KL have released Edwards from their line-up, so that he can ride for Mildenhall. Apparently BSPL had insisted he turn out for the Stars because Prem has priority - but common sense has prevailed4 points

Personally I think the Cooks will be better over the 2 legs than the Thompson’s and that will swing it in Pooles favour.4 points

Agree with you there, on my two trips to the Ox one exciting evening of racing v Glasgow, 2000 there, one borefest the Pairs, 3000 there, both hot evenings. Still think folks should be able to pay cash/card for entry on gate. Plus will fans interest wane if they have another poor season and the novelty wears off. Massive catchment area of millions. Good viewing if you're above air fence line and plenty of seats in grandstand unlike Swindon, which had poor viewing.3 points

Give it a rest …. Poole have been poor and out gated and out fought …. Leicester have been the best side in the league and are proving why tonight Always excuses but it’s fun to see lol2 points

Joe Thompson been very impressive tonight... Why do Poole have a Rat as a club mascot?2 points

Howarth. He is getting married on Saturday. Didnt know a guest could be used for a wedding event. Its in his contract. No riding a week before wedding as risking injury! Guest is illegal.2 points

As for the Monarchs team. I'd be absolutely delighted if the run & not bothered who they'd sign as long as the Speedway continued.2 points

My prediction from a lions fan. I'm going with hope rather than expectation. I think we will do a decent job at Poole, not win but atleast keep it semi competitive for the second leg. Think it will be 52-38 in favour of the pirates. Ben Cook will be the difference tonight as a 4th heat leader. I expect Joe Thomson to be battling hard but struggling for points with clegg getting an extra ride. Nicholls at 4 is a interesting one for sure...This works if Dan Thomson can produce the goods like he did last time but that's a big ask for an inexperienced 18 year old. If Dan can get 5/6 points then that's a decent return for him especially at 5. I hope this is a great final for both sets of supporters. Either way I'm so delighted with Leicester's season finishing top and the cubs potentially doing the double it's been a great year for Leicester. Top of the league means we were the best through the season, even though a we don't get a trophy it doesn't matter that much to me, play offs and finish top are as good as eachother. Good luck pirates and even better good luck for the lions!!2 points

I do hope attendances hold up next season (and beyond). I certainly intend to go to more meetings next year. There are some faults with the place - it's not the best stadium for watching the sport and the tractor in the middle of the green doesn't help and advanced purchasing of tickets is a pain. The quality of the racing has generally been pretty good. Things in its favour for me 1. the staff at the stadium have been welcoming and polite 2. the place is clean and tidy (and not all speedway stadia are 3. the fans have been friendly and I've had a pleasant chat with a number of them. Long may it continue and please try and get Bomber there next season! The management have been doing a very good job and should be congratulated. I suggest they might like to contact the council about their proposed traffic scheme - it c could affect attendances.2 points

That's why Poole's track copes well with the rain, they have manure riding on it every week (sorry, couldn't resist).2 points

It has rained again overnight. Its very wet everywhere & just not drying out. Time will tell i guess2 points

Maybe this is the end of "protected" race nights? . Just goes to show what a farce it is (trying to) running meetings at the back end of October. It happens every year, yet they don't do anything about it. I'm half glad I'm out of it all, but if the Diamonds did return (I know it ain't gonna happen) I'd be there in a flash.2 points

Looking at the photo of the Leicester track yesterday, I am not sure it will be sorted for Saturday?2 points

Tipping down. Track will be flooded but will it prove too much for Poole promotion? Or will they salvage it in a matter of just a few hours? https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar2 points

That Sheffield team is illegal where is Ellis. Aces fans want to give him a warm reception. Im guessing Ellis knew this and bottled it2 points

That's the problem with current GSA rules, big wins cause big swings in averages. Needs to be over more matches to give a more realistic figures. Can't remember what it used to be, but presume they were trying to 'fix' some anomalies but just cause different ones. Needs relooking at2 points

