OK, I'm checking out now. I've quite enjoyed the, on the whole good natured, banter with you Pesky Pirates... I'll miss all the weather chat but I'm gonna leave the next 100 pages to the Pesky Pirates telling us how they was robbed if they lose it or how it was a mighty victory if they win it. I was going to sign off with let's hope that Speedway is the winner... but it's been a massive loser in this whole sorry shambles!14 points

Ok rant time. Why are some Poole fans getting irate about Leicester hiring Kings Lynn for some practice? They have to remember this is their HOME leg just unfortunate that it has to be ridden away from Leicester. This is NOT and I repeat NOT being held on a neutral track. For the purposes of the 2nd leg of this competition this is Leicester's home track!! Can't remember any annoyance when Poole had a practice session before 1st leg. Rant over.12 points

Sports a ******* joke right now....yes I know you get the usual 'just be thankful there is speedway' brigade piping up but for the love of God the ending to this season?!.....unbelievable. How can anyone explain the point of a season where two sides qualify , and let's be honest by far the best sides, in a league where you ride home and away and then same in a semi only for the Title to be decided on one home track and one neutral? Wtaf....added to that the fiasco of Mildenhalls line up, LambertGate, running a 6th round of an event before the 5th round which was moved to a track with no relevance to it only to be shelved anyway....oh and a league missing the cut off completion date (PL) and having to finish it AFTER its playoffs ....pathetic....would had followed tonights meeting on updates as it was well poised but not now, yes Leicester may win although probably not but whatever the overall result it's an absolute sham and makes a mockery of the whole season.8 points

Yes It is effectively Leicester's home track for the final. So of course they should be allowed a practice session!6 points

Hopefully we see a cracking meeting, that’s really all that matters in this situation.5 points

Long journey back but for the 50 odd Pirates fans it will pass quickly. Commiserations to Leicester. Spoke to Gary May but he said nothing he could do to stop the onslaught. Some great racing tonight on a very good track.4 points

Absolutely not. Poole is a well-run, successful, speedway club. Probably the envy of some other promotions in all the leagues Sadly, they are blighted by having a very few, but very outspoken, minority of 'fans' who do them a great deal of harm by alienating easily-led contributors on here. Looking forward to tonight's contest, may the best team win!4 points

Poole fans left Tuesday did you not know is a 3 day trek for them4 points

Moving to Kings Lynn gives them a better chance of winning the title. The downside is loss of revenue so I think they would rather have a big crowd and defeat than winning it in front of 4-500. Leaving early to make sure I am not under stress in traffic jambs. Luckily have some good business on the way so will be able to say business trip. Come on Poole let’s do well deserved back to back titles! Same 1-7 we started the season with.4 points

Forecast is unbroken sunshine and moonlight for today in Nelson's county! As for practice, I'd have thought any team can do it an any time on their own circuit, and that exactly what Leicester are doing today so it's not even an issue really.4 points

Could there be room for a Workington team in the NDL come 2023? Here's hoping!!! There will be a management meeting towards the end of November... fingers crossed... Could be a huge announcement coming that is for sure... Track is ready to go.. Ancillary Buildings; Security and Utilities are the next big challenges to overcome... So get your team requests in now Comets fans as you never know what you could be getting for Christmas... Do "We (still) Believe"? H18tory was made in 2018 and could be made again in 2023... UTC... Definitely put themselves in the shop window for a Prem place. Ben like an Aussie Chris Harris with all the passing tonight!3 points

Are we going to have a sun delay! Which would be quite ironic really3 points

I haven't been to Lynn in years... in fact I think the last time was when Leicester were there in 2018 and the meeting was abandoned because Buster didn't have enough medical cover and there was curfew and it finished so late that all the late night road maintenance had started and I had to make a 50 mile detour to get home! I vowed I would never return and have never been since. It used to be a fantastic race track before Buster changed the surface3 points

Well I’m glad now in the light of day the flack Glasgow got for pulling out maybe seems a bit unjust. I agree the statement used to explain why they were pulling the team out might not have sat well in all camps, but a statement of “we’re pulling out because this is a farce and will never be run” probably would’ve not looked so professional.3 points

The voice of common sense! Home Leg and perfectly entitled to do what Poole did before home matches e.g have practise and track prepared to their choice. They will also be entitled to use their own Start Marshalls and other Track Staff + Officials if they so desire surely?3 points
-
It is their 'home' leg. So no problem with them practicing on it.3 points

