  1. Poole aren't winning against adversity, they'll win because they are stronger than Glasgow & clear favourites imo Yes Tarasenko is on a daft average, but Poole or Oxford could have signed him too! If we struck off everyone who came up with idiotic rules, there would be no-one left to run the sport lol! Stop pretending Poole are underdogs to 1) give yourself an excuse if they lose, 2) celebrate a triumph against all odds when they win. Many tried that tactic with Scunthorpe & I didn't believe them then either. If you REALLY believe Poole are the underdogs, I'd say you should have more faith in your team. Since dropping down Poole have won everything (7 man competitions). Poole are the best team in the league!

  2. They went out to thank their fans that travelled down despite dodgy weather forecast. Its called appreciating the people that help pay their wages and it's about genuine fans appreciating the effort and entertainment the Tigers provide whether home or away.

  3. Have to say I've no problem with teams celebrating victories, especially away from home with fans travelling to watch. It's like the old football cliche 'team A celebrated like they'd won the World Cup!' Defeats are horrible so make the most of the wins, that what I say. Sport is there to be enjoyed.

  4. Bomber had four wins. Ben had four paid wins. Tarasenko had three paid wins. Tom had two wins. Lee Complain scored in four rides. Two last places between heats 3 and 14. Heats one and two were probably all about being caught out by setup - exactly what probably happened to Oxford last week when they went down early. What do you want?!? Some people's expectations are so far off, it's incredible.

  5. The ability to submit comments/objections to the development plans for the Showground and the end of Peterborough Speedway remain open for the foreseeable future. Provided by Cllr Julie Stevenson to clarify the position regarding deadlines: Clarification received from the council today: "The ability to make comments online will not 'close' after the deadline. Local residents still will be able to submit online comments right up to the point that the application is determined. We have to provide a deadline in order to meet statutory regulations and to help manage the application process. There are a number of different dates because for a major application we publicise the application in different ways ie letter, site notice and press notice which go out at different times. All the comments made by other residents and consultees will be viewable up to the determination date too." We are now over 1300 comments/objections, (including one from SCB and BSPL) that’s an amazing achievement and it’s being noticed, your voices are being heard in important places, the number of comments/objections is unprecedented for planning applications in Peterborough. Let’s keep going. Let’s turn the screw. Let’s keep doing this. Let people hear your voice. Anyone from anywhere can submit a comment. Here’s two links that will take you straight to the two planning applications that have been submitted for developing the Peterborough Showground and to make comments and/or objections. You can comment on both applications. https://planpa.peterborough.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=RSOMJ0MLIWV00 https://planpa.peterborough.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=RSXWVDML04U00

  6. Subliminally seeking backup. You're funny. It's not the first time you've been told that on here, but you keep saying other people are the problem. It's you, and I think you need told. I'm not being nasty, just straight. I'd like to propose we trade a sensible Poole fan, if there are any

  7. Anything you say Richard, apart from the bit you say you are a Tigers fan. You might go along to home meetings but in no sense are you a fan.

  8. Who cares? Admittedly the rules are a joke but all I want to see is decent racing, Lambert brings plenty of entertainment and is great to watch when he's on it, Woffinden similar, I'm happy to see our top stars riding on British tracks.

  9. This meeting will be about the biggest FARCE in the history of televised speedway!! Will only go to heat 10, wouldn't normally be racing in those condo and the result is a foregone conclusion before it even started! From the sublime (Monday) to the ridiculous (tonight) both extremes of this sport on show in just three days!

  10. Have do agree, the whole production comes tumbling down with roynon on commentary, he stumbles over basic command of the English language. Enjoyed Ben Barker much more.

  11. Why are some people so upset Edinburgh didn't have a guest for Cook? it's not against the rules, r/r is allowed whatever the situation. All year long I read comments about too many guests, now complaints teams aren't using guests lol!

  12. I hope Rob Godfrey has been listening to all this and realises that Speedway really needs to get its house in order if it is to fight off other situations such as this! In the needs of some kind direction in ways of business plans, national strategies etc.

  13. Are you real? Photos showing happy riders and fans posing for photos should only be taken if you win a title????? You'll be saying next that the Glasgow fans shouldn't stand up, cheer, wave flags and toot airhorns after each race. My god how dare they and the riders actually enjoy themselves. No wonder Leicester is up for sale with fans like you!

  14. Lee is a reserve. He scores like a reserve. He is doing the job he was employed to do. There was no better rider for the same average. Of course he's inconsistent. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be a reserve. And he has been better recently

  15. Watched this on bsn , after 2 heats I thought that we were going to lose, but the boys stepped up well and tbh we got quite a bit of luck, which we have not got last few years, hope Sedgy is Ok, he looked a bit groggy after that off, and poor Connor has had an awful night, was well impressed with Jason Edwards, he would have been my man of the match. Very bad timing for the bears to lose Charles at the play offs, wishing him a full recovery. As a Glasgow fan I am delighted with the result, need to do it all again on Tuesday against Oxford. Good luck to the bears in the KO cup

  16. With Ellis thete was apparently commitment issues, but I'd argue that his form probably warranted him being dropped anyway. Kerr as has been said was a victim of averages. Your original point was about Woffinden and Lambert and they both replaced injured or uncommitted riders.

  17. The top 4, from 7. Should be the title toppers go to the final, and 2nd and 3rd fight it out over 2 legs to join them, imho

  18. Thought the ref had to wait until all riders have left the track before putting the 2 mins on for next heat? Who needs rules at Sheffield ..... Kelvin is more annoying tonight.... keeping going on about getting to heat 10 then calling the meeting.. no Kelv the meeting is 15 heats and if they riding the 1st 10 heats in those conditions they should continue and ride the remaining ones.

