As as regular attendee at Foxhall this season i can say Emil has been an absolute pleasure to have at my club Performances on the track for obvious reasons But off the track he interacts with all fans after a meeting often the last one to ho get changed … lets the kids sit on his bike and will have as many photos as people wish …. A thoroughly decent human being12 points

So Harris for Laguta and Morris for MPT. My enthusiasm has finally eroded down to zero. Don't tell us fibs about injuries, if Laguta can't be afforded or Wroclaw don't want him riding here or at Monmore then tell us the truth. The club needs a massive overhaul in the winter, a brand new approach from top to bottom and running at a level we can prosper at whatever that is. No wonder crowds are dismal.10 points

Must admit, I am a bit disappointed by the response of some on here.. No one seems concerned as to Artem's welfare in all of this.. Get well soon Artem... #prayforartem....7 points

I'm sure many Wolves fans were looking forward to seeing Laguta ride at Monmore tonight but are now denied that pleasure. Seems crazy that Belle Vue fans had the opportunity to see him but Wolves fans won't. If riders are contracted to a club they should ride and certainly in all league matches.6 points

More people believed King's Lynn pit gate was broken than believe Laguta is actually injured6 points
-
Seems to me that it is no coincidence that Chapman said last week that the King's Lynn team is over budget and then his week Laguta isn't riding.6 points
-
If they told the truth they would get a facility for Laguta with holding his services… and probably have abit of sympathy from their own fans for being honest. Outright lying with a sentence that “Laguta is injured, so Chris Harris guests” is utter b0ll0cks.6 points

Isn’t he supposed to be cleaning up this sort of mess? It’s a shambles of a situation. Kings Lynn look like morons for trying to claim Artem is injured, when clearly he isn’t. British Speedway management look like morons and so weak for not putting a stop to it, at risk of upsetting Buster…. Ask to see his flights that were booked (and now cancelled) to show he was actually meant to be coming. And you filter all the way back down the channels and the ones who ultimately end up suffering and being lied to is the fans. But who cares about them anyway?6 points

Sad to see such a decline in what was four or five years ago a passable sport. The top league should be abandoned. Two leagues only with riders who are prepared to ride u k speedway as a their main league and any overseas clubs who they join are aware that the British fixtures take precedent. If it means you end up with part time riders who have jobs outside the sport so be it, it was not that bad last time it was run on this basis. It has no future as it is currently run. Once great teams/tracks like KL and Peterborough have been sacrificed by promoters who fail to operate in the interest of the entire sport. I really hope that someone with some vision can drag this out of the mess and make a successful before it is consigned to history. We cannot compete with overseas clubs/ leagues so stop pretending we can.4 points

Begs the question why should fans bother to turn up if their team’s riders cannot be arsed?4 points

Impossible to compete with a council funded team. Bewley, Kurtz, Wright and Lidsey. Would love to see the wage bill.3 points

We've finally got an out and out No.1 around Peterborough...........Unfortunately we've still got Andersen and Worrall.3 points

The new KL team manager knows how to get the opposition fired up that's for sure.3 points

Come on. It's all Mickey Mouse bollox granted, but you have a young lad making his debut who looks very useful and Bewley and Kurtz there... Could be some cracking racing... I presume that given it is on Eurosport they have reduced the admission to a tenner to get a big crowd in and make it look like a popular place to be and a successful sport...? With two free hours of advertising to showcase yourself, you would be daft not to wouldnt you? Maybe ask the new fella how is Uncle is bearing up as well?3 points
-
You are correct, but wasting your time... They have the sport they want.. A hobby that isnt taken too seriously and has no forensic analysis, nor review.. It could be so much more if the skill set of those in charge was fit for purpose.. And that is the real frustration... So many in charge of clubs today have overseen a huge decline in the sport during their tenure, so clearly dont have the capability to turn it around, and, sadly, when new ideas have come in, those with them are soon sent away disillusioned, leaving the sport to those dinosaurs who are quite happy to continue with their hobby that masquerades as a sporting contest..3 points

Laguta is about as injured as the pit gate was broken earlier in the season. Buster is certainly getting his moneys worth from the ladybird book of bullrubbish this season3 points

The whole situation is a farce! They wonder why they can't get fans through the turnstiles, well look no further than this. Surely there must be some sort of enquiry in to how a rider contracted to ride in a meeting in the UK and yet rode well in Poland on Sunday, can simply not turn up for his UK fixture? I assume he has a medical certificate which I thought was required?3 points
-
Pretty sure Doyle would have been there if it wasn’t for his rearranged Polish fixture. He done most if not all the Pairs meetings he could last year. Low pay or not he’d have done it. But that’s Doyle for you.3 points

British speedway will never turn itself around by making itself a form of entertainment. Times are different, too much competition and too many different attitudes to its heyday. Success is making a sport for competitors. Create an inexpensive form of motorsport for hobby riders. This is almost completely non existent. Is there another successful sport without any grassroots? Speedway's an amateur sport pretending to be professional. It needs to be an amateur sport with semi-professional aspirations. A strong competitor base will create a product for spectators but you want to put the cart before the horse. There are not enough speedway riders to run league speedway (speedway is an individual sport, not a team one IMO, but that's another matter). There are many, many problems in speedway, but lack of riders is by far and away the biggest one I can see.2 points

