I had an email from them this morning outlining the issues and the resolution. They advised the full meeting is available to view on the website. They also offered a full refund because of the inconvenience, as a goodwill gesture. That's an extremely generous offer. But I will not be taking it up, having been able to watch 14 of the heats, albeit a few heats behind the live action. Good luck to the Academy lads and the promotion.

When you rely on a third party to ensure things run smoothly there's always a chance that this kind of thing may happen and you are the one to take the flak. Fortunately the issue was resolved fairly quickly and normal service was restored. Considering the tricky conditions after the deluge the riders did remarkably well to provide good competitive racing. Of course, but for the remarkable efforts of the track staff there would have been no racing at all so that is worth bearing in mind also.

Yep got there in the end and once it was working it was the usual high standard of broadcast. Really wish other clubs would do this too.

Says in the speedway Star that Erik returned to Germany for tests "on a debilitating condition which He described as brain fog and dizziness" so is going to have blood tests, MRI scan and checks on His heart. Hope its nothing too serious and He gets well soon.

Roynon rode his 4th league match on October 4th, which somehow didn't count as it was after the playoffs cut-off date - which doesn't really make any sense as even if the match was raced before the cut-off neither Armadale or Plymouth could make the top 4 anyway! So it's not as if riders would try & drop their averages because it "didn't matter". However Ashton Boughen rode as a guest a whole month later (Nov 4th) and was given an average, because it was his 4th match! For the record I have no issue with Roynon raving in the NL, just think it should be on the right average. But it appears the BSPL are more interested in making sure a 34 year old with previous Premiership experience, who's being racing since 2007 get all the assistance possible to find a team, with his low average. But Ashton Boughen a 15 year old who has only ridden FOUR matches in his career - let's give him an average to screw with the team who gives him a chance! Roynon also had 5 guest appearances which don't count for averages, but Boughen's guest appearances did!

100% if a French club could attract enough punters to make it worthwhile? Not that much different to when the IoW used to ride in the British League! I think a team based in Dublin at one of the few dog tracks in the area could also work?

Beat an awful Jorgensen both reserves and made one gate where he seems to be a different rider when in front. Wouldn’t get too excited.

I think I've got it, it was going to be Jake Allen guesting when the Czech round was going to be today, then it was moved to tomorrow and Brennan thought he could ride tonight, so they cancelled Allen, then Brennan realised he couldn't make it for tomorrow at 09:30 so Glasgow used R/R... I'm going for a lie down

Not a lot In the standard cut and thrust of lap 1 Brennan possibly blocked Wights run and effectively ended his challenge for the lead Have seem plenty worse - certainly no need for that reaction From memory on previous visits when with Somerset Wright seemed to have a similar lack of understanding when partnered with Starke....

The Monarchs Stream was let down by its host platform Vimeo which crashed. They switched to YouTube to get it going again. Obviously the customers suffer and the club will be in touch with those who bought the stream and didn't get what they paid for. It can't be guaranteed that it won't happen again but it is something which should be extremely rare.

I actually meant Berwick had a weaker rider at 3 & stronger rider at 4, but obviously didn't proof-read. Didn't explain the second point well either, because most teams have the top 2 at 1&5, I consider them heat leader positions, but 2,3&4 second string positions - so I basically think of all teams as having 2 heat leaders & 3 second strings. What I had meant was Hagon was the strongest of Belle Vue's middle order!

That's the date Glasgow had pencilled in for KO Cup so unless Berwick have riders unavailable should be good for 28th

A job in weather forecasting is probably not an option. Saying that the actual forecasters got it wrong as well.

Gating will definitely be more important tonight. Conditions should help the Bandits a bit. No one seems bothered about the track, and track staff haven't done any work on it, so they seem quite content about it. They're a bit less content about a car that seems to be blocking an ambulance from entering the stadium...

At the track slight drizzle just now but Blue skies in the distance, this may be my famous last words but nothing that should threaten the meeting. Just realised Rory is riding so it’s 50/50.

Not a great meeting. Most exciting part was watching Charles Wright racing Tom Brennan all night & have a pop at him after heat 3. Ipswich bottom end was awful. Rew's gating is terrible & Thompson is out of his depth. Hume as a senior reserve with Rew not looking comfortable around Foxhall spells trouble. King didn't help his side though in heat 12 after a surprise 5-1 in heat 11. Belle Vue steady & did what they had to do against a weakened side. Bewley well off the pace again. What's going on with him? Always nice when they close the A12 at 9pm & get imbeciles to put out the diversion signs.

He had been due to fly to the Czech Republic to represent Great Britain after tonight’s Ashfield encounter But the European Team Championship semi-final has been postponed and Brennan will be in stripes at Berwick when the tapes rise at 7pm. I think if the full facts were known people's opinion would be different

It's really interesting to read some of the comments on here, especially looking back over the past few days. I was at Sheffield last Thursday and it was a fairly comfortable win for the Tigers and, yes, Kasprzak looked awful. But it's early season, things are just settling down and riders are getting back to fitness, getting used to new machinery and, in some cases, new tracks. The reaction to his first two meetings was typical of much of the society of today - an over reaction. Reading this forum sometimes is like listening to the stuff football fans come out with when they want a manager sacked after a couple of losses. It's a horrible culture. Riders getting stick for being better at home than away is also becoming more common. I'm not sure how certain riders from the 70s and 80s would have stayed with clubs for as long as they did if internet forums existed back then. I remember one season at Sheffield in the 1970s when the Tigers had a 100% home record but failed to pick up a point away from home. Riders like Craig Pendlebury and Arnie Haley remained popular even though there was a big disparity between their home averages and their away averages because they were loyal servants to the club and put the effort in. Further back, Billy Bales had a great home average but struggled to score a point away from home for a few seasons. I think he would have been hounded out in today's need for instant success. I was really pleased the Stars won last night and really pleased that KK got a maximum. I just hope the fans can show a bit of patience and a bit of tolerance, rather than all this bed wetting nonsense that gets posted in week 1 of the season.

No one can use the line... " give the new riders time to settle in at Foxhall, or they need track time at Foxhall" Meeting was over by 9pm so the likes of Rew and Thompson ( could say Hume King or even Emil) had an hour available to them to practice.

Ans that is the thing isnt it... There are plenty of riders available nowadays as they dont ride anywhere else on a Monday and Thursday.. (apart from Polands rain off rescheduled meetings which dont take priority anyway) (Good luck with that, however).... The purpose of fixed race nights was supposedly to allow "top names" to come back to the UK... Teams in Peterborough's and Wolverhampton's position should be required to make a signing before running another match, or just be granted RR.. That would stop any "facilities" needing to be requested with all the usual discussion around their legality... Chris Holder has a set of Panthers kevlars for gods sake, (new colour too), so he should be at No1 for them tonight... It just makes the sport look amateurish when teams borrow off others, when plenty of riders are sat elsewhere who could take places... No signing. No meeting... Would stop a lot of what goes on that impacts the sports credibility I would suggest... And if not using the power of fixed race nights to get replacements in then you may as well all ride whenever you want...
