  1. Taxi for KK surely. Why anyone thought it was risk worth taking needs their heads examining.

  2. I am sure Robert wouldn't want to undermine his well earned (over many years of service), status as an Aces legend..

  3. On a different note who on this Good Friday morning wishes we’d Ipswich home and away ? ( under current form it might not be a good idea ) but with great weather both clubs would get bumper crowds those where days definitely.

  4. I would rather see a fresh face to be honest bring a young rider over who wants to progress. While Dale Allitt is running Lynn speedway we will always be near the bottom. Shame to say it but again we will be the whipping boys of the league. Bring back Jonathan Chapman as I hear he is back in the UK again, we had our most successful years in speedway when he was running the show and the club actually got promoted in the local areas as well which it doesn’t anymore.

  5. Well, Oxford's top heavy side clearly isn't going to work. Even with Nicholls and Masters riding well they were outclassed. They could struggle away from home this year. I couldn't believe the crowd. We turned up about 6.15 and the queues were massive. Didn't bother me though. We had bought our ticket in advance so were able to go straight in and grab a seat at the front of the main stand. The racing picked up towards the end, and the atmosphere improved with it. By the end the place was buzzing. Proper speedway atmosphere and great entertainment as a result despite Oxford being a bit rubbish.

  6. Don't care who it is... but this should have been the opening fixture of the season Glasgow should be banned from all competitions except for the league for this season

  7. A lot of Champ clubs riding, so half the team be out. KK would be available though

  9. I can’t remember the last time it was this busy for a normal meeting. It’s manic.

  10. I watched it on the stream well done Dan for a great job, you best comment of the night " Redcar fans are the best in British Speedway". I made my decision not to travel when I found out Erik Riss would be missing and I am so glad because a 2hr drive home after that loss would only have fried my brain because Sedgeman was crap and Stoneman delivered exactly what I imagined he would. The second strings were also really disappointing so a big shout out needs to go out to Charles Wright and Jason Edwards who were the only two Bears riders that looked like they actually gave a damn. Finally I expected a lot more from Danny King, but I will reserve judgement for now because I know he's better than that performance

  12. Anyone who thinks Kildemand is the answer is completely wrong.

  13. Ha maybe, I think he’s got more chance of racing for Lynn than pboro though.

  17. Riss was ill according to Hawkins. Could well explain his performance as I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so poor, looked way off the pace which is in contrast to his excellent start to the season for Redcar. I also thought Thompson battled extremely hard. Rew a ropey couple of rides, but much quicker and smoother there after. He and this team will get better as the season goes on. Emil looked like he was riding a rocket ship! An absolute stinker of a gate cost him in his 3rd ride but imperious apart from that. Doyle was also class as expected. Couldn’t believe when I looked at the scorecard to see Fricke’s score! I came away convinced he’d scored 12-13 points! Looked very quick to me and actually looked quicker than Doyle in heat 15 and very nearly passed him. Leicester looked a strong outfit to me. Every pairing that came out looked capable of at least a share of the heats, in most heats heat advantages (apart from 13 and 15 obviously). Think they’re nailed on for top 4 personally. Enjoyed my trip and will return, probably make my way down on the Bank Holiday Monday to see the local derby against Lynn.

  21. I got a feeling it may have dawned on the estate agent that maybe insisting everyone goes to Nando's and wearing matching trainers, aren't the ingredients required for a competitive speedway team. They've built a team who have no togetherness, would rather fight amongst themselves rather than for each other. KK was always going to be capable and likely of nights like last night. Klindt is just as capable of producing shocking nights. Last night slightly flattered Sheffield I feel, as the gates certainly fell in their favour with gate 3 being it's usual dreadful self as the track staff refuse to prepare the gates (can't believe away riders/teams haven't figured this out yet) The home team know when is best to get, and how to use their gates. The manager needs to get a stop watch and understand it's use. But all in all you've got to be expecting to get humped in heats 13 and 15 every week home and away I'd of thought with that top 2. The team was built to do it's best work at other parts in the meeting. Sheffield is a horrible place to go when your confidence is low. It's such a fast unforgiving narrow track that if your tail isn't up or your Kahoonas are on the small side, you're not going to have a good night.

