  1. The whole of last season was a farce.

  2. Biggest mistake by the promoters overturning the 2 home 2 away LEAGUE meetings for 2023. They should have asked the fans what they think!

  3. Scorpions to have race suits for 2023... for your chance to own one, message Gail Godfrey

  4. I see Son of God has signed for Leicester . That possibly makes the Jubilee Cup thingy even sillier

  5. Brilliant to see the Comets back (always one of my favourite places to visit) and plan is for a couple of trips up next season (my local RL club Siddal have away matches at Kells (Whitehaven) and Wath Brow Hornets (Cleator Moor) so with a bit of luck I'll be able to do both on the same day). Had a bit of a look at the track a few weeks ago and it looks first class.

  8. Kerr is still at Sheffield apparently. Sedgmen & Mountain out for Bellego & Gilkes are the only changes apparently.

  9. 'Fraid not...... Rowe is 5.08, James W is 5.51 and JJ 4.72. Per the official BSPL list. You got a drawing board to go back to?

  10. If they did, I would doubt they would take any notice anyway.

  11. Not their fans though unfortunately I actually have a soft spot for poole, the 3 times I've been the racing and atmosphere was brilliant and the town is nice too.

  12. Which makes it nothing more than a pre season challenge unfortunately. Rew, Dan T and Ablitt completing Poole then presumably.

  13. ITK's are saying Gilkes so I've just gone with the flow so to speak.

  17. Sad to see the demise of my favourite magazines. I have read all of them from back to front. I do get other periodicals that I read the parts that interest me. The thing about Backtrack and Classic Speedway was that I read every single word. I will miss them very much - but - I do have every single copy of both to look back on, and, that at least is a great compensation. Thanks to Tony, Susie et al for all their hard work, they can be very proud of how their Magazines have enterained us over the years. In a very real sense I can say - - -- 'THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES'.

  18. Just starting a thread so that people can highlight and discuss the riders they'd like to see in the NL next season. Most notably the riders who are 'coming of age' Who are they? As far as I can tell Max James and Luke Harrison will be old enough, I'm guessing Max James to Leicester and Luke Harrison to Berwick or Oxford perhaps? Great to see so many young talents coming through. Are the likes of Ashton Vale and the other Junior competition stars old enough for next season too? Nearly forgot to mention Ashton Boughen (Sp?) What a rider this lad looks like he's going to be

  19. If Kerr can keep the form he showed after signing this year that septet will take some stopping.

  21. Sometimes less is more, so around 14 meetings with a cup run and a possibility of play offs, may fit the bill especially in the financial climate as it is !!! A lot of people would love to go to speedway every week but IMO a meeting every 2 weeks could work, less meetings but maybe more people attending, then have some open meetings, with star names (if allowed to ride ) am sure a certain maryport resident would love to have a competitive blast around the Northside areana , and it's not THJ

  22. Disappointed to see quite a few comments along the lines of "if Ipswich have Hume at reserve alongside a RS, they'll get the wooden spoon" 1) surely with a bigger reduction 4.09 down to 3.07, Hume would be a good signing? 2) shame about the lack of "backing the Brits" 3) surely Hume / Brennan / Mountain moving up is what's best for British Speedway? Riders can't stay "rising stars" forever, so I'm hopeful all 3 will get team spots!

  24. The big difference with Matt's Poole team options is that they usually win trophies at whatever level they choose to run. References to hair dressing really sums up looking backwards rather than onwards and upwards.

  25. They did ask the fans what they thought of the points system of which over 70% decided to go back to 2 point wins, no away bonus points & aggregate point for the technical tracks to benefit from.

  26. I have,,, I'm not saying ipswich will finish last,,, but they won't be winning anything either,,,, although Doyle could win the pairs again

  27. Because being an asset means absolutely feck all nowadays. The rider goes where they want. Why the rider would want to leave you say? Now that doesn't take a Mensa candidate to work out

  28. I might be wrong, but wasn't the set up a few years back, a league competition with one home and away for all clubs, and an extra competition for the stand alone clubs who wanted more fixtures?

  29. That’s what happens when you pull out a jubilee trophy. They spit the dummy.

  30. Matt always has 2 or 3 team options every season. Not sure where the 'Prem in 2024' has come from unless it's their final season at Poole Stadium? Even then it would need to be on Wednesdays for the Prem to be considered. I wonder if the Dream team includes Bomber?

  33. Lawson will be riding for Leicester and they will also use R/R for Harris.......... who will be guesting for Poole.

  34. Love IOW but they are having a great time doing their own thing. I think most teams have already declared an intention to run either via announcement or actions. Belle Vue are the only side ive neither seen or heard any confirmation of running but they are usually committed so fingers crossed for a 9 team league.

  35. King's Lynn's loss Leicester's gain. An excellent side being built there.

  36. Yeah. We will be strong bottom end of team though. And with Bewley and Kurtz it should be enough in the top end of the team We won’t be best team assembled but we will be there or there abouts have to remember this will be wrights first season without a shoulder injury, he’s had this injury a few years but finally had it operated on in October. So I think we will see a better Charles wright

  37. So Lawson has signed for Leicester in the premiership, so which team is he going to ride for in the jubilee final

  38. I think if there's asbestos present it's not just a case pf taking a wrecking ball to things. It has to be disposed of in a controlled manner... which will cost

  39. Big task if they are ,£20 getting a bit steep IMO.Diehards will pay, don’t know about the rest on a regular basis.

  40. Only time Bomber will ride at Glasgow next season is when he visits with Birmingham. And guests for in no particular order. Berwick. Edinburgh. Redcar. Scunthorpe. Plymouth.

  41. Shanes and morris can’t be around this team. Crowds aren’t gonna come out for them. Harris and Tom Brennan will be next

  43. Tonight's Gladiators TV Premiere sees the 'Gladiators' take on the Leicester 'Lions' in their first home Championship match of the 2022 season. The Premiere starts at 7pm, and includes all the on track action along with pit interviews throughout.

  44. Brandon estates Not having a good month are they ,i don’t know what tariffs were available but at least they got rinsed with the court costs. Additionally Coventry uni have plans to install a 3G pitch which weakens any perceived need for one at Brandon. Happy days Up the Bees

  45. Last time the Lions moved up it was pure vanity and we simply made up the numbers, signing a few riders on short term deals who were not committed. With the current owner/management set up I think we will see a different mindset and a superior product served up.

  46. Always remembered at Leicester for his 'team riding' with Pawal Przedpelski.

  47. Track has consistently produced the best Speedway I have seen anywhere this year... and riders from better teams than Birmingham will be visiting, so it's not a problem
