I'd have to agree that the booking fee is something that has annoyed myself as well. Whilst trying to book for Newbury races for 6 people I had a £30 booking fee thats 6 X £5 for a single transaction. We never went, I'll pay the £5 but not £5 for each ticket when all booked together. I think we believe the same facts that why should we pay the fee when it is us that have done all the work4 points

Something good is happening at Mildenhall with it regaining it's happy family feeling once again, thanks to all the hard wok everybody is putting in. Customers are made to feel welcome, and the only other place that I've experienced that is the Isle of Wight, who have a wonderful set-up, that speedway in general could and should be learning from. People moan about Mildenhall being a dangerous track, but then all tracks are dangerous, and I don't mean that literally, but wherever you race on a machine that are so highly tuned these days, with no brakes, then they're all dangerous from that point of view. I agree that they do get a lot of riders falling/crashing etc; at Mildenhall, but nine times out of ten, it's the younger riders learning their trade that are falling/crashing, which is inevitable as this is a Development League club, not somewhere like Doyle, Bewley, Masters and so on race. Yesterday, I attended the meeting against Berwick, raced in front of a very health Bank Holiday crowd, and was equal in racing quality that I've seen at any level (I'm not talking GP's), and possibly the best meeting I've been lucky enough to witness at ANY level, for a couple of years now. So well done Mildenhall for all the hard work you are obviously putting, and well done Berwick, for coming and attacking the track, rather than being wary of it. Superb Meeting.3 points

If I had my way it would be a guest for a missing Number One, R/R for either heat leader missing and a junior/team asset (although this is open to abuse) for second strings and reserves.3 points

If they'd had a whole month to sign somebody and had failed to do so then yes. Guests and facilities are being used far too often and for too long, it's further damaging speedway's credibility.3 points

Berwick’s not going to drop Watson, it was the whole idea of the Courtney’s set up. He had never rode a speedway bike until he rode at Duns, then into the NJL team, then into the NL team, and he’s a Berwicker3 points

Reading this would have you believe that it’s only Glasgow that has these crashes. It’s a dangerous sport and happens on an almost daily basis at all tracks Glasgow is no more dangerous or safer than any other track.2 points

Embarrassing. He's not a number 1. If Laguta goes to Leicester that's me done2 points

Sums up today’s generation. Take the cash, screw the fans and bemoan that the supporters show no respect. Is it any wonder that the sport is in on its arse. The riders have no respect for the paying punter, the promoters continue to track six man teams and the seven rider side is unlikely with R/R seemingly common place and a sport that rarely can make ends meet takes the piss and yet in any other form of entertainment, the punter would walk. Not in speedway because the diehards accept what is dished up yet new punters take one look and think it is a joke and those in charge are blind to this. Why do those in charge, the promoters and the riders think they have some god given gift which demands support. The sooner all wake up and realise that they are instrumental in the decline of a once great form of entertainment, the easier it will be to rebuild but until then watch six man teams, 28 day replacements, interference from overseas leagues and riders who will never make the grade as long as the sport is run the way it is and it sums up what dire situation it faces. It needs some serious change but those in charge are as blind as those who do not want to see.2 points

Hope we have a referee that notices when the gate staff repack the start gates that the home riders are on as well .2 points

Absolutely! Eastbourne had a conveyor belt of riders ready to fill in any gaps...and, of course, the old Second Half encouraged riders in that they often mixed with the established riders. Even at Oxford when we entered the old National League we had riders waiting in the wings to be given a chance.2 points

KK is a disgrace no other word for it. Fair play to some of the Lynn boys who got going and young Edwards did ok For us King was awful …. Young Kenyan always on the pace and deserved heat 15 as Doyle not fit Emil just wow2 points

I think some, but not all of our problems are that Buster and Allit are trying to put 2 teams together. Buster buying the Panthers didn't do Lynn any good.2 points

Makes the decision to sign for Peterborough all the more bizarre. Was never going to be committed on our tracks was he really? Don’t think his first bend spill had much to do with it at all.2 points

The rules have changed this year. Facilities are granted by the SCB Manager - Neil Vatcher, he determines the length of the facility but my information is it’s going to be limited this year after the furore caused by the Kennett situation at Plymouth last year. The most important change is when clubs are granted No official facility. In the past teams were forced to use a 2 point junior rider. This year teams are able to use a rider whose CMA is 25% less than the rider who is missing. To put this into context Wolves can continue to use Scott Nicholls to cover for Becker as Nicholls current GSA of 5.28 is at least 25% below Becker,s current GSA of 7.11 (7.47 home). Or can use another rider up to an average of 5.33. Thats my understanding of the regulations for 2023.2 points

I'd agree to a certain extent (my mother, however, couldn't navigate a computer/ipod etc and I'm sure that there are plenty like her of a certain age) and although I have a very basic phone I do use the internet but where I draw the line is having to pay a booking fee when ordering tickets etc. I use "contactless'" all the time and have no issue with that facility but I do carry cash on me because there are still businesses out there who only accept cash.2 points

Don't disagree for those who have two teams like Berwick, but for clubs like Mildenhall, this is all they have, it's a league title at the end of the day.2 points

Stuart Robson Farewell Meeting FB DECISION TAKEN TO POSTPONE MEETING TO 2024 It is with great sadness, but also with good reasoning that we have taken the decision to postpone the meeting until the start of 2024. When the 4th attempt fell foul to the weather in March, we had great support from the Redcar promotion, the BSPA, all of our sponsors and you the public in getting a date agreed for 4th June. The biggest challenge was that the original 16 line up for March, 12 of those 16 riders were unavailable for the new date due to other commitments, so we set about contacting replacements to make the event still a very competitive line-up. Unfortunately the availability of the replacement riders is such that we have had to take this decision. “We have been discussing this for a few weeks, and although I want the meeting to go ahead I think the decision is the right one.” Said Robbo “I can’t thank Jamie and the Redcar Promotion enough for their support, and also Martin and Chrisse for all of their work in helping with everything in the background. I want the event and the line-up to be the best it can be, and although we could try again at the end of the season, riders who are in league playoffs etc understandably don’t want an extra meeting at that time.” “I know when we eventually get to run it will be a great meeting, and I thank everyone for their patience and kind words of support”. We will contact all of the sponsors over the next few weeks with some more details, and also those racejacket sponsors1 point