Well he was there going by his Instagram! Really hope both the Cook's get a place in the Prem next season, they deserve it. Especially Ben who has only been riding for Poole and no one else, so to get that form most of the season is amazing!2 points

Lots of bleating from the Poole lot that the Thompons were dirty on Kemp but didn't see it myself, was a good, hard race.2 points

Pirates at a canter even though they are a five man side, as expected the Cooks had no problem getting round Lynn. Feel for Leicester, they finished top and haven't had a home leg but the most important thing is that the sport learns from this shambolic season and if it doesn't the clear the hierarchy out and start again.2 points

First time seeing Ben and Zac Cook, very impressive!2 points

But.... Apart from that... I think they did really well...2 points

But that governed the combined CMA of the declared seven and Mildenhall are currently north of 48 points. So by those metrics the Fen Tigers are too strong!!2 points

It’s a shame as I assume whatever team win won’t have much time to go round and celebrate with there fans as they have to get a 2nd meeting on. If Poole win fair play if Leicester win fair play I hope it’s a fitting meeting to end the season on and it’s not to cold for everyone I reckon the tea and coffee stands will make a fortune tonight and that’s the only prediction you will get out of me.2 points

It's been a long week haha! Forgot about it being dark at 5pm lol.2 points

This has to be looking for a bite? “better chance of winning the title” you have to be kidding, there are only 3 riders in the whole league who have scored more points away from home than at home and none of them ride for Leicester. The Thomson Twins would’ve been the deciding factor on wether Leicester would’ve turned over the 8 point deficit. be under no illusion, if certain riders didn’t get set in the right position before August and the playoffs there would’ve been changes most definitely in the Poole line up.2 points

Forum would be very dull without any banter..... can't see what 'great deal of harm' being outspoken is ..... any reaction is the responsibility of said individual/s..... Its not an outspoken Poole fan that alienates 'easily led contributors' (as you put it...) its the unconscious mind of the easily led contributor.2 points

Best day for yonks. After the remedial work done at leicester its daft they couldnt get their own track worthy of racing on today tbh.2 points

And you can be 100% sure Poole would be doing the same were it the other way around. Poole have held a number of practice sessions over the season, as have many of the clubs but considering the importance it’s absolutely normal..! Dan & Joe Thompson for Leicester have apparently never ridden KL either so there’s inexperience on both sides. Here’s to a great contest either way, it’ll be a long winter!2 points

Nobody has, it is your home leg that unfortunately you cannot have at home, the least you should get is a practice on what is, for tomorrow night, your home track.2 points
-
Who's mentioned it being a neutral track... other than you?2 points
-
So they should. It's their "Home Leg"........... Your just a genuine Poole fan that happens to get a kick out of being a troll, at your age2 points

So Leicester are practising all afternoon tomorrow at Kings Lynn but Poole are not allowed in the stadium. And Poole have 3 riders who have never been on the KL track. Understandable if Leicester were practising on their own track but this will give them a huge advantage tomorrow with setups, lines on track etc. Going to be very hard for Pirates to not lose the lead in the first few heats. And some on here want Poole to throw the first two heats? It could be 10-2 regardless!2 points
-
More than likely dropped Sweden due to his poor health with long covid so unlikely to want to ride over here.2 points

What if any of the Poole riders are doubling up with Leicester next season haha2 points

Not riding next season for Poole I would assume.1 point

The so called powers that be must take a wicked oath to never ever ever go down the road of late October ever again, it's been utterly shambolic how league speedways been run since august. Congrats to the pirates .1 point

Well it would be, you had a home leg we didn't! Last time in the KOC SF Thompsons got 10, tonight it's 2.1 point

As the NDL rules force the use of RR and multiple 3 point riders in circumstances such as this there can't be a minimum team points total. The six riders programmed have a combined average of 30.62, which I expect exceeds the seven-man total of the infamous S****horpe team of a few years ago. I'm surprised to see Boughen in the line-up as this meeting will give him an MA I believe.1 point
-
On balance, I don’t have a problem with this. It effectively gives Leicester back a degree of the home track advantage that they’ve lost. And it’s a better idea than iainb’s of Poole not sending any riders out in the first two heats. There’s a limit as to how much practice will be possible without it requiring a complete regrade so the track may well be different between practice and racing.1 point