  22. I assume @szkocjasid means everyone bar Pickering & Thomson and I'd probably agree athough it depends on your expectations really. A bit of leeway perhaps for the two newbies but I'd imagine Cook, Bickley and Castagna would all be disappointed with their 2022 seasons if you asked them.

  23. 1986 and the first season of Bradford after the move from Halifax. It was April as Kenny Carter was still with us and started with a Saturday night defeat at Cradley Heath 41-37 which was actually better than normal for the time. We'd gone on the supporters coach and it arrived back in Bradford after 1am. The next morning we had to be back I think for 8am as we were away at SWINDON. It's a fair trek to Blunsdon from Bradford and was an afternoon match. If I recall correctly it started to rain as we went past birmingham and never stopped. The coach got to SWINDON and it was off. TBF Swindon let us in the stadium and we got a tea/cofffee from them before we set off back on the long haul back to Bradford. A long 2 days, but we got 1 match.

  24. As Bagpuss said this team wasn't built to have an out and out number one. I was one of many who were gobsmacked when they announced KK.He has always blown hot and cold when I have seen him bar one meeting at Lynn. I agree even at this early stage it seems Lynn will need team changes, although we probably have been to two of the toughest away tracks in the league. But the early signs are we are in for yet another tough year. If Worrall was to become available,we could bing him and Zagar in for KK and Jorgensen if the averages don't change between now and then. That would have a more balanced look to it imo.

  30. I'm going to this one as I didn't go to Oxford because of the weather and it's a sunny bank holiday. My 4 year old's first speedway meeting. Hope she doesn't cause any trouble.

  31. What parallel universe are you floating around in?? "Not like most people work at 9-5 anymore these days" I assume you don't venture along the M8 east or west bound between the hours of 7-9 am or 430-6 pm where all us minions just decide to go for a drive at the exact same time for no apparent reason.

  33. World of difference between the two sides. Other than Masters and Nicholls, the rest of the Oxford team were cannon fodder. I got there at 6.10 and the queues were huge. Really the gates should have been open 30 minutes earlier and the start was delayed by 20 minutes as lines of people wound out of the stadium and onto Wimborne Road. The grandstand was almost full fifteen minutes after the gates opened. Racing wise it was one way traffic except for a tactical and heat 11. As expected Poole’s reserves steamrollered the opposition’s 6 and 7. The winner of strength in depth v top heavy is clear to see. Oxford really need a quick rethink or their season will be over as soon as it started.

  34. Good win that. Great to see Cookie slot back in and riding Armadale almost like he'd never been away. Josh will be frustrated but we know he's better than that normally. Good points haul from Kye and Paco and the other boys did their bit too. Don't fancy our chances on Sunday tbh but good to get the season off to a positive start.

  37. Quite the opposite. Seems I'm the only one on this thread that keeps up with what goes on. People moaning they don't know the rule changes , yet as I pointed out the rules have been available on the internet for over a month.

  38. Way back before smart phones set off from just north of Glasgow at 8am to go to King's Lynn. Arrived mid afternoon, beautiful summers day, only to find out the meeting had been called off at 10am as monster trucks had wrecked the track the night before. Thursday Swindon rained off 30 minutes before start time. Friday Oxford rained off early. Sunday headed home, broke down near Penrith and missed Glasgow's home meeting.

  41. Kasprzak in the Polish press saying that his slow and poor start to the season has been influenced by the cold weather - better start hoping a heatwave is on the way!

  42. Completely agree with you. KL was way more successful when Allitt had less influence!

  43. All this talk about worrall becoming available and coming straight back to kings lynn…who says he’d want to?? he had a pretty solid season last year and wasn’t brought back, now the grass isn’t greener for the Lynn management who’s says he will automatically come running back?

  44. The KL management must be the only people that expected him to be any good.

  47. Why they signed KK is a mystery absolutely awful and shut off going into the first bend there. I’d get rid now as he’s a waste of space.

  48. Think how much money he spent putting into having UK bikes. Takes a strong person not to react when thinking they have been screwed over.

  49. Holder clearly hasn't. He put the Panthers 2023 race suit out before the Panthers released it.