Why did they put Cook off 15 metres? Surely Hans is doing enough off of the gate to have put himself amongst it ….2 points

This sport is an absolute joke. There are more clowns in it than Billy Smarts Circus. If a Team owner won't pay the wages of one of his contracted riders, then why is a facility allowed to cover. Speedway should become like Football, let clubs sign who they like, do away with averages, have one rising star per team. If a side wants to have the best 6 + r/s then so be it. Crowds would probably increase with better riders on show more often. Teams like Man City don't have to get rid of their best players because they won the league, instead they can go and get even better players if required. Speedway should follow this same route. If a Speedway owner has the money, let them get who they want. I would rather pay to watch a side with 6 top riders and a Rookie, than one top rider, one has-been, two never-will, two who might and a youngster. It's time Speedway changed their model as presently it is not working and something needs to be done soon before either Speedway dies or all the supporters who used to go.2 points

Coming from a Poole fan I’m guessing your not seeing the irony in this post.2 points

Wolves are represented by Championship riders from Oxford (Sam Masters) & Poole (Steve Worrall). Ipswich are also using two Championship riders who both ride for Redcar (Eric Riss & Danny King). I suppose calling it Premiership allows the admission to go up a few quid? Sadly at this stage Chris Harris is not programmed. A shameful omission!2 points
-
So if that's true, that's the deal Alex Brady agreed to? A complete disregard for Wolves, Ipswich & Leicester fans. This is why the sport needs an independent body, no truly independent body would have sanctioned that deal. If they don't want to compete in league Speedway, perhaps they should join the IoW and do what they do and not waste the rest of our time2 points

We on here really need to form a syndicate to do the lottery... So many of us seem to be able to predict what happens in the future so accurately... Must be countless times when someone on here has said "he wont be there now" when discussing an upcoming meeting.. And low and behold they get proved right...!! Numbers for the Euro millions anyone? We win, we buy UK Speedway..2 points

Said as soon as it happened to a group of mates that he would be guesting for him next week.2 points

I don't think anyone should jump to conclusions about Kyle because he done a few laps round Worky after the meeting. 'Retiring' from competetive Speedway don't automatically mean a guy who has been riding Speedway bikes since he was a young boy doesn't still fancy a skid.2 points

Norick with 2 nasty crashes in last 2 weeks. Give kid a break and let him recover.2 points

Would be more surprised if someone actually asks Phil for his thoughts on the absence as presumably he'll be at the televised meeting. Tatum doesn''t have it in him, Scotty won't want to drop an old employer in the mud and 0 expectation of Abi too do it2 points
-
They'd never have to use a "junior" if they said he's witholding his services, Laguta would get a 28 day ban & Lynn would be allowed guests up to his 8.00 average, if Lynn said we've told him to stay home so we can save money they it's "no facility" so a guest up to 6.00 (75% of his average). I think it's a massive slap in the face of all fans to just pretend he's injured when he's made a comeback successfully in Poland yesterday!2 points
-
They probably don't notice or aren't interested, although the BSPL probably think they are... like I said when the TV deal was signed, I think they probably deserve each other2 points
-
That is yet another major issue though isn't it? They should just be able to say exactly what the situation is.. We have guest after guest after guest in virtually every meeting so the actual reasons for them have become irrelevant... Is he injured? Has he missed a flight? Is anyone talking the piss? Who cares.... This way they run the sport, it means so very little other than getting 14 riders in the same place at the same time to race 15 heats of (hopefully) entertaining racing.. We know it's all contrived and made up, so the promoters should just treat us like adults and tell us reasons why things happen.. It won't stop most from going as being "Champions" means so little overall.. The majority of fans nowadays I would suggest are "Speedway Fans" first, and want it to be successful, before getting too engaged in how successful their club is.. Put out some decent racing and crowds will turn up..2 points

Laguta not being at Wolverhampton tomorrow and then getting a facility is nothing short of a joke. In this day and age you can’t pull the wool over people’s eyes and sight injury when he’s been tearing it up in Poland for all of us to see. You can’t claim travel problems as that is easily traceable - long and short, you will get found out if you are lying. I’m in a couple different speedway groups and called that Laguta wouldn’t be at Wolves on Monday the moment that he withdrew last week - and may never ride for them again either. Im not for one minute suggesting we go down the route of the Swedish league that dishes out rider replacement facilities like they are going out of fashion for no reason, but there is something that has to be done about this going forward. I’ve long thought that shared no.1 team positions could be a way forward for certain riders like Woffinden and others who don’t want to ride every single match over here but I get financially that may not work. There has to be some sort of compromise to make that work.2 points

Seeing Zmarzlik fly into the corner last night running Madsen up to the airfence and deep stuff reminded me of Andersen and Crump in their prime regularly doing the same. Go mid track or try the Sullivan run these days and you'll generally go backwards 10 yards unless it's Frick, Doyle, Sayfutdinov, Bewley etc who've missed the start against slower lesser riders.2 points
-
Utter Farce if hes allowed to do that , also means all teams will be able to sign riders just for home matches in the future Didnt BV get told no to Woffinden doing this ,2 points