Not saying you're right or wrong... Just saying the argument is pointless... Both riders are better than the other on different days, Jack has been better in the GP compared to Max, but Max has been better in Britain. I'm just happy to see them in this country and hope they're both back next year, plus Doyle and I can't stand all 3 of them, just respect how good they are, more loyal to British speedway than our own GP riders. Would love to see a few more of the bigger names back, Freddie, Bewley, Thorssell, Chris Holder etc... Maybe a few new faces... Please...?2 points
-
Not petty. Facts speak for themselves. I’m happy to have jack back. The more gp riders the better Don’t get the bitching against Sheffield riders and promotion. Probably jealousy but who cares.2 points
-
This argument Max vs Jack is pretty uninteresting and petty... They're both GP riders, both brilliant in the UK, can we not just be happy to have big names riding in Britain because not many of them do, even in positives people find something to moan about2 points

Seeing as Trackrat and Iain love a weather forecast... Raining every morning between now and Sat in Leicester according to Met Office. So doable as long as they can sort the surface out that was shown on Tues.1 point

A meeting of two halves the first part Leicester were gating and Poole had no answer then Poole found there gating gloves and Leicester had no answer, not a great meeting but the score line keeps it interesting for the second leg.1 point

Stop whinging and wining it's the final,Leicester get stuck in.1 point

Given that Sheffield have a meeting in November why can’t Mildenhall pick a Saturday or Sunday in early/mid November to run these meetings rather than a off night when few will bother to traipse across country to watch late night speedway? Feel for the riders as well as the supporters who deserve more respect. Says it all about how the sport is run in this country and those in charge who continually stick two fingers up at all and sundry. They will only learn if fans boycott meetings but that will not happen but collectively supporters need to do something to teach these morons a lesson.1 point

I have a second generation Chromecast which is quite old now and so far it's been seamless. The specification of the phone & TV are not factors as long as the HDMI port on the TV support the Chromecast requirements. I don't know how you'd know but all I can say is that I use it on an older TV which isn't even smart and it's fine. Steve is referring to screen mirroring so in that case the TV & phone specifications are vitally important. WiFi quality is obviously important whatever way you watch a stream. Screen mirroring is establishing a connection between your phone and the TV to duplicate whatever is on your phone screen onto your TV screen so processing speed / memory of phone will be a factor and it will use wi-fi capacity too maintaining the connection between the phone & TV. Chromecast is a completely different process because once you have connected to it, the Chromecast is now hosting the stream and projecting it directly onto your TV screen through the HDMI port and the phone is no longer part of the process apart from as a remote control so less demanding on WiFi. No need to worry about sizing the picture to the TV screen, it's instantly full screen. You can have the phone on standby or use it for other applications without affecting the stream. I believe you can cast directly to some smart TV's without a Chromecast device but mines a bit hit and miss as to whether it appears in the cast devices list and it doesn't on BSN but the Chromecast does.1 point

He hasnt managed to get out of the reserve berth at Championship level... he would be the worst reserve in the league based on this years reserves and i include rising stars in that!! hes not even been dominant at NL level!!1 point

Thank you. You’ve just confirmed that you are a child after all. Go outside and play with your mates, if you have any.1 point

Jason Edwards has been told he must go to Sheffield * Belle Vue for one reserve ride, rather than take up to 12 rides at Mildenhall in their final double header tomorrow, so that would suggest Poole and Leicester ought to get priority over Lawson, R Worrall and Mountain. But that's me naively assuming that decisions will be made on a logically consistent basis. * Edited to correct error on my part.1 point

The forecasted early morning rain has arrived but should clear by 11am. Sunshine and strong winds for the rest of the day should suit the track well. COYP1 point

We had a heavy shower yesterday afternoon and even the footpath outside my house (in the shade) hasn't completely dried out! That's why nobody outside our country runs important Speedway matches at this time of year, there's just not enough hours of daylight for conditions to dry out before the next dollop of rain arrives1 point

Being ultra fair both promotions would have known Lambert wasn’t riding because of the line up website used by officials and Referees etc in the lead up to the meeting., notwithstanding that even out of courtesy BV would have let Lynn know he had twisted his ankle and was injured. (I seriously doubt that anyone on this forum honestly believes this $hyte but hey ho let’s play the game anyway) The fact that Neither club said anything is extremely poor. But let’s be fair Lambert was brought in for one purpose only, to give BV the edge in the Play Offs, he was never going to do anything else and most understood that. However yet another kicking for the supporters who paid to attend, honestly thinking Lambert was riding, wonderful PR yet again.1 point

Irrespective of personality and who rode where and when - what matters in Sheffield is how good is Holder at Owlerton and at U.K. tracks - Sheffield fans will I am sure be glad to see him back and at no1 again1 point
