Last year was unacceptable not making any changes, we looked crap from the start so I hope they move a bit quicker this season if it starts heading south4 points

Popped up to the track yesterday and have to say how impressed I was with the activity going on by the band of volunteers getting things ready. Track staff were working tirelessly to make good the track on the pits exit with the installation of kick boards on the outer perimeter and new safety fence, half of the air fence was installed, lots of areas have been tidied up and painted and a whole crew were hard at it painting the inner perimeter fence. The smell of fresh paint everywhere reminded me of my days working in education when we knew that OFSTED were due a visit! Could it be that the newly crowned King has booked one of the corporate boxes for a bit of a do after his Coronation?!!!!!3 points

I think top 4 is realistic but now other teams have announced some big names it's getting hard and harder to imagine Leicester lifting any silverware. Think this season relies upon the form of Jake Allen and Justin Sedgmen. Fricke will do the business home and away. Lawson is a track specialist at Leicester and is a seasoned pro. Harris is a legend and can still provide big score especially away from Leicester. Morris is the track record holder and will up his average for sure. Dan Thomson will struggle away but he will claim to some big scalps at home. Think if Sedgmen and Allen can master the lions den then who knows. I'm going leicester for 4th spot.3 points

Absolutely. I’ll be paying a visit and very much looking forward to it. Well done to all involved it looks fantastic and I hope it’s well attended because the effort put in here certainly deserves it.3 points

Given your concern Lewy I just called Danny Ford. He confirmed he's been a touch constipated but Skidder should be back on top form soon.2 points

Is that another dart landed? It looks like I'm winning that speed boat after all.2 points

Daft rule. Could end waiting longer. Movement at the start one minute goes on. Rider misses the one minute. Fresh 2 minutes go on for a replacement. Just do what all other leagues do in the world 2 minute clock and if you’re not at the tapes by then you’re out. Don’t know why we love to complicate things in Britain.2 points

Him and Ben are fast learners, so shouldn't take Zach too long. And Zach has rode for Plymouth, so Wolves will seem massive in comparison1 point
-
It was originally thought he would be a 4, and in the “riders” section of the official website they also had him down as a 4. They’ve now changed it to 5 and Presenter has also confirmed the assessed 5. I think it makes little difference as I think Hume has always been pencilled in to fill the last spot if we signed Emil. In an ideal world you’d want Rew starting at reserve whilst he settles in, but out of the two I think it’s better that Hume will start at reserve and Rew in the main body so it’s worked out ok.1 point
-
It was discussed during the winter that Rew would be 5 cos of amount of meetings he did last season in Poland or Denmark? It was Tate Z who would be 4 (if he got a team place) as he only did the odd one. This was discussed Nov/Dec time, but whether it was factually correct or not idk. But might be if he is a 5!!1 point

A lot depends on Zach and Rory imo. Table could be close all the way down with all teams taking points off each other. Wolves team looks good on its own, but when you start comparing to others, doesn't seem as strong to me. But you never know!1 point

I'm confident that we'll make play-offs because we're certainly better than Leicester, KL & Wolves, We just need the one mid-season change to give us a strong chance in the play-offs imo. Nicki P has been training hard in Dubai this winter so he's not over here just for an easy pay day. It was looking bleak at one stage with NKI at 1 along with Worrall & Andersen which would've made us favourites for the wooden spoon but we've managed to come up smelling of roses after the long team building process.1 point

Personally think Richie has more skill on the bike but Steve more focused and consistent1 point

Bluey Scott is not the same as Jack Scott ,El Addio. They are both as you say a rich part of speedway history though.1 point

I saw Bluey race a couple of times at Somerton Park in the old PL in 1964- he was the Middlesbrough Bears Captain and top scored with 9 points against the Wasps the time I saw him. I also him turn out for an "official test match" Britain v. Overseas in the same year.Bluey was a well known nice guy, very approachable for the fansand often hosted his old speedway comrades when they visited Oz after they all retired. Stayed in touch with people like Howard Cole and Reg Fearman right until the end of his life.1 point

Mmm being a bit sarcastic there, the middle order is one of the strongest and the best R/S by a long way. However Becker needs to step up and Rory needs to hit the ground running, if that happens we should easily make the playoffs.1 point

I didn't mean 200 at a time. 10 to 20 maybe at a time. Whether there are 100 or 500 fans at the P&P i wouldn't of thought it would cost any more for rent ?.Lynn has Press ETC only during the day, and all fans welcome at 7.30 when the riders will take to the track. The crowds Poole get in the Champ i would of thought Ford could afford a steward or 2 at a tenner an hour.1 point

Pedersen looks as fit as a fiddle on Instagram. Any speedway rider can get injured so worrying about what may happen is silly. I expect Basso to kick on further this season I agree with you on Worrall but expect him to be moved on if he struggles1 point
-
Have you seen the wolves team? That’s why everyone predicts them to be bottom1 point
-
Can see both sides of this but I'm not sure dividing season ticket holders and casual supporters (who might go every week anyway) is the best idea really.1 point
-
I agree Plymouth look weaker at reserve (although Trigger may be ok at home). But expect plenty of bonus points due to big home wins. Plus their strong top end will stop big defeats away.1 point
-
Worrall suffered a puncture during the race and ended up crawling over the line in fourth, I think Thompson took him on the run in IIRC.1 point

Not heard about any other countries following suit, but will defo be interesting to see how it works in reality. As for the 'micro movement' ruling.....this is a very good move. There were a few Extraleague meetings last year that had farcical stoppages based on this, and you could see no advantage was gained when watching the replays.1 point
-
Agree with that, Plymouth's reserves too inexperienced for top spot IMO but they look stone wall top five along with Poole, Glasgow, Scunny & Redcar. Oxford & Edinburgh to scrap it out for 6th with Berwick & Brum adrift. IMHO1 point

Interesting first choice. Their reserves stop me from putting them top (don't know what they are going to do!). Think I would go for Redcar. Be interesting if they can get some sort of home advantage going.1 point

This was reported earlier this afternoon It's been reported that young Ace Pijper lost consciousness temporarily and is now undergoing detailed checks in Bordeaux hospital1 point

Although it's good to see Dan riding in the Premiership as a rising star, surely he is, without question, Championship material. The mad maths that has him riding in division 1 and 3 but not 2 is a bit bonkers.1 point

Remember the days when Australians were brought up riding on the massive open spaces of Sydney Showground etc while the Danes were the small track specialists from their home country. Strange now to see a Wolves team dominated by Aussies and a Peterborough team full of Danes1 point

So Nicki announces his own signing.... Presume Peterborough must be hanging fire to see if Denmark invades anyone.....?1 point
-
I was aware that Bailey had signed for Workington but feel the main thrust of this thread is looking at riders who have been squeezed out of the Championship by lowering the points limit to 40. If you agree with this then perhaps Dan Thompson should be added as he has no Championship team, though he is with Leicester in the top flight.1 point

You didn't have a number one last year, now you've got one of the best riders in the division and you're still not happy. If he doesn't live up to his average then you'll be able to sign one of the numerous 5 point riders left without a team place to strengthen your lower order1 point

Or just put the two minutes on as soon as the race is stopped. The hold up isn't the two minute warning, it's not putting the two minute warning on quick enough. So not putting the shiny new one minute warning on quick enough will still mean there is some hanging about. If there was actually two minutes between a stoppage and a restart, it wouldn't be a problem in the first place.1 point
