company so the remedy should be simple... "Hey Tel, it's not true that the dogs are stopping, I dunno what people are talking about." "Oh ok Clark in that case there is no reason to stop running Speedway at The Abbey, I'll carry on". "Yeah you do that Tel, cos we love Speedway, you silly billy". " Ok cheers Clark. Just one thing, why have we set up a new company to find somewhere to run Speedway when there is apparently no reason to stop at The Abbey?" "Come on Tel, that's just to keep the fans guessing, you dont think we're going to be honest with them after all this time do you?"4 points

.....bUT his Sheffield team mate on the inside slightly made jack go off line goig for a gap that was really tight before Holder got moved slightly off line, and i dont think Wright would of just fell off and the red light was straight on.For me the ref made the correct decision.4 points

A better idea would be to clear out moaners like old bob. Far more efficient and saves people having read all the moans.4 points

People are getting their wires crossed Kye is guesting for Charles at Poole for Redcar on Wednesday not for Belle Vue at Sheffield Thursday3 points

Pretty disgusted in some of the comments about Jye and his so called FAKE injury, give your heads a wobble. Jye didn’t even know what the day was or where he was on track. So to think fans are saying it was tactical beggers belief. It really does. Regarding the 2 min rule you have to be on the way to tapes before the 2 mins so nobody missed the 2 minutes. 12 points up and missing wright will gift Sheffield the title. With wright we may have had a chance. But got no chance now.3 points

Quite, but it was a good opportunity to post a classic race from a memorable night!3 points

Lambert wasn't even close to missing the 2 minutes in heat 15. As I learned myself yesterday, on this very thread, the rule is as follows: "Riders must, at the expiry of this time allowance, be on track, under power, proceeding without stopping towards the starting gate." So, he still had about 30 seconds left when he came onto the track.3 points

That’s ridiculous. Does she also let them off if they “only just” touch the tapes ?3 points

Fantastic nights racing... Truly World Class Heat 13... And 15 was going to be a cracker too. Polish racing but in the UK... Tough, everything on the line Speedway, with massive trust and respect between the riders... Breathtaking racing at times.. And a perfect set up for Thursday I would suggest... Big crowd, great racing, thrills and spills, and brilliant atmosphere.... When Speedway is done this well it has few peers... Hopefully more of the same on Thursday.. Best wishes to the two injured Aces.. Could they get Dan Bewley for Thursday as a replacement..? Hope Old Bob tuned in....3 points

I think the 'priority racenights' are a load of b/s to be honest. Poland race whenever they choose, Sweden do Tues/Thurs, and even Denmark are now doing Weds/Fris.2 points

1) is there anything wrong with that? 2) I'd rather be champions, than considered the best team (but not champions)2 points

Lets see which teams riders go for the biggest average reductions for next season?!!2 points

They've run EVERY weekend, except against the GP and on Aug 27 when despite best efforts no opposition could be found.2 points

That would imply Aces heat leaders winning 15 out of 18 head to heads against Tigers heat leaders, which seems unlikely to me.2 points

It was because they all play in the Dorset Tiddlywinks league on Mondays and Thursdays!2 points

IYes Holder was still turning but I thought he didn't move off his line and the gap was big enough to get through, I thought Wright tried to close the gap and hit Holder in the process as he was almost past him at the moment of the collision. When Sedgmen got passed by Kurtz there would have been a collision too had Sedgmen not backed off.2 points

They wouldn't have known the correct rule if they had.2 points

Bet of the night on 365 when they had brennan on 8.5 thinking he was IRR in heat 14 unders was 11/102 points

What utter nonsense... No way will Zmarzlik be replacing Wright... It will be Dan Bewley replacing Etheridge... Three letter first names you see... Dan/Jye... All in the rules... All in the rules...2 points

The NSS sets a high bar and that didn't get near it, one line near the fence. I thought Holder was correctly excluded from that heat. Unlucky as it was 50/50. Kerr was always going to drift out but Wright had his wheels in a straight line a long time prior to the collision, Holder hadn't finished turning the bike.2 points

All jokes aside I think it’s great seeing a rider of that quality over here, they deserve to be paid the big money in Poland if that’s how they perform…and don’t kid yourself that you wouldn’t go elsewhere to do the same job and be paid more money2 points

