Laughable? Doyle and Emil had both been beaten by Basso who is a 6 point rookie. Id say its more laughable to suggest Pedersen couldnt of popped out of the gate to beat one or both of those, considering how well hes done in Poland so far this season.3 points
-
Really? Heat 1 - Pedersen on the wrong end of a 5-1 when he crashed Heat 6 - Basso gets beat by Sayfutdinov Heat 10 - Iversen gets a 5-1 Heats 13 and 15 no chance Sorry I dont think Pedersen would have done any better Rew - next big superstar from oz3 points

My guess Putin following the meeting on Speedway updates to see how his buddy Emil is doing lol3 points

Shame to see Ed Overland hanging up his mic.He is focusing on his health.Such a distinctive voice he had and he will be missed by many with his announcements. The other guy in the middle Andy Mitchell also finishing as he has work commitments. Kevin Moore takes on the announcing role from Edwin. Also it's great to have Gavin Caney back in the middle on the mic as presenter.3 points

So ok a 5-1 to us becomes a 3-3 still a loss on the night And even if he split them the other time a 4-2 to Ipswich would have been a draw So no I don’t think the loss of Pedersen cost them any points at all2 points

Ipswich only being 2 up going into Ht 14 when we've ran 13 Heats of Speedway without having any rider at No.1 is hardly anything to shout about. Wouldn't have even been ahead by 2 if it wasn't for a couple of mistakes made by Panthers riders. Panthers are a good side as proven by the way they battled tonight but the huge concern is how injury prone the top two are, One crash and they're done for the night. It's costs us league points tonight and I'm certain it's going to cost us even more points throughout the season as I can see the same situation unfolding on several occasions unfortunately.2 points

Two points down going into heat 15 after losing their number 1 on the opening two bends has cost Peterborough without a doubt.2 points

Can't see the Witches getting battered anywhere this season with two solid big hitters in the team...2 points

As a (temporary) Leicester fan, I can't imagine how anyone would approach this meeting as an 18 year old riding in the same team as Jason Doyle, Emil Sayfutdinov, Danny King and a few other guys that rate a mention. Watch what they do and keep your head down when the tapes rise Joe. And good luck. This is the chance of a lifetime (so far anyway).2 points

I was being very literal with my timings, obviously there's track grading and such that's needed, especially with the demise of the track raker... but it does make you wonder where the time goes? I do think/hope the timing of meetings is something Whizzer Morris will have a look at in his new role.2 points

The same Nicki who was behind Riss in heat one when he fell If you think in heats 13 and 15 he would have beaten Doyle and Emil twice then I’m sorry I don’t agree with you Worrall is a journeyman and the reserves tonight weren’t good considering we have possibly the weakest reserves in the league you would expect more maybe Basso is awesome at home but needs to up his game away though it didn’t take Rew long to find the fastest way around showground Peterborough need to win at home as that side away will be poor I think1 point

Enjoyed that tonight, done and dusted by not much after 9pm too.. Plenty of decent racing for a first meeting, with some strange decision making from the Aces riders who kept flying around bends one and two high up against the fence and often getting passed by the Tigers who rode much nearer the kerb.. Maybe the team manager should have mentioned it.. Amazed at how often the Tigers were on a 1-5 going into the first bend (and by quite a margin too), with whatever gate they came from not making a difference... The Aces look like a team (as suspected), that is a quality Heat Leader short but maybe that is why Dan is doing so poorly? Meaning they can replace one of their four second string level riders with Robert Lambert in May? Or could he come in as a Rising Star? The team that won the league last year would have found it much harder this season with all the better riders coming in to the other teams, so the team they have will need a huge effort to retain the title given only Bewley and Kurtz are genuine 2023 Premiership level HL's, and, as seen tonight, when one of them isnt on it the team will struggle.. Kurtz had sone cracking rides and Musielak is always worth watching wherever he rides, and special mention to Kerr, who ultimately made the difference... Sheffields league to lose I would suggest looking at how solid they are all the way down, but, as we know, injuries can play a huge part in Speedway which means "you never know"... A good start to the season though, looking forward to the PCMM next week...1 point

King has started this season like he did the season before last when he finished just shy of an 8 point average. If he gets back to that then the spearhead is as potent as they come. Riss and Rew chipping in too and it’ll matter little what the reserves do.1 point

Sayfutdinov shouldn't even be riding. Ridiculous how Ipswich are happy to support propaganda for Putin.1 point

Heart in mouth time here already. We cannot afford to keep producing poorly prepared tracks especially when our top two are injury prone.1 point

Think this will be a close one so going for a Panthers win 46-44. Great to see a good line up. May stand on the first bend for heat 1 with Nicki, Hans and Doyley in it.Hopefully a good meeting with no injuries.1 point

Any tie, either on the night or on aggregate, results in a Super Heat this year. If it's a tie on the night and on aggregate, then it's called a Super Heat Plus, because it's for 2 points.1 point

For me Peo Soderman was the first Swede I ever saw ride for my team in the '50s I think, and overnight when he came to ride for Brandon he became my favourite rider, basically because he was different, and a superb rider and nice guy as well. For some reason the various foreign riders who came to ride for the Bees seemed to hold a magical charisma, no disrespect meant to others. But by seeing and meeting these guys I realised that there really is another big bright world out there. Perhaps that was the spark that eventually set me on the way to travelling the world and my fascination with other countries and cultures. Henryk Zyto although not Swedish really sparked my interest in other countries. I thought he was a magician from behind the iron curtain. I suppose in a way in the '60s Gote Nordin replaced Peo for his absolute classy style and consistency. And then of course the great man himself, no it's not Norbold, but Ove was just pure strength and speed, and I clearly remember standing in the pits at Long Eaton one night watching his great calmness throughout a meeting and knowing that I was, I suppose in the presence of greatness in our sport.1 point

I haven't been to a speedway meeting since Newcastle closed, and thoroughly enjoyed this evening. Big thanks to the Redcar promotion for putting on the fixture, and assembling such a decent Newcastle team. The track came to the riders and in the second half of the meeting we saw some good racing. Also, the meeting was done in 80 minutes, which was great and a credit to all concerned. I haven't read a copy of the SStar since last summer either, so don't know how the Bears team compares with other sides in the Championship but you certainly have a top class trio of heat leaders: I wish the team every success and will certainly be back. It might take quite a lot to restore my faith in speedway but this evening was a very good start.1 point

The vastly underated Tommy Johansson. Who could forget his pass of Ivan Mauger during the 1974 World Final. Unfortunately suffered with a blood disorder if I am correct but did pick up the 1973 Swedish Championship and who knows what he might have achieved if he had signed for King's Lynn before being "nobbled" by the Hull promotion prior to the 1975 season and picking up an injury which curtailed his career in the UK.1 point

Can I put a different spin on it Tony (or perhaps less spin, more drive ) ? How about P-O Serenius, or indeed Erik Stenlund ? Brave, brave men who took on, and beat the Russians at their own game. Thoroughly nice blokes too,,1 point

Jonas and Daniel are sons of former Eastbourne rider Jan Davidsson.1 point

Remember Eddie Davidsson at Cowley...simply awful and found it hard to negotiate the tight bends. I'm sure he was the father of Jonas and his brother who I can't recall the name?1 point

Recall in Tommy Jansson's biography that Jan could be somewhat of a hothead? I only saw him ride the once at Cowley.1 point