  20. Wow. Never before has a point been missed so spectacularly. You’ve said the first two races may have been about set-up - “exactly what probably” is an incredible sentence, by the way - which is an assumption, so let’s use your logic from the other side of the fence; - If Charles Wright was riding, he’d probably have scored more than Justin Sedgmen’s zero. - If Sedgmen’s chain hadn’t snapped, he’d probably have scored more than zero. - If Connor Bailey hadn’t been wiped-out by Sedgmen, he’d probably have scored more than one point. Assuming those instances didn’t happen, Redcar took a 10-2 lead and Hume, Riss and Edwards beat Tarasenko, Basso and Harris? Last night’s a whole different story. My point isn’t that Glasgow didn’t deserve to win; it’s that they’ll have to be much better against Oxford because if I’m a Redcar fan, I’m looking at a missed opportunity last night because of bad luck.

  21. Can’t agree more. Those that don’t have it are certainly missing out and for those that can’t afford a big lump sum, they do monthly direct debits. Only thing they could improve on, is to have more meetings!

  23. I wonder if Torquay Utd fans know that it's owner is appearing at a public inquiry advocating the selling of a sporting stadium for housing development?!?

  26. Watched the stream late last night and as expected a completely one sided affair only kept slightly closer due to Poole riders having bike issues when in scoring positions and the efforts of Pickering and Castagna. The other 4 Monarchs may as well have stayed in bed. So now we wait for Glasgow and Oxford to finish their meeting next Tuesday, to meet Glasgow in the final again. Getting in the Tarasenko has completely changed the Tigers from making up the numbers in the playoffs to outright favourites. But Pirates will give it 100% and hopefully the good guys will win. Feel sorry for Oxford who should really be in the final but for dodgy 5 point averages given to world class riders. Bring it on!

  27. If as seems likely Sheffield do get through you end up with a club who will do whatever it takes to win and the rule book goes out the window and one club who has basically stuck with the same team all season and has got to final on merit. Mickey Mouse sums it up and as you rightly say most will not care and will see it for what it should is a contrived event. Add to this the powers that be who have no balls and a TV company who really are not interested in domestic U K speedway the event has now become a sad reflection of what it use to be years back. Sadly not many on here will hold out any hope that the situation will improve in the future.

  28. Speedway needs more riders like Lee Complin though, ok he is carrying a bit of weight but that’s because he trained to be much bigger for weight lifting or was it body building? Either way you can’t just lose that. I guess you could say he over rides at times trying almost too hard but I would rather watch a rider like that than one who always settles for where they gate and constantly pulls up when last.

  30. Risible. You are years - decades - out of date. Stick to speedway, a failing and seemingly doomed sport you at least appear to know something about.

  31. Who are these 'riders loyal to British speedway who get ditched just before the Play Offs each year'? Certainly not those who Lambert and Woffinden have replaced either this year or last.

  36. I was really against Sayfutinov coming before the start of the season down to ( through no fault of his own) being Russian and still not sure whether it's right to allow Russia and Russian's back into the civilised world at the moment including sport, my view and know not everyone will agree. But......disregarding that the man has won me over with his riding and attitude to British speedway, even Scott Nicholls had his arm round him after the semi final at Belle Vue.... Hope he comes back next year if there's a good enough league for him to come back to, although I fear not.

  37. My only complaint is too much roynon. Not a fan of his, but probably personal preference prefer Greg Blair. When it's a crucial heat 13 between Glasgow and Oxford and he's shouting up the pirates just not on for me (as it would be for any other club name). Other than that it's a great product and not had any of the issues had in the first season. Think the champ as a product is more entertaining than prem personally as well. Been many a snoozefest on Eurosport this year despite what Kelvin tries to tell you!

  38. More conspiracy theory's So Sheffield signed Vissing knowing he would get injured so that he couldn't ride for us and we could have guests its a shame we didn't know how Tai would be injured, we could have warned him to be more careful at Cardiff, then we would still have him riding for us, need a new crystal ball obviously

  39. Before you get too twisted up on this, Poole have a long history of being well supported and well funded. The exception was when Reg Fearman seems to have run it into the ground then run off with Middlo’s testimonial money. So, perhaps “always” was a bit much but how about “nearly always”? There’s not many teams that can claim that

  40. I don't quite know why anybody hasn't asked him the most obvious question of all: "Why are you here?" Maybe Brandon Estates will change their name to Plainmoor Estates when Brandon has been built on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plainmoor "After ownership of Torquay United was transferred to Gaming International under the company name Riviera Stadium Limited, talks with Torbay Council have re-opened about the purchase of Plainmoor and developing the ground into housing" It's so obviously corrupt!

  41. It depends on what the inspector is looking at though. The planning application was not rejected on the viability of Speedway & Stox and the provision of a 3g pitch, that's what the appellant has thrown all their "evidence" behind. There were many factors on why planning was rejected and BE have just elected to ignore those

  43. It's rubbish and he has no more evidence than anybody else re figures. Both parties are arguing about theoretical numbers.

  44. As I said, not many really care now it has been devalued by the BSPL and rules which apply to the league but not the final, where they allow riders to be dropped at a whim during the season even if they are not injured and then allow clubs to almost select a team from those riders not riding in the Polish play offs. It is what it is and the current set up of the sport allows clubs to stretch the meaning of the rules. It use to be Poole that were the culprits but many now adopt a similar policy. As to Sheffield again who cares apart from a few hardy souls who turn up week in week out. You enjoy your final, I sure you think you have earned it.