Absolutely. I don't understand why clubs wouldn't want to run every week right through the summer holidays, my own club is one of the worst and its bizarre. Have the Play Offs in August if need be and run the cups in Sept and Oct. Get the league title decided when kids aren't at school and the weather is good.2 points

He wasn't stopped from riding at all he has been competing on the 250cc all summer in Europe and doing mdsl and Pjl on the 500. Only decision made was not to allow him to ride at NDL level until the European stuff was out of the way. He had one none riding appearance at no8 for Bellevue and turned down several other offers of guest or no8 bookings due to being to close to his other commitments. Also please remember he and a couple of others are replacing injured riders not taking someone else's spot.1 point

I think guests scores do not count for calculating averages, I'm sure someone will know.1 point
-
No one been asked that's the point. He just closed it down ..this is the point its not up to him to say make they call..If he don't want to run he should have gone public and let people be given the chance...as has been said a go fund me page etc would have made up any shortfall on running costs for the season.. Terry Russell never wanted any of that and just close the club down .Quite clearly he got a good deal for doing so.1 point
-
They should, but surely before the teams have effectively been knocked out of the competition!1 point
-
If the Tigers gate like they did last night they will run out easy winners.. If you get out gated, you dont pass at Owlerton like you can at the NSS.. The Aces will need 30 from the top 3 I would think..1 point

I think Lambert is too experienced to fall for that one, Lambert could have gone off 15 Metres and still beaten Ellis!1 point
-
Nice bit of gamesmanship by Ellis in heat 15 re-run to try and make Lambert jump tapes... Rob did well to ignore in fairness!1 point

Yes you have a point although on past performances and if both reserves were fully fit you would expect Blodorn to get 5 rides as he did the last time Sheffield were in town. Jye is pretty awful at Sheffield so a guest won't do Belle Vue any harm.1 point
-
Yes that's my concern, although being dizzy/dazed doesn't always lead to concussion. We just need to wait to find out I suppose.1 point

I expected Lambert to be left at the start as He came straight round to the tapes with no digging/gardening or looking for the best rut.1 point

Referee helped Lemon a lot. Wright should have been excluded in heat 5 (it makes that 5-1 into 3-3 or worse) and obviously Lambo in Heat 15 for missing 2 mins.1 point

As i said before .. when has he asked in public for help or explain in detail what is going on ? saying Swindon Speedway is over at the Abbey is not for him to decide .or say He only went public after the leaked memo from the speedway meeting . That said the dogs was closing and that has since been said to be untrue He made zero effort to keep speedway going at the Abbey as has now waved the white flag . . No one and more so someone like Terry Russell does not just give up on a asset like Swindon Speedway and set up a new company with the person who has put him out of Business unless he been given money to do so . If you can show me any links when Russell has said the club is up for sale or asked for help money wise are be most greatful but ive not seen them myself .. but of course we know why that is .1 point

I'm not Terry Russell's biggest fan but he is in business & it suprises me that he has continued to keep faith in the hope that GI will come up with the new stadium given their history, I suspect he may feel that he has been strung along for long enough by GI & their empty promises. Swindons time as a club may not be over look at Oxford, Only Terry Russells time at the club is over I don't believe he has flushed Swindons history I believe he has tried to keep the speedway going, I havent seen or heard of any promotion wanting to come in & take over from Mr Russell in the time that there has been no racing at Blunsdon. I'm sure he has taken a good sum from speedway over the years but also put a fair bit in1 point

When they come to the tapes at Poole on the 21st it will have been four weeks since the Lions last rode as a team whilst during the same period Pirates will have had 5 fixtures. Whilst appreciating that the Lions Riders will have ridden in a few Premiership & NDL fixtures for other teams (which as we all know none speedway folk find difficult to comprehend) not being together as a team for such a long period of time will be a handicap come the first leg & something that favors Poole in being able to gain a decent first leg advantage. Let's hope this aspect doesn't greatly impact on the "occasion" - but it will most probably do so.1 point

Plus Poole drew up there in the league then walloped them at Poole, so yes definitely Leicester and Poole the 2 top teams1 point
