He's only 15 turns 16 in June and championship is not on the agenda at this moment. To much to soon could be the ruination of him remember he's British and would be slagged from pillar to post if he don't score well ,won't get the slack Aussie youngsters get who struggle at that level7 points

Think that's a pretty decent scoreline on what will probably be our worst track this season given the side we have put together. Nice to see Marcin win a race "at snails pace" in the same time as Harris and Cook in same meeting4 points

Fantastic effort so far by Berwick at Leicester. I thought Leicester would be far too strong for them!3 points

Excellent to hear the crowd size, a very healthy crowd at Armadale tonight as well both car parks full by 40 minutes before tapes up. Fingers crossed it continues for both3 points

Well, Oxford's top heavy side clearly isn't going to work. Even with Nicholls and Masters riding well they were outclassed. They could struggle away from home this year. I couldn't believe the crowd. We turned up about 6.15 and the queues were massive. Didn't bother me though. We had bought our ticket in advance so were able to go straight in and grab a seat at the front of the main stand. The racing picked up towards the end, and the atmosphere improved with it. By the end the place was buzzing. Proper speedway atmosphere and great entertainment as a result despite Oxford being a bit rubbish.3 points

It was all a bit of handbags for me, the 2 riders both had all their protective gear on and it got the crowd going, it wasn't as if it was like Mudguards gbh attack on Ando which was sickening... more of a Boycie vs Gollob, Scotty vs Emil imo Lewis Kerr making himself look a bit of a Juan Kerr is probably punishment enough3 points

Luke had accepted the guest ride however as Berwick wanted to use him instead of josh embleton they couldn't as a reserve must be replaced by an unattached rider below his average. It's a good rule which gives riders without a place an opportunity to ride2 points

Having run teams in both the Initial MDL and in NJL leagues with a view of reintroducing a venture in Halifax, this particular team gave opportunities to now established riders and sadly ones who walked away from the sport. In and around West Yorkshire the publicity not only kept the name alive but an interest that sadly now has waned. Some of the meetings had more than normal in attendance as lapsed fans returned for a look at what was going on. Unfortunately it was not to be in Halifax with a council hell bent on not allowing a return, but whilst the Ghost team ran so did riding opportunities. Given the prospect of any potential return from a Ghost team, then why not allow them to run on the proviso of a planning application.2 points

At that point in the meeting yes as he was 1.5 seconds roughly slower than any other point in the night. Same time as heat 14 and 15 which are at the end of the meeting where times get slower as the night goes on with the slicker conditions compared to in the middle of the meeting. Let’s not get away from the fact he’s guff anywhere that’s not Ashfield.2 points

Think Berwick have gone the wrong way about their R/R and guests. Should have used R/R for Freeman which would have given Danny Phillips an extra R/R ride. Then gone for someone like Luke Killeen, Elliott Kelly or Luke Harrison for Watson. (Ex-Leicester rider Kai Ward is a decent choice of unattached 3-pointer to replace Embleton, and on a good day he could have the beating of the erratic Vinnie Foord). Even with a full team, Berwick would be getting another massive tonking here, as Freeman, Mason and Embleton were unlikely to score an awful lot, but an extra ride for Phillips used wisely may have got an extra couple of points, and Killeen would do at least as well as Congreve.2 points

Has to be unattached so due to Luke been in the declared team he cannot guest at 6 or 7 but can at one to five hence why he can ride for Mildenhall tomorrow2 points

Bickley is what he is . 2/3 point middle tier reserve and a top third tier rider. Anyone remember Barrie Evans bursting on the scene as a 15 year old? Was exactly the same. Top prospect in the conference at 15, immaculate machinery yet in the PL never got out of a mediocre reserve.2 points
-
I understand the logic behind that. The reality is though, that a 12 point win at Redcar, doesn't happen that often. With the aggregate point in play, Redcar will struggle, unless everybody contributes and circumstances are not going to work in your favour, very often, as they did against Berwick.2 points

Can’t disagree with any of that - Lynn had a great opportunity this season to build a great side with Jackobsen starting average being low any team would have signed him in a flash - but the club has seemingly wasted that golden opportunity.2 points

Excellent crowd and Poole can only beat what is in front of them, but it wasn’t a great meeting, not much passing as it was so on sided. Poole look very strong, Oxford look well short. Haven’t seen the Cook brothers for a while they are excellent, great to see Scotty still giving it everything at 44, top class.2 points

It's not a risk signing Bridger. It's not a risk signing Kasprzak. What it is is plain stupidity showing they have no 'up to date' Speedway knowledge. Probably add Kildemand to the stupidity list too. A risk is an up & coming 16-19yo nobody has heard or seen before. I'm amazed King's Lynn haven't called Topinka yet. I'm not sure money is much of an issue. What seems to be happening, at least for a decade now, is that there's a selection of 'personally known friends' rider's & they just work with those. There just is no 'thinking outside the box' going on within the King's Lynn management whatsoever.2 points

Great news for the sport.People moan about Poole but they must be doing something right, the fans keep turning up.2 points

I have to agree, but I do feel that things are worse these days. I'm always seeing reports of muggings and stabbings - often in broad daylight. That being said, it's so much easier to spread the news now via the internet, so will see more of these stories. As far as you growing up on Blackbird Leys, I grew up on the St. Helier council estate, and it was never as bad (or it didn't seem to be) as the media would have you believe! Of course, we did have the bad areas, such as the Phipps Bridge Estate (Mitcham), Durand Close (Hackbridge), and High Path Estate (South Wimbledon), but I stayed away from those!1 point

The (unjustified) whinging on this thread was that the OP didn't know the rule changes for 2023, as the website only had 2022 regulations. However the fact is that at the time of his posting (and for a month previously) the Regulations were on the website. So his post was pointless. Also if someone doesn't follow the regulations, they will be punished as set out in the regulations. Touch the tapes, you'll be excluded etc etc. As it ever was. But people like to moan about nothing.1 point

A bit pointless, given that the CWG Legacy has a different agenda and is all about young people getting actively involved in participation sports (running swimming, boxing, cycling etc), not propping up a commercial spectator sport (let alone a motor sport) frequented by "not young" people. Until the Brummies get involved with community ventures and start engaging with young people there won't be a penny worth applying for.1 point

Lindback if interested. Hope they keep Ben in the team though. He was so good at Poole tonight, think he will improve throughout the season at Peterborough.1 point

But it isn't a knockout stage yet and is a mini league and can use them in normal league meetings which have agg scores. I would assume from SF onwards you can't use them.1 point

Good win that. Great to see Cookie slot back in and riding Armadale almost like he'd never been away. Josh will be frustrated but we know he's better than that normally. Good points haul from Kye and Paco and the other boys did their bit too. Don't fancy our chances on Sunday tbh but good to get the season off to a positive start.1 point

It would seem so on paper…….but no-one knows what discussions are taking place behind the scenes, how the riders feel, how the equipment is, who’s likely to gate best from the gates available etc. etc. So, it’s not always as simple a choice as it would appear.1 point

Way back before smart phones set off from just north of Glasgow at 8am to go to King's Lynn. Arrived mid afternoon, beautiful summers day, only to find out the meeting had been called off at 10am as monster trucks had wrecked the track the night before. Thursday Swindon rained off 30 minutes before start time. Friday Oxford rained off early. Sunday headed home, broke down near Penrith and missed Glasgow's home meeting.1 point
