I don't know about that. I think a fresh start will do him good, but he showed in the British Final he's still up there with as one of the best British riders outside the GPs. The biggest challenge with Cookie is he's such a enigma, and you just can't he sure what you'll get at the moment, which can be frustrating when you know what he can do, but that's not always what you get. I hope he recaptures what he had whenever he ends up, because he's still incredible to watch when he's on it.5 points

Remember a Glasgow side had parker stancl greaves Bentley and Graham Jones in the top 5. A shoe in you'd think. But Cory Blackman and Barry Campbell barely scored a point from reserve season went nowhere. Since then always been a believer in at least one strong reserve.5 points

Not surprised his attitude in the final celebration would not have done him any favours, thought he would improve more than he did last year there is a good rider in there and if Poole can't make him better who can ( I'm ducking down )5 points

I'm not a Berwick fan but the difference between Bomber and Rooboy is pretty simple and it's not averages (of the oh so many the sport gives us) Rooboy has had a season out so will probably take time to get into the swing of things. Having read on this thread that he's not got a great record at Berwick. Known to whinge if it's too wet or grippy and it hardly ever rains in Berwick. Whereas Bomber would race on a ploughed field in a monsoon and still come into the pits with a big grin4 points

Belle Vue won the top award, the "Outstanding Contribution to Manchester Sport" at the Manchester Sports Awards last night. Good for the sport for the Premiership Speedway Trophy to be up there rubbing shoulders with Manchester City's Premier League football trophy3 points

I don't get the negativity on Harris going to Glasgow, he is one of the best riders in the league and an improvement on Craig Cook, that makes the team stronger.3 points

Looks like Oxford a releasing their 1-7 in an hour so we will find out if the Harris to Oxford rumours are true. My money is still on Glasgow though.3 points

Now now come on Mr Barrie, through his writings on his various platforms, has told us he doesn't use this forum and sees it as mostly full of " forum fannies ". To tell us one thing then do another would be of the upmost hypocrisy. I am sure Cresent Girl pays their money either at the turnstile, on line or season pass, that imo entitles them to an opinion.3 points

I'd say Cook doesn't have to recapture his old form, he only needs to up his 8.2 ave to be considered a good signing. Which I believe he could do at Edinburgh.2 points

All the arguing about this team and that team is pure conjecture, what counts will happen on the track next year, it wont stop the debate nor should it.2 points

IF Harris goes to Glasgow you'll see a much different rider than you did last time around. Very good sponsor keeping check on his machinery allowing Bomber to just get out and race, he'll do well around that track with better machinery2 points

Great top three with the limit but that tail with heeps is very concerning, surely Newman would have been better value? killen looks a prospect but Atkins….Daddy must be sponsoring this year2 points

Yep that’s a steal that one I agree. Was like sh!t off a shovel at Foxhall this year. Let’s hope the rumours of KK going there are true to instantly undo that good work2 points

Speedway (albeit on a much lesser scale) is no different to football. The clubs withe richest owners, biggest sponsors and profitable businesses to subsidise them are the clubs who do all the winning and own a large rider asset base. Gate receipts at those clubs will never cover the costs of riders "pay packages" and all the other associated operating costs. When these owners lose interest or they wish to concentrate on running their businesses , the club folds often with large debts. Belle Vue bought the Premier League p.off title by affording a large fee for a guest. Poole have always been able to offer their overseas riders an accommodation package and other benefits courtesy of their promoters hotel. There cannot be a single PL or CL club running today that is honestly a viable business, without being propped up by sponsorship and subsidy every season. Unless there is a sudden resurgence in crowd levels to that of 20 years ago - nothing will change.2 points

When you consider Poole, Leicester and Glasgow are going to drop 4, 5 and 6 points respectively from their final score next year it just shows how much speedway is being diluted. My thoughts are the league winners final average should be the building point for the next season so teams are improving. Maybe we would get some loyalty and riders returning the next year.2 points

All this talk of Iversen Bjeer Kaspzak at KL is this were British speedway is at ? Older riders on the downhill side to retirement having final pay day out of British speedway- there was a time clubs would bring in young talent from Europe and they’d want to come here .2 points

Maybe if they paid the thousands of pounds owed to the ex riders they might talk …. But this is speedway so that won’t happen.2 points

It just looks very bad on paper and it's hard to imagine anyone else producing a weaker team at this stage. TJ had a Championship average that was much lower than the converted Premiership average that Berwick had to sign him on. How long will Schlein take to dial in again? No power at reserve either.2 points

Whether he is or not, you dont see a queue of promoters fighting with each other to take over from him do you? A thankless task I would imagine... I remember reading Jon Cook's summary of his time on the MC in the Star and the amount of pressure he got put under when being asked (often at the last minute), to make a ruling on a guest replacement for example... Promoters threatening to not run meetings, close tracks down, if they didnt get the result they wanted... Unfortunately so much of the issue all goes back ultimately to having a "subjective rule book" rather than a "specific" one... Meaning interpretation is often allowed... With the ultimate in fudge and cop out being the "in Speedway's interest" catch all caveat.... So many issues... Yet. So many are self inflicted...2 points

I've seen those responses,, and some of those people live on a different planet. In fact,, I would say most are absolutely clueless about speedway and what makes a good or bad team.1 point

Disagree, don’t think many would bat an eyelid if King wasn’t in the team as long as the septet put together looked a potential title winning one.1 point
